There is no scientific evidence that beauty is a physical property of anything and science explains the natural world and how it works without invoking imaginary things like beauty. Religious people often pity atheists. They think that because they need god it would be terrible to be without god. On the other hand atheists think that needing to believe in a superstitious, judgemental, limiting god in order to give you moral and psycological support to get you though your life is deeply sad and somewhat cowardly. Faith is a crotch that atheists don't need.
Actually, atheism without transhumanism *is* kinda sad. You live a short life full of limitations and suffering, and then you vanish forever. The only reason I'm not totally depressed and nihilistic is because I believe that technology might liberate me from this miserable existence one day. Another reason why I see atheism to be sad is that there is nothing to hope for. Based on logic and fact, your life will never improve. you will grow old, lose vision, hearing, strength, and beauty, and when you have nothing left to lose, you die. And that's it. Atheists do not believe in god(s) because there is no reason to suggest their existence, and god(s) can't be brought forth. They play no role in our lives. @crangeyw11 You have the entire thing backwards.Doing good deeds and being nice OUT of context is a much less selfish thing that with the context of God. if you add the context of God to a good deed, then you are doing that deed in fear of God and Hell. You do the good deed only so you may receive entrance to Heaven. It's when you remove the fear of god, or the reward of heaven that you are doing a completely unselfish deed. You get no reward other than to know that you helped another human.
Sorry to say this, but atheism is sad. I used to think it was just neutral or something, but now I am genuinely convinced that atheists are somehow sad.
First of all, my friend, rather an acquantence, has a better life than me. He has friends, family, ipods, computers, etc. He has a boyfriend (yea he's gay), and he's proud, but he's still sad. He is also mean to most of his friends and his father. My life sucks, though I am happy. His life is awesome, although he is a sad atheist.

Jesus never doubted his faith. Jesus was God in the flesh. Hebrews said, that he came in the flesh to understand the temptations of a man. He seperated himself from being all powerful in order to fully see what it was like to be a mortal man. God exist outside of the realms that we know of. Atheism is incredibly sad - and the saddest part to me is how insistent they are on "disproving" religion. Isn't the other person afraid of Hell? Worried about failing to live up to life's purpose? Feeling constricted by the commandments? I think every religion/philosophy/whatever has pros & cons. We each weigh them differently. That's why not everyone is the same religion. An open-minded person can see the beauty in more than one thing.
it is sad because you dont know the dangers ahead if you continue with that belief, its not an outside force, God is in you, so is the devil, the 2 forces wars against each other, the devil wins if you reject God and the good that you know to do will eventually get less and less, this is why you hear many do things and people say they dont understand why, he was such a nice or good man. Religious people often pity atheists. They think that because they need god it would be terrible to be without god. On the other hand atheists think that needing to believe in a superstitious, judgemental, limiting god in order to give you moral and psycological support to get you though your life is deeply sad and somewhat cowardly. Actually, atheism without transhumanism *is* kinda sad. You live a short life full of limitations and suffering, and then you vanish forever. The only reason I'm not totally depressed and nihilistic is because I believe that technology might liberate me from this miserable existence one day. Atheists do not believe in god(s) because there is no reason to suggest their existence, and god(s) can't be brought forth. They play no role in our lives. People say, "god is real" well, I say Santa Claus is coming to town = if we're going to build a society with that mentality, we're doomed. So by default, god(s)= non-existent until proven otherwise.

You know, I respect your view of the world, I really do, I have only one thing to interject, you said at one point that all people who have faith go through a stage of doubt, this is true. however, as an atheist you too, have faith, you have to trust in what you believe and have faith in what isn't known, so in a sense, both you (as an atheist) and I (as a Christian) have faith in one form or another. You do the good deed only so you may receive entrance to Heaven. It's when you remove the fear of god, or the reward of heaven that you are doing a completely unselfish deed. You get no reward other than to know that you helped another human.

Sorry to say this, but atheism is sad. I used to think it was just neutral or something, but now I am genuinely convinced that atheists are somehow sad.
First of all, my friend, rather an acquantence, has a better life than me. He has friends, family, ipods, computers, etc. He has a boyfriend (yea he's gay), and he's proud, but he's still sad. He is also mean to most of his friends and his father. My life sucks, though I am happy. His life is awesome, although he is a sad atheist.

He seperated himself from being all powerful in order to fully see what it was like to be a mortal man. God exist outside of the realms that we know of. On the flip side there is no proof for a god either. Jesus did not doubt his faith? Maybe not his faith, but in the story of Gethsemane he asked twice to not have to atone. This makes no difference to me, as there is no proof it happened at all; the bible itself is not proof.

The existence of God can be proven if you seek his existence. He has shown Himself to me an I saw Him. Not with my eyes but with my heart. And you know its the Almighty God b/c its the strongest feeling you ever will feel. ITS UNEXPLAINABLE b/c it's supernatural and its something each and every person has to see for themselves. Atheism is incredibly sad - and the saddest part to me is how insistent they are on "disproving" religion. I am as opposed to religion in politics, culture and judicial law as anyone else, but I don't go around to videos on atheism saying ATHEISM IS WRONG LOL. Only atheists and extremist religious types are concerned about that shit. Why can't we just believe whatever we want (or not believe, I guess) and just leave it at that?
Angry atheists are on par with extremists as far as I'm concerned.

Like I said, you get some elements of that, but for the most part, we're pretty calm.
