Most of the "Witches" weren't burnt or hanged mostly regular people who were wealthy were burnt and hanged so others could reep their property and farming lands etc. Most "Witches" were left untouched if they were quiet about what they did.

I thought I had seen a video on Salem before - have you read or seen the play 'The Crucible' by Arthur Miller? - we're studying it now for our Drama GCSE - it's based in 1692 on the Salem Witch Trials, Elizabeth & John Proctor etc.

I'm thinking of coming to America one day and visiting the house and dungeon, it'd be amazing to see where this all took place in person :D

The thing is that in 1692 there were no witches in Salem, only 20 innocent people who were hanged as witches in a time when puritans feared the devil. No one was burned at the stake!
