It´s not always the messotessitura which says that you are a mezzo or a soprano ,but the colour on the voice must also be respected as a touch of soprano, if that´s what she is. I mean she is a real mezzo and not that high as a soprano. She has also a little

tendency to become dark and thick in her voice, with that i mean not Light as a soprano.

This is so beautifully well done. It's not pushed, its sounds quite effortless... throroughy enjoyed her sound and delivery.She's not a soprano though, folks. She's a mezzo with a well executed top register.

This is beautiful singing by a beautiful voice.  It is not forced or made heavy for effect.

She does not attempt a trill at (1:14). This is truly lovely - long may she keep singing like this. A true mezzo voice

Caranca is ´´mezzo´´. ´´No is high mezzo´´. And never ´´soprano´´. She is mezzo-contralto and mezzo-soprano!!

if garanca is a mezzo-contralto, Bernadette Manca di Nissa or Ewa Podles are barytons or basses.

Please, Garanca is a wonderful high mezzo; she does not have the colour in low notes of a contralto nor even a mezzo.

I find this aria sung in a discrete way; her coloratura is good; the thrill is horrible (1:14). Giuditta Pasta is said to have taken 13 years to do a good thrill, so it's better to do it good, otherwise, change solution!

@konigdernacht I hear nothing "horrible" at 1:14. I am not an expert, so I don't know how this should sound, but, however that may be, the sound is anything but unpleasant.

She must be very careful and leave these low contralto roles alone. She is a very high mezzo (I would argue she is a soprano) and Tancredi is just too low and heavy for her. She almost whispers the aria.

I would argue with that, I am a high tenor (sitting in a tessitura C4-C5 is comfortable for me) and I've sung this an octave down in bass-baritone tessitura and I don't think is uncomfortable at all, it is just very central and mid-low, it is really not to low. There are other parts in the role that are lower, also Arsace I think has a somewhat lower tessitura.
