  • Thanks for watching Cathy's video she's so glad that you enjoyed it! The stuff in her kits is vintage and no longer being made. Just like with everything else thats vintage, it can be found in many places and for various prices. Her kits contain looms and an original instruction book as well as a resource sheet (sources for supplies, links to tutorials, etc.) as well as a close up photo of the flower board (as seen in the video) so you can be inspired by vintage flowers!

  • this was really interesting, where can I buy a kit like that in the uk? I don't think your video mentioned where one can buy your packs.

  • omg i used to make these when i was a little girl

  • hey Cathy looks like Edna Moda (from the incredibles) xD

    just thinking xD

anyway, where i can get that kits,i want to make flowers :3!!

its so lovely! excellent for to decorate gifts, postcards or anything X3

    great idea =P

  • Me too, the flowers are very beautiful. Where can we find these tools?

  • There was 5.00 shipping, but it was still pretty inexpensive, because they are really fun to make!

  • I THINK the needle is called a tapestry needle.

  • I was thinking a yarn darner...I'm not sure tho either.

  • This brings back memories. I remember my grandmother gave me an old wooden empty spool of thread that had 4 headless pins in a square formation around the middle hole of the spool. You weave your thread around the pins and inside with a needle and thread which eventually created a weaving in a tube formation that as you finished would come out the bottom from the inside of the spool hole. She took the tube weaved, sewed it in a spiral formation and made a rug for my doll house :D

  • Americans say knitting knobby, Germans say Liesle. At home we said spool-tool or nail-knitter (made from a spool with 4 nails on one flat, 6 or 8 nails on the other flat. Craft stores sell them plastic or wood, and Bond-America online sells hand-crank's that make up yards of cord very fast. Yes, lots of memories.

  • I go to yard sales occasionally and see these kits all the time :D I use to have some looms like this. Well, more of a variation of these. I had one that had thin metal rods incased in plastic, and there was a knob that you turned at the bottom that made the spokes go in and out of the incasement. You would wrap your yard on the spokes, stitch the center so that the flower held, then turned the knob and the spokes would disappear into the encasement releasing the flower you made. :D

  • i want a kit!!! must try it!

  • Oh! How interesting! They are so colorful! I'm sure my friend would LOVE one of these! I must try!

  • thank you so much for posting this! i have something new to try!

  • I LOVE this, how do I get my hands on one of those kits??

  • ebay

  • with Cathy Callahan of Cathy of California.

  • I think this is more for the ladies?

  • Wow, I absolutly love this video, my great grandmother has straw pot holders from the 70's and they have those flower designs. cool.
