have a 2002 just hit the gas more before 3000 rpm cuz then the transmission wont shift just past it like what it did to u itll give u the solid vtec sound ;P
What work? the intake cost 20 bucks and took me 10 mins to put in... and this Accord doesnt come in a manual with the V6... Plus as much as I love driving stick, i have a 20 miles commute to work in traffic, you can sit in that in a stick but not me.
odometer LED is gone. I thought I was the only one :)
my 2002 V6 EX-L, same color same interior, and same crappy transmission. But when I drive it, it is so smooth and juicy that I forget about the transmission.
haha yup, the odometer has been like that since 2008 and has gotten worst ever since :( How many miles are on yours? I was driving around my sisters 2002 Acura TL and I can't believe how much quicker it feels. I really do hate the 4AT in this car. It always leaves the engine feeling breathless with the AC on. My tranny only nudges when shifting from 1st to 2nd, every other shift is liquid smooth thankfully. I just can't wait to get a VW GTI or Focus ST next year lol
mine is 109k. . the tranny gives a slight nudge when i am shifiting with v-tech engaged. but other than that it is cool. try this. when you are driving normally, try keeping the gas paddle steady steel between 2k-3k rpm and it will always shift seamlessly
haha actually its got the stock exhaust on it and its the original mufflers too. The intake isn't even a brand name, its just an aftermarket unit i got on ebay for like 40 bucks but it makes a pretty decent sound for not being a brand name :)
yeah its been doing that for years... prolly since 2008. Its annoying but it still comes back after a few mins of driving. Funny thing is, the instrument panel on this Accord is sourced from Ford LOL
yeah i want to buy an intake for my car also it has VVT and you can hear it kick in at 4500 RPM just like your honda but i bet an intake will give my impala a deeper more agressive sound seeing that most GM v6s have a natural deep growl to them
Love the sound of those V6 VTEC's! I was actually looking for a used Accord to get into when my Mercury Sable's transmission died, but no such luck for the price range we were going for... I ended up with a 2001 Nissan Sentra.
lol thanks! You are better off with a compact car like the Sentra now tho. This V6 sounds great and is smooth as silk but the gas mileage is awful (18 city and 26 highway). Especially now with gas at $3.64 a gallon, it makes me wish I had my new Focus now lol
@xoquixxoqafxo Yeah, if there's one thing I love about my car it's the awesome gas mileage (26 city, 33 highway), but if there's one thing i HATE it's the 11 second 0-60 time. Ugh.. lol
DAMN. 11 secs? That sucks dude haha Compacts 10 years ago were awful lol. Its amazing how far most models have come today. They can hit 60 in under 9 secs with their 6 speed autos and get 40 mpg on the highway.
@xoquixxoqafxo I have a 2004 Sentra and it went around 9 sec stock, dropped in a K&N and it goes 8.5 sec and I get 28 city/35 hwy, not bad for a 7 year old car with 103k miles
@2004NissanSentra Wow.. well maybe there is something wrong with my car then. I don't believe they changed anything from 2001 to 2004, yet my car still goes from 0-60 in about 11 seconds!
@2000mercurysable I live in CA so the emissions might have something to do with it, they have a swirl valve in the intake that's supposed to suck more air in and the gas has more complete combustion. Nothing should be wrong with your car tho, it could be just the emission setup
Well, I think it sounds a hell of a lot better than those stupid ricer civics with the fart cans lol My car can easily smoke them too. I can even keep up with stock 06 and up Si's ;)
if you're worried about getting into trouble with a Honda Accord....a Focus ST would really test your ability to be able to keep you driver's license hahaha
Its funny bc my first car was a SLOW as 96 Camry 4 cylinder. (Reliable but soo boring) and when my sister bought it in 07, I got my first speeding ticket in 08 than another one again this year... -_- The problem is this car is soo smooth and quiet that at 80 mph it feels like 60 mph and at 60 you feel like you arent even moving lol
yeah the funny thing is, everytime i take it to the honda dealers, some of the idiot service advisers dont know how to get the odometer to come back lol
Love sonic haha. Holy crap that car sounds omg words cant describe. And its damn fast it seems. Moves quite nicely. Damn, makes me want to put an intake on my moms odyssey ;) I would still buy one with the tranny probs. I would miss the growl of a V6 hehe
lol well I have a feeling you are a GM fan so I'll try my best not to offend you, I've driven several at work, they are OK. Nothing special for me at least. I'd first take an F-150 than a Ram, followed by the Chevy. They were a nice redesign back when Chevy first introduced them but other competitors have caught up thats all.
Long ram or Short ram intake?
