  • Good Tutorial. I'm using an updated version of this though so I kinda found it hard to follow up at first but i managed somehow. I would just like to ask if CSS3 and JQuery works good in Appcelerator? I created a magazine app using phonegap and the performance is horrible. I would like to know if the performance of jquery and css3 somehow improves in Appcelerator. Thanks!

  • @babsnaidas Both CSS3 and jQuery would be implemented using a WebView, which is the same as what you were doing with Phone Gap. So no, it wouldn't be any better. It would be equally terrible. I generally try to avoid Web Views at all costs. They are resource intensive and sluggish.

  • Hey dude great tutorial very useful. I was just wondering why when I use titanium Now-A-Days I don't get that template you got. Is there a way I can get this template considering our presentation for the project is in 3 weeks :l

  • Thanks a lot!! I just started with appcelerator, and this was a great help!! :)

  • Thank you so much for this, I've been looking for materials forever and your videos are incredibly well done and useful compared to the useless tons of stuff there's around...

    cheers man

  • I probably need Adobe CS5/4

  • where can I download the Iphone SDK?

  • @MrDeyzel developer.apple.com

  • These are the best Appcelerator tutorials that I have seen so far.

    Any plans for more?

    John

  • @johnbmtl at the time I authored them (Spring 2010), I was teaching a class on it. Not sure if I'll do more on Titanium SDK, but I do have an ongoing series on the Corona SDK (check the channel page).

  • @cheetomoskeeto I've never heard of Corona. How does it compare to Appcelerator for iPad app development?

    John

  • @johnbmtl hard to compare as it depends what you need. Titanium is more a table-based app SDK; Corona is OpenGL based and often used for games (though there are many non-games that use it). If you are coding a stock iOS app that uses various of the 'views', Titanium has more options. But truthfully, I'd still consider Corona as it is very easy to use, robust, and the community is very strong.

  • make money online! no skill just patience /watch?v=BMPhsRN19Ms

  • Good tutorial, thx alot !!

  • bravo Dr. Rafael! I like your tutorial.

  • I was just wondering, do you use this for the icon and spash and corona for the app?

  • Thanks, Just the kind of casual intro to Ti i needed!

  • thnx for this tutorial :D

  • Do i need to have a Mac (apple) computer to do this?

  • @H0LYBeFF As iPhone development and app deployment is restricted to Mac, yes, you need a Mac to do this.

  • Thank you for your efforts

  • Boom. You just made my day.

  • Thank you so much for sharing! Much appreciated!

  • Good tutorial, but your mouse click is burrowing into my brain!

  • I cant use the emulator or compile it.. its just blank

  • i cant even change the product type... my "new project" window looks different...

  • For some reason, it says iPhone SDK found, but there's an X

  • Great tutorial! Thanks a lot!!!
