Caught these guys in the early 70's when they were the Pez Band...Cliff was a fab showman back then too.
Back then they played original stuff like "Alley Salley" and covers. Their version of Fleetwood Mac's "Tell Me" was better than FM. IMHO...they were a more polished band than the other club fave at the time...REO Speedwagon.
Love Off Broadway! I grew up in Rockford & was in High School when OB hit, still have the worn out cassette from those days...found the CD "On" on eBay!
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!
Go to Live365.com, type OFFTHECHARTS in the Search box and click on the station logo. The audio stream should begin. Become a VIP member and listen commercial free!

wow they still sound great, Still have the record and cd.."On" I live in florida music changes so fast here but people still have to ask whos that? when I play it
One of the best bands of all time- in my mind they were and still are huge. Seen them dozens of times and they never disappoint- they have so many great songs. Singer Cliff has a solo CD out as of late 2008. Also listen to their version of Tonight on Rasberries tribute CD-damn good.
I had several of their 45's back in the late 70's from a radio station and burned out the grooves. Finally got the CD's a few years ago. Plus they have a fairly new CD that is just as good as their 70's stuff. G R E A T B A N D ! !
My uncle (Rob Harding) was in this band, I didn't know that or who they were until recently. It's so cool that you guys like their music and shit, He's now my main influence for starting a band, just wait and see will be huge (too bad it's not very likely that we will..)
holy crap! they did a reunion. One of the first record I ever bought with my own money was this single. That B-Side "Full Moon" was so great, I actually liked it better than this song. But this is a good single, too.
Cool! I never knew that! Saw them in Oshkosh 1981, w/the Tubes. Awesome night! (this was before 'awesome' was 'awesome' :-)) As a re-located Chicagoan, these guys were a real touchstone.
Someday i'm going to try and bribe these guys to play a block party. This would be so... awesome!
I drove from GB to Appleton in 1981 when I was 16 & just got my license. Drove from near Madison a few years ago to see them on a Thursday in Oshkosh. Good memories, fun times!
Agreed. Their songwriting, showmanship, and musicianship were memorable. I remember seeing them at clubs like Hueys in Chicago, and bigger shows like the Star Theater in Merrillville. The way the lead guitarist used to fling the guitar around his body was amazing! WE GOT A BEAT...WE GOT A GOOD GOOD BEAT... This has got to win the all-time "MOST UNDER-VIEWED GREAT VIDEO ON YOUTUBE" award. Thanks for posting this.

John Ivan was the original lead guitarist. After he left Rob Harding took over his duties and Mike Redmond was brought in to play Robs old parts.

Cliff is a great singer. I think he ranks up there with Robin Zander.
