  • This just hits the spot...

  • Is that Fats on Piano?

  • Let's face it, no one nowadays could belt this out like Lloyd could.

    Love it so much.

    Thanks for posting.

  • 0 dislikes power of lloyd price

  • Peggy Sue Got Married

  • BRINGS BACK A LOT OF MEMORIES FORREST IN DALLAS

  • slow dancing at the sock hop - remember? Aw was great

    thanks brownprideroldies2

  • Yep, I just heard the LP version on on the radio ,and it really hit home. This one sounds like someone hit it with a file

  • OMG! This is sooo good. Love the lyrics! Thanks for posting :). I've loved this one since I first heard it in the movie "Peggy Sue got married".

  • lloyd used the same melody to make at least two other songs (on specialty). they are "lonely chair" and "i wish your picture was you"

  • I can't say enough great stuff about Lloyd Price....he's the MOST, even now 50 years later when he was in prime time........

  • Good Stuff.

  • Easily my favorite Lloyd Price song

  • based on "a little Word" by fellow New Orleans citizens Shirley & Lee which traces lead back to classical music. Listen to Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto Opera" and you'll find out why.

  • @dakarlion1 Can u b more specific? What do u mean "traces lead back to classical music"? And what passage in RIGOLETTO do u refer 2? Thanks.

  • Man, I've got this cut on 78, this is the first time I have ever heard the digital remaster version" and I got to say, they are doing a great injustice to the great LLoyd Price with this shitty remaster.

turn your life around, buy a turntable and hear this music the way it was ment to be heard.

  • @bugsycline It can't be that much better. Depends on the speakers you play it through and stuff too.

  • One of my favorites my him!

  • oh parties in L.A 1961.....am i right?

  • I remember the stroll. They did a lot of it on Dick Clark's American Bandstand. About 20 yrs. ago, Chubby Checker was on stage at Disneyland in California. He asked for the audience to go up and join him doing the stroll. I wanted to go up so badly but my teenage children wouldn't let me go up there. I was about 50 yrs. old then, I guess I would have embarrassed them, or so they thought. I regret listening to them, for who are they to tell me what to do???? lol

  • Just love this song! It brings back my teenage years some 50 years +. Why can't they make songs like these any more?

  • Una de las grandes obras maestras de la musica popular, maravillosa, absolutamente perfecta la interpretacion y el acompañamiento de los musicos.

  • Yep, this is a strand song!

  • I remember listening to this throughout my childhood. Mom Dad Grandma Grandpa would all dance to it. I'm only 31. Great Oldie!

  • this was in the motion picture "Peggy Sue Got Married"

  • This is such a good song!!

Love to dance to it. Does anyone remember the "Stroll".

    Thanks so much.

  • When it was popular, the kids in Philly did an "upbeat" slow dance to it called The Strand. Another"Strand" song was Johnnie and Joe's "Over The Mountain."

  • So fine, love it.
