  • WTF THE GUY COULDN'T EVEN STAND UP AND HE JUST PUSHED HIM OUT OF THE PLANE! ARE YOU SERIOUS? the person who pushed him out should be banned from skydiving. what an idiot

  • wow i read the description that has to be fucking scary waking up 12k feet falling

  • Another reason why AAD's are the greatest invention ever.

  • that might be the most frightening thing I've ever seen....so wrong in every way...

  • 3:28 Yeah, just kick him the fuck out! OMFG!

  • Hell of a thing to wake up to.

  • Yikes, hope he had Cypres

  • this is fucking scary.

  • I think posting this was the right thing to do, to show exactly how this should not have been handled. Your honesty is appreciated.

However! just like a low turn, this pilot controlled the ascent! He should have discontinued. He is a dickhead, no doubt about it, as is any experienced jumper who was present and not affected.

I can't fucking believe my eyes, so many jumpers and nobody smart enough to make the right decision. I hope this clown at least had permission to go into the Flight Levels

  • @goose27 Yes. That is what hypoxia means. It makes you stupid. Problem with oxygen starvation is that the higher brain functions go first and you really don't know you are suffering from hypoxia. Calling them clowns tells me you don't know what you are talking about. It was really good to see this video published, maybe on some other flight ppl may realize that they are not getting enough oxygen. But even with proper training it is really really hard to know when it is actually happening.

  • @aprepo

Wow! You worked out the definition. The PIC was hopefully on O2. Are you seriously telling me that the effects were not obvious enough to make a safe decision. Nothing safe occured here, just luck.

I might know nothing, but I started jumping in 89 and have been flying since 91, Fixed wing, rotary, bush, low-level, airlines, charter, teaching. Please, tell me what I'm missing.

    Clowns is an understatement.

  • Wow this is scary.

  • Let them crash. Earth bears too many idiots.

  • I can't believe they actually let them jump like that... Was every single person hypoxic or what?

  • @Maj0ra yes.

  • You people are retarded. You don´t put a guy in that state out the door. Either that, or you are fakes.

  • They must have landed off by miles.. Damn.

Brings me back to trudging through muddy farm fields to the road one weekend years ago at Skydive Spaceland..

  • This is when you leave him on the plane and have the pilot land. You don't yell, "GO!" kick him out while his back is out the door. You should all have your skydiving licenses revoked. Horrible decision making and a horrible "friend."

  • HAHAh they had to edit the first part cause no one even helped the guy in orange/red till ages later....GOD dman dumb ass skydivers.....

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • 0:37 a werewolf?

  • Haha seriusly. Thats crazy. Everybody else is like, whats up whit him? I dont care :) the rest is even worst :) hes totaly out, physically and mentally. and the second dude is helping him and dragin him to the door. physically ok but mentally out of it! And the cameraman is mentally ok but physically out of it and like noo but cant move. Haha. its not funny but i cant help myself. Nice exit :) Aim hope you al is ok. Ps sorry for bad english

  • And I get grounded for doing a low turn....!!!!

  • @cannywf1

You got grounded for a low turn because you controlled that turn, these people are hypoxic have no idea what they are doing...

and rest assured... we where grounded for the rest of the day, not by the DZ, but by nature... Hypoxia leads to pretty severe headaches, and we were done for the day after this.

  • @tvandijck Holey shit.. Did you guys land on the drop zone???

  • @tvandijck Those people are hypoxic because they're stupid and, just like making the conscious decision to do a low turn, these idiots made the decision to spend more than a safe amount of time above 13,000 feet. Morons...all of them.

  • Friends don't let friends jump hypoxic.

  • @taods

Friends who are hypoxic themselves have no idea they let their friends jump hypoxic.

  • @tvandijck You may have a point there. ;)

  • @tvandijck friends who are hypoxic let friends drop acid while hypoxic.. and hypoxia .. idk where i was goin with this.. scary stuff. glad you guys are ok.

  • @tvandijck I just thought about a leash attached to every diver that wouldn't allow them to even approach the exit if you couldn't complete 5 simple tests. People wouldn't be able to tamper with it if they're hypoxic and if they managed to release it, well they would probably be able to handle the jump safely too. It could be automatically released in case of an emergency. Aren't there such systems implemented already?

  • JFC I cant believe what I just watched. Seriously that is like handing a crying fat teenage girl a razor and telling her she will never be pretty.

  • far out that's crazy but funny. That exit by the dude on his back had me laughing but jaw-dropped

  • So stupid. why would any1 let him do that.

  • To all of you who say "why let him jump" - you realize that EVERYONE was hypoxic, not just the guy on his back, right? The guy with the camera couldn't even move.

  • Why did you let him go? He was clearly no in control of his actions, wtf

  • Wow....this is the most shocking skydive video that I have ever seen on YouTube....and I've seen alot. I just can't believe that anyone would let that guy near the door....not only for his safety, but for the safety of everyone left on that plane.

  • Geeze-zus H. Krist....... Did you guys land in the same state as the DZ?

  • Wow that is really scary, and certainly an eye opener. Thanks very much for posting.

  • if take a couple of aspirin it will thin your blood and help with the headaches.

  • Friends don't let friends drive drunk! In this case you made an exception.

  • who the fuck let that idiot jump? fuckin people!!!

  • You let him jump???? Wow Mr. Run with Scissors that was a great idea!!

  • I am a skydiver who has done more than my fair share of 20K jumps with oxygen, doing tandem videos.

    I state without reservation:

ANYONE who let this guy exit the plane in this state is a FUCKING IDIOT.

You fucking people should have had the pilot descend immediately. That spazzing out he was doing at the beginning of the video was not the usual "I'm feeling a little buzzed" shit that people call "hypoxia".

That was full fledged "gonna pass out for who knows how long" shit.

    Fucking idiots.

  • @LCPStud

I've only just completed AFF, yes, a mere novice, and could not agree more. Even I can see this should never have happened. The door should have been closed LONG before his exit.

  • @dongkmeister I agree with your statement that the door should have been shut however would you blame the guy screaming for not shutting the door? Everybody in the plane was in the same mental state the guy screaming just had different physical symptoms. So when you fault anyone in that plane for not calling abort you are saying that the guy screaming is equally to blame. Does that seem right to you?

  • @BlueSkyRyan I didn't realise when I posted the comment that EVERYONE was hypoxic. I thought it was just the guy who fell out the door at the end, and the guy at the door was just being a spaz. My statement now looks a bit useless. I take it back.

  • @LCPStud First off this was above 20K and how many of those have you done where no one has oxygen? Read the description before you post or you risk looking like an idiot.

  • @BlueSkyRyan

What you are saying is "gee, don't yell at us, we were ALL so spaced out it didn't even register!"

    Bull-fucking-shit.

I've been hypoxic plenty of times (whoops, the DZO did not refill up the O2 bottle enough) but have never been so out of it that the guy spazzing out would not have set off major alarm bells with me or some other responsible adult on the plane.

I can only conclude that the DZ is staffed by 100 jump wonders and the DZO is off on perpetual vacation somewhere.

  • @LCPStud Usually the DZO is not the one to fill up the O2 bottle (unless you are from a armature DZ). That plus your ignorance on peoples (or your own) mental state indicate that you never been hypoxic. The DZ was one of the best in the world and not my home DZ so I don't care if you believe me. I took a look at your channel also and there are no skydiving videos... I have never seen this for a camera guy which leads me to believe you are just a guy that lies on the internet. Have a good day.

  • @LCPStud Short answer is yes and yes. If you did anything worth while in skydiving you would probably post it over the videos you have posted. And I have been to quite a few DZ's lately (21 since you have been out of the sport). I stand by my comments.

    Later Stud.

  • @LCPStud Yes, 21 since you stopped jumping. I do like data, so you got my number there. The reason I reply to you is I see you as a threat. For skydivers, there is something to be learned from this video and when you chalk it up to "idiot skydivers" that lesson can be lost. So yes I am putting some effort into this but I see it as useful and part of my responsibility as a skydiver. I have done plenty of stupid things to criticize but what you've said about this video is simply not true.

  • @BlueSkyRyan

Well, although I think you are wrong about the content of the video I am basically ok with your reasoning, so I guess it's a wash.

I know too many dead or broken folks, many of whom went in over stupid shit like no-pulls, hook turns (although my last canopy was a velocity 90 that I did like doing 270s on - but I have a few thousand jumps), or low cutaways. So I tend to take a dim view over shit like this.

Maybe I take it too seriously. BSBD

p.s. made a few visits to Idaho as well.

  • @LCPStud Looks like we have quite a few things in common... 90 velo is the best canopy. I have put 800 jumps on my 90 velo and am looking to put a second rig together with another one.

I too have seen too many people die because of poor decisions, and a poor decision was made here but it was on the ground in the prep... once the skydivers were hypoxic it was already too late.

    I appreciate the debate,

    Blue Skies,

    Ryan

  • @LCPStud P.S. I am in Michigan so no jumping until my winter trips south. ;)

  • As a commercial/instrument rated pilot it continually amazes me what pilots and jumping facilities get away with, put on video, and apparently the FAA turns their blind eye to it. This flight would have been a required IFR flight, perhaps it was? The aerobatic manouvers jump-planes do after the last jumper's exit is another eye-opener. I know that time in the air is money for a jump-plane, but the manouvers I've witnessed are both dangerous for the airframe, and illegal for the FARs.

  • @jesusisbetter and you know that how? do you sky dive? or have you seen a couple of youtube videos and thus generalize? Further, I would assume, though I dont know that most of these airspaces in which jumpplanes perform some of more of their extreme maneuvers are probably not frequented all too much by other planes (considering that just 60 seconds ago a couple of idiots with nylonfilled backpacks just dropped into that airspace). Further... don't all of these skydivers use oxygen as required?

  • this is unbelieveably stupid and unsafe. The pilot should have taken them down...

  • this is brutal!.. im a pilot and some things don't make sense to me.

were the pilots hypoxic? i'd kinda assume yes... that's a serious incident which legally requires reporting. if not, what were they thinking letting you guys jump out of the plane?! this is really bad man!

i know what being hypoxic is like and you don't really have any idea what you're doing. you could have easily taken off your chutes and jumped out thinking you were wearing them.

  • @italy430 Seems to me like a king air, and the door was open, so I think the pilots were in the cockpit, with the door closed and the cockpit pressurized, so they would have had their own air supply.

  • For those that keep saying "you guys are stupid..."

When you're hypoxic, of COURSE you're stupid. You don't know what's going on. You don't really know what you're thinking, doing. Try an altitude training program where you're required to count backwards, write your name, and demonstrate any level of dexterity.

Many folks can barely remember what happens in a controlled environment.

Yeah, it was dumb, but the people didn't know that they were being dumb because they couldn't think 4 themselves

  • @VASSTKid

No shit, that is the point.

By your logic it is OK to let your buddy slam shots and then get in the car for an hour long drive home, because "hey, we were all drunk, we didn't know any better!"

This shit can be avoided by having a jump-master who knows what the hell he is doing and doesn't exit with the first group out.

I did more than my fair share of stupid shit as a 200 jump wonder, but nothing THIS retarded.

High alt jumps CAN be done safely. But apparently not by you guys.

  • I couldn't imagine waking up falling at 12000 feet and saying, "where am I???"

  • In my opinion....Besides being long...besides the fact that the jumper would probably not become coherant enough to throw his pilot chute in the next 60 or so seconds after exit...Laying on his back in the door, scraping along on the floor could have dislodged his PC, out the door it goes ...still on his back inside, out goes his main.......while he's still inside. Bloody mess and maybe main takes out the tail. Bye bye everybody. Just my thoughts. Not his fault.

  • One thing is clear... by the time the last jumper leaves the plane, he was so far far way from the drop zone... he problaby landed in another city... Imagine it... don´t rembering much in a diferent place you should be... totaly freak...

  • Just curious.....above 18,000' you have to be flying IFR. Do you have to get special permission to jump above 18k ft?

  • ok so dude suffers from hypoxia and still is allowed to jump.

is this the Moronic Skydivers team? hey my grandmother is in a coma and i bet this crack pot bunch would have no problem strapping on a chute to her and throwing her out the door.

she just needs a little oxygen that's all.........

  • lol

  • Nice exit....it´s called R.I.P.

For fuck sake man, you could´ve all been killed.

It´s a stain in our sport...

    Glad nothing bad happened, though.

  • you let that guy jump !!!!!!!!!

If he had died, it would of been your fault... period

  • i'm not a skydiver but that didn't look right.

  • The two guys left in the plane with the Hypoxic, should have been experienced enough not to let that man near the door .... And one of them should have asked the pilot to decend asap .. PURE AND SIMPLE !!

  • Do you know the last guy left in the plane woke up an tried to get out at 4000 ft on the descend, and the guy with the camera (me) fell out the door and did not gain control for 6000 ft?

  • WTF that dude is a tard

  • Been there, done that. That was foolish. No telling where the spot was when that jumper finally fell out of the door. Pilot should have turned on red light and brought that jumper down. Was on World record attempts in 2000; we had O2 all the way to 21. I would not leave the plane in that condition. Did go to 18.5 once without 02 was starting to get thin but still clearheaded. That was not very smart.

  • That pilot should have been more aware of the O2 on board available for the pax before taking off. If you are gonna do a high alt. jump you should be aware of YOUR PERSONAL hypoxia symptoms. Then don't be afraid to speak up when you're feeling too good, chances are you are not the only one. If that pilot was on the same O2 system as the jumpers that would have been another plane load of jumpers in the news followed by tribute videos here on youtube. Let's avoid that!!!

  • WOW.... this is crazy. I promise you from now on when doign high altitude, I'm checking the O2 bottle to make sure it's full before I jump. I dont' care who the DZ is.

  • I disagree posting the video was a mistake though. Everyone watching should take away something from it. Yes, procedure mistakes were made before the aircraft even took off, but let them be lessons learned. Plus, many of us have never seen the full effects of hypoxia before. However, I do think it is a little tacky and in bad form to publicly laugh about this. The general public already thinks everyone in the sport is a Yahoo.

  • sick^^

  • I don't get it, what did go wrong? Aren't they all dressed up and ready for throwing themselves out? Sorry but i didn't understand what went wrong , can someone please tell me? Thanks

  • Angel: They are at 21,000 feet and their supplemental oxygen has failed. Their grey matter isn't getting enough O2. The guy struggling to get out is thinking one thing and one thing only: get out and down into heavier air. This doesn't happen in regular (under 16,000 feet) skydiving.

  • Thanks for clarifying. But in this case, why did the pilot not fly downwards? Besides, how did the pilot manage to breath if the skydivers couldn't?

    Thats Tough !

  • Angel: Very good question. I've never jumped over 15,000 but my speculation is that the pilot was on different (working) air. May have been completely oblivious as to extent of situation in the back. Jumpers didn't tell pilot because, remember, they are "out of it". Don't know when the O2 mechanical failure occurred, but the procedure failures occurred before this aircraft even took off.

  • 77artpunk: That is so sad, but I think they would have been better off jumping earlier.. I just happened to watch over these videos coz its queit exciting, but I have never spoken or knew anyone who did this ... u must be brave

  • Angel: It sounds like you would love skydiving! Find a local DZ and give it a try. Don't be intimated by these "when things go wrong" videos. Sure, there are some inherent risks, but if you stay within the safety margins, skydiving is a relatively safe sport. I consider it not only a physical sport, but also an intellectual, social, and even spiritual sport. Brave? Nope! I'm afraid of heights! I can't go on roofs or even walk up ladders! :-)

  • 77artpnk: I feels like I'm reading thoughts of som1 frm a diff. world, becuz me... I would never ever , dare jjumping from anywhere higher than my bed. I love excitement as long as its on utube. Love challenge, but Im too fragile for "general challenge" . I live ina place where sports is not our thing, I barely swim lol oh and I still cry out of fear when I get inside an airplane ! so skydiving and me r like 2 parallel lines dat nvr meet, but watching others wud be fun enuf 4 me :)

  • lol jesus christ!

  • I realize that everyone is "out of it", so its not the actions, but the fact this situation even occurred that is the most disturbing. Can see how in his mental state he wanted to "get out at all cost", but watching that container being scraped against the floor of the aircraft in the door was nerve wracking. I'm failing to find any humor in this.

  • disturbing.

  • Yea I have. Ever heard of the dumbest fucking response in history? That's what you just made. First of all how do you know the rig is equiped with one? Second of all why the fuck would you rely soley on an AAD? Let me take you up and let's tie your hands to your legstraps and through you out of a plane. Don't worry ever hear of a CYPRESS?

  • Noserider, your response shows great ignorance on hypoxia. I suggest you read some of the other posts regarding the mental state of EVERYONE in the cabin or simply Google the deffinition of hypoxia before you post again on something you apparently know nothing about.

Everyone lived, and laughed about it after... thanks for your concern.

    ~Ryan

  • then you are a god damn idiot too. If that is the logic you are going with then the pilot or DZO is 100% at fault. Check the fucking O2 system before you take a load up to 21,000.

  • Ha! noserider, don't look now but your ignorance is still showing. ;-) The Pilot apologized to everyone on the load taking responsibility. The lesson here is as a jumper learn how the flow meter works and check it before getting to a risky altitude. Once your hypoxic all reason is out the window.

This was my first and last high alt jump... I will never give up that much control again.

    ~Ryan

  • @BlueSkyRyan

    You mean EVERYBODY was hypoxic?

  • @dongkmeister

Pilot had oxygen the rest of us were without.

  • @dongkmeister

Pilot had oxygen the rest of us were without.

  • Straight awsome!

  • thats crazy noone stopped him for slowly crawing out in that state!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha the guy juste baaaarely slide outside lol, i hope he's ok

  • You'll wake 100% by 14,000 feet and still have a "jump" left.

It's like a wippet. Comes slow but goes away fast

  • that whole flight should have been scrapped before it got off the ground due to the O2 issue.

  • Someone should have stopped this jump. Surely one of the remaining people had enough sense left to realize something was seriously wrong.

  • Cannot believe that no-one stopped that (including the pilot).... How far off did you land after that 2 minute jump run?

  • So if the pilot did have hypoxia, how did he manage to land safely as he decends alot slower than the guys skydiving, by the way i havent been in the sport long so apologies if this question sounds stupid.

  • Damn, Woke up while you were falling?

    How cool is that!!

And to all who think they are crazy, if they let Massa drive his ferrari with 1 eye, beleve me he would!!!!!

    RESPECT!

  • What's wrong with the last guy? :D

  • Out of Oxygen

  • lol, i need captain obvious to be my squad leader :/

  • Did the pilot scream, "Go"!?

Bad loss of personal control Mr. Pilot. No reason to loose your cool like that.

But I love the way the chick just points to her head as if to say, "What an amateur UR." And, she never offers any of her O2 to the poor skydiver. Typical woman!!

  • That's the funniest feckin exit I've ever seen!! I know it's serious and shouldn't laugh but I nearly wet my pants!!

  • Dragging unconscious man out of plane = Priceless

  • That is crazy, weird!! I'm like 'what the hell are those two doing?'

  • whats the point if u cant remember the jump ? i hope no one has mistaken ur stupidity with bravery, i could scuba to 60m stay the too long and get Decompression sickness but i dont coz its pointless ! same thing with skydiving i find 15,000ft is perfect

  • The secret without oxygen is... go to 18 000 very quickly breath deep and relaxed, dont waste time on run-in.

  • OMG! So dangerous.

  • A horror show! What if the guy on the floor had a premature opening? This is no better than jumping completely drunk or on drugs! A shame to our sport!

  • good actor simulate hypoxia :)

  • was that the pilot shouting "Go!" at the end of the vid?

I find this quite a worrying video to watch - I'm not gonna bitch or whine but I'd have at least given him some of my air - he was wigged out something rotten at the end of that vid there!

glad your all okay tho and hope that chap is too!

    blues

    ant

  • weird. wtf

  • Im a diver and i tasted hypoxia at deep diving, but in a airplane??? wtf...

  • the closer you get to outer space, the less air there is.

brain needs oxygen to function properly, this dude was severely intoxicated.

  • everyone is different. i got to participate in a hypoxia test a couple of years ago. 38,000' with 100% o2. after removal of o2 within 10 sec my heart was racing and my color vision went. by 15 sec my vision was closing out to blindness but my thoughts were clear. other people had their vision but but couldn't do the simple 1+2=3 type math problems. at lower altitudes, i experienced the same effects, though they took longer to effect me.

  • dude the pilot should have called that shit about 2 minutes before t hat video ended. stupid shit right there. thank god for AADs

  • wot the fark?

  • That was very shady looking. If that person got hurt it looks like a lawsuit. Clearly didn't seem fit to leave the plane. But what do I know?

  • Yikes, that second last jumper to exit didn't look like he knew what he was doing. This jump could have been an opportunity to see if your AAD works if your rig has one. The moral of this story is if the oxygen system malfunctions just exit at a lower altitude than originally planned before the effects of hypoxia set in.

  • Looks like a "Greek" door position for the penultimate guy out...

  • That's great they got out and down to a lower altitude as it's the only cure for hypoxia, but what happened to the pilot and the cameraman? They must have been hypoxic too, right? Did they descend and land the plane ok?

  • stupid, he woke op on 12000 feet? wow that's pretty stupid

  • who the heck was in charge of that jump? 21000ft, no fuking dicipline no emurgency rocedures ,pilots do nothing , perfect conditions to die !,

never go to that drop zone, unless you wanna self suicide

  • Heh, bit of redundancy in that statement, but otherwise understandable.

  • This is maybe the worst choice i've ever seen.

As skydivers know, Skydiving allow human to experiment body flying (whatever the type of flight you like or want to do) but it requires good control, knownledge and safety rules (doobedoo22). So jumping by a plane at that circunstancies, at least for me, doesn't make sense. Happy to know that nothing bad happends to that guy, but man, don't use to do this, and don't allow this happens, please and thanks.

  • Three comments:

    1. Get an AAD, and use it. You never know when you might pass out - or get kicked in the head by somebody who doesn't know how to fly.

    2. Never feel obliged to keep silent when you see unsafe practices at a drop zone. Your whistle-blowing could save your life - or mine.

    3. Glad you survived this one! Check the roots of your fingernails, and if they're going grey... don't jump. You're hypoxic.

  • They must of landed quite aways from there destined drop zone too???

  • oh man...that guy looked like he was drunk. Maybe someone should HOLD him down next time?

  • if this isnt a fake i would really wouldnt upload something like this...he actually dragged the rig along the sit till the door and the exit was...dangeours at least, would be dead if he had an opening right at the door with his state of concioussnes

  • And for fucks sake people, stop saying they should have tried to stop them from getting out. The only guy that was somewhat consience tried his best, but as you can see no one could have done anything. Glad everyone was ok.

  • You should take this off youtube. Too many people are too stupid to realize what hypoxia does and from looking at all the comments, everyone thinks it was all their fault. And the people who say they're skydivers and still think the people who jumped are retards, are probably not skydivers. Or did one tandem or aff jump and think they're hot shit and know everything.

  • hey brother.... that was creepy!! WOW.. thank God that your friend woke up at 12´000... please.. dont do it again

  • tvandijck, was you the one who video taped this? Are you the one in the front pointing to the guy as he was working his way to the back of the plane? Someoen should have stopped him from jumping, lucky for him that he didn't die and anyone who say he was under distress would have to have lived the rest of their lives knowing they allowed someone to die. When I was actively jumping, we always looked out for each other, honestly, we have to or others will think we are all idiots!

  • Was this Mike Mullins' King Air? I jumped from it before at 22,000 but he checked with everyone to ensure that the oxygen system was in deed working. Who ever at the last said go for the guy on the floor, is a true idiot himself as this guy was out of it. I have been on a plane before at 15,000 for an extended period of time because of cloud cover and no oxygen on board because it wasn't planned to take long to exit but it did. I remember fealing loopy and everyone was laughing.

  • dude what the fuck?

  • Half coherent people shouldn't be throwing themselves out of planes. When the pilot saw this, he should have turned on the red light. Was he suffering from hypoxia too? Well, I'm glad that everyone made it out of there okay.

  • Idiots. This is bad for the sport. This really pisses me off.

  • They were all hypoxic, as it says. Decisions were bad, but for all you who don't know, effects of hypoxia fades very fast, once brain get enough oxygen. So, I don't say that wasn't irrensponsible, but they couldn't know that for sure. And they were prepared for jump, but oxygen system fails. Not by their fault...So you couldn't just hang those people by their necks. They prepared for jump, and thought that oxygen system wokrs fine. I bet that no one of them is newbie...So?

  • WTF why would you let that guy, who obviously is not in full control of himself, get out of the plane.

Seriously - that's fucked up. Do yourselves a favour and quit the sport before you kill someone. He could barely move, how do you expect him to pull?

  • U can't read?

Those guys are hypoxic. They did not know what they're doing.

21000 feet sucks if the oxygen system fails...

  • that looked like a pretty long jump run

  • Tell me, how many jumps and ratings do you have that makes you think you have any idea what the circumstances were and why they should quit the sport?

  • I've been jumping for just over 2 years and after my initial comment on the video did some research into hypoxia - it's not something I have got personal experience with and hope never to, I think it was highly irresponsible to put the video on youtube especially since the guy who put it up seems to think it was such a laugh and nothing serious - I think it's that attitude more than the actual actions at the time that I have a problem with.

  • u're a jumper and you knew NOTHING about hypoxia? that's really sad..

  • Well unfortunately hypoxia isn't something they include in basic training, or for that matter any skydive training unless you're doing a jump over 15,000 feet. I didn't think I was jumping from an altitude where hypoxia would ever be be an issue so didn't see much need to research it - I am sure there are still many jumpers who may have been jumping for many years who know nothing about hypoxia.

  • ok, but now u know about the danger, take care, it can cost you your life

  • Over 18.000ft there is a high probability to get hypoxia

  • over 10,000ft after around a half hour and you've got hypoxia

  • crazys, im skidiver from argentina, why he doesn´t help your friend? it is no good for sports.

Locos, soy paracaidista de argentina. Porque el no ayudo a sus amigo? esto no es bueno para el deporte.

  • Who are these people!?. I wanted to go sky diving one day but after seeing that I dont know what to say!?. I agree that these guys should be band from sky diving cause that one BIG fuck up!!!!.... Also they could put other people in great danger....

  • That's the stupidest thing I've seen on YouTube. I'm a skydiver (HALO trained), pilot and jumped from 30,000 feet. For the comments on this video from the armchair adventurers and "pseudoscientists" below, you don't realise how dangersous this was. From what I saw several people could have died.

If anyone knows the dropzone that did this jump, they should post their name to warn others.

  • I completely agree, as a pilot myself, this is so dangerous- the jumpmaster and operator should lose their tickets for this

  • Perhaps even the DZO as well, this video had me wide-eyed and worried from start to finish at 2:30 AM.

  • Ya man, that was whacked. I am an old pilot but a new skydiver.

  • That was by far the dumbest thing i have ever seen!!!!!! It makes me sad that people that dumb can get a license to jump! they make us all look like "yahoos" that dont know what the fuck we are doing. keep doing shit like that you wont be in the sport 4 long. And 4 all you Idiots who dont know what Hypoxia is... it is the begining stages of your BRAIN SHUTING DOWN, im talking to every one who was on that load. I hope to never see any of you where i jump. I'll pull your reserve on site!!

  • 1 I'm a pilot

    2 I'm a skydiver

3 I have had high altitude chamber traing.

    My observations:

Everyone on the plane had hypoxia to different degrees.

My guess -the plane oxygen system failed.

I also wonder if the pilot was hypoxic.

lucky the jumpers had automatic opening devices.

  • whats up with all these pussys whining....skydivers...along with myself risk life everytime we jump....i just wish my local drop zone would alow jumps from that high...we got a 14,000 foot limit.

  • Hi, well im starting my AFF 7th Aug (Can't wait :) i hear most places wont let you jump above 15K there must be places that let you jump higher, also, i personally dont think skydiving is that risky, what do you think?

  • Its not risky if you are responsible......but you got know that you are pretty much dead intill your chute opens....But thats the risk that I and every other skydiver and/or BASE jumper takes to enjoy the greatest sport in the world.

  • Yea, 99.9% of all skydiving fatalities are human error. Miss packing parachute, too much thought process during a chute malfunction, not knowing your equipment (not knowing which handle to pull - yes it's happened) just to name a few.

People risk their lives every day without even knowing it. If I'm going to die young I want it to be from taking a risk I know I'm taking and not that I died doing something boring like say walking down the sidewalk or driving my car.
