  • This is just like a dream I had the other night. Except I was on drums!

  • i believe in they.....

  • HAHA they did this for john kerry but THE BETTERMAN won .

  • There's "No description available." because there are no fucking words in the universe to describe this

  • These guys have no egos in their heart .. just rockin' roll ..

  • Bossman, Vedderman and Clarenceman !!

  • Great song although its almost like The Boss is trying to hard!

  • This video's a very poor audio quality ...But poor quality can't stop this melody going straight to the mind and heart. Emotion is not a matter of ears and sound quality...and what goes straight to the heart would be the same even if recorded with a 640 x 480 cellphone. You don't hear Emotion, you just feel it.. and this is not a song, it's 379 seconds of deep, pure Emotion

  • Vedder own Springsteen

  • Bruce doesn't hold a candle to Eddie

  • Your not allowed to dislike

  • Clarence!

  • it must be an amazing feeling to perform with people you admire. Ed played with musicians like Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen to his own childhood favorites like Pete Townshend and The Who.

  • while these guys are rocking out on guitar,no one can hear what they're playing

  • awesome. Well deserved for writing a classic song!

  • If Vedder had been told that Springsteen would sing a song of his alongside him on stage one day, he would've woken up right there and then. A nice moment, regardless.

  • two legends...

  • wow, the part with the saxophone! :D

Not the best performance by Bruce but hey! Eddie Vadder just sang with one icon!

  • Honestly I don't like Springsteen in this song, its sounds really meh... I expected a lot better.

  • shut up. seriously. c'mon. my worlds keep colliding!

  • Epic pairing, great stuff!

  • wow, bruce is in a totally different um...scale? idk, hes great and all, but leave this song to eddie. he is my babys daddy. she dreams in color, she dreams in red. cant find a better man.

  • beautifull........................love

  • this song sounded better with this drummer and dave abbruzzese only, no with matt or jack behind on drums

  • definitely coulda done without Bruce.....sorry

  • @Beatleshell I get what you're saying... but that was passion he gave us there. It wasn't the most impressive singing (and I'm not a Bruce fan, generally). I /felt/ his performance there. I think I am a richer man for getting to experience that, even here on this lil' website.

  • @elraver well it would have been cool to be there

  • será que mis oidos estan acostumbrados de oir a eddie que cuando escucho canciones de él en otros artistas del nivel que sea, no me termina de gustar...... bueno en el caso del señor Young me tiene que gustar por cojones

  • Did i sticky head up Patti Scialfa's squish mitten? Cause my ears are in heaven!

  • first,I was like wow!, then I was like 'meh'

  • Worth watching just to see Clarence gettin' after it one more time....

  • It was so obvious when Bruce started to sing that Eddie showed far better mic control, at first it seemed like the old schoolling the younger, but I really feel it was left with mutual admiration. The song is a great song, and both artist are greats in their own right.

  • now, both are better men...

  • Bruce may be The Boss and I will never dispute that, but Eddie is the man :)

  • ese cabron la canta como cn hueva jajajaja y eddie x supuesto no tiene comparacion...

  • @mdflyhalf "So please no comparisons" And what you did?!?!?!?

  • Can't stop watching this - Brilliant!

  • I'd classify them both as icons! The both have a cover song here and there. Maybe Bruce has a few more but good Lord he's been recording since before 8 tracks!!

  • Damn this is so damn perfect...HEAVEN!

  • The Boss showing everyone how it's done!!!

  • Ok asshole I didn't say they didnt have albums iout Nor did I say Eddie never wrote hsi own material...Dont be another YouTube asshole and read things into statements that ony you see....My message was that Eddie Vedder is not a great songwriter...certainly not even in teh same conversation as Bruce...Christ even Eddie will tell you that..hes a huge Bruce fan OK lets hear your rant.

  • Vedder to me is more known for his cover songs than his original music.

  • @mdflyhalf lmfao huh?I guess you've never listened to a PJ album then,bc I could have sworn they have like 9 of them out...OH wait those albums are all cover song's,my bad....

  • @mdflyhalf Then listen to his original stuff. Easy enough really.

  • Eddie has a nice voice. Springsteen's while not great is unique But Springsteen's ability to write songs puts Vedder to shame. So please no comparisons.

  • Great tune,. Miss Clearence C.. R.I.P !

  • eddie and clarence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yep It is an EPIC performance.

  • clarence bruce and eddie,,,,,,,,,,,, bliss

  • Is it not cool to say EPIC anymore? I grew up listening to the Boss and rocked out to Pearl Jam as a teen. To me, this is EPIC!

  • i couldnt tell the difference between the boss and vedder.....still awesome

  • This is special - unless you were there - its historic. YT is the only thing that can make it possible for the rest of the world to hear the miracle of this unity. GREAT POST - THANK YOU!

  • Superb version, great to see my two heros together on stage - RIP Clarence x

  • quiero casarme con Eddie en la proxima vida

  • Now that's what I call music......Only hope The Boss and Eddie Vedder get to tour again

  • You are right, there is no description available because word cannot express how amazing this is.

  • dude,bruce is a total badass !

  • Eddie is the better man...

  • @obladion Eddie the Vedderman

  • @obladion epic

  • @obladion Thank you.

  • Simply cannot get enough of this song -- unbelievable version !

  • it just makes fun watching all of these guys together on stage,

I think they all felt "it"

  • Amazing! Eddie and Bruce should sing together more often :)

  • lol isnt that the drummer from Conan o Brien :DD

  • @hjalmarBuoi ....Thats....That's Max Weinberg....Thats Bruce's drummer first, then Conan's second

  • @ZRN959 oh :D

  • eddie: you know ... he's the boss... I'm only an employee... :)

  • Who could dislike this?

  • wow. this is awesome.

  • wow...wow.

  • Well Springsteen got through it without pooping his pants (at least I think so...). Got to give him an "A" for effort.

  • Epic!!!

  • Wow, awesome!

  • how did the world survive the epicness of these 2 together on stage!

  • Bruce you are Waaaaay out of your league here. Eddie's bum notes sound like Pavarotti. Kudos for trying. Next time watch the version with Roger Daultrey - he couldn't hang either!!

  • Desculpe Bruce, mas o Eddie é mt melhor, canta sem nenhum esforço!

  • I know it has been said a lot on this song, but damn did that give me chills. Clarence added a lot to this. The world lost one of the greats when he passed away.

  • My ears are in heaven!

  • Eddie is incredibly humble...

  • Bruce Springsteen.

You can't find a better man.

  • Eddie & Bruce i'll say anything.

  • =D from 4:30 >>>>>>>> musical orgasm

  • O.O .............I know what has happened, the universe has conspired to make me find this song =) ...there's no other explanation :)

  • they seem like brothers..

  • This song gives me goosebumps. It is a classic.

  • I went to the Springsteen exhibit at the RnR HoF and the display case containing The Boss's very guitar was unhinged and open.. I touched it and plucked the high string before notifying a staff member

  • this has always been one of my favorite PJ songs. playing this with The Boss must have been such an honor!! and "Big Man" Clarence Clemons.... RIP... you will be missed...

  • This is fucking brilliant.. Just love this song, it´s a real fucking masterpeice.

  • "No description available"

    You can't describe the awesomeness.

  • original cant be bettered. oh no wait, it just has

  • lol, fantastic all around!

  • sometimes... boss can be "slow".

    amazing performance btw. love it.

  • Is The Boss a goober or what? I have much respect for the boss because I love and respect music, but man he can be cheesy. haha

  • @ramblintrav3 I agree sometimes the boss just wants to be the center of attention, and make it sound like his own

  • @ramblintrav3 No, on the contrary....he IS the BOSS!

  • Amazing

  • "That dude on the sax....." Clarence Clemons. LEGEND.

  • holy shit.

  • the way eddie stepped back to the background for the call and response section was amazing. knowing that bruce didn't realize thats what he was supposed he took a step back and let bruce take the lead. amazing. both artists are in my top 5

  • You just cant find a Vedder man!

  • Two awesome artists singing an awesome song

  • man, bruce damn near singlehandedly destroys this song

  • @howlingmine kill yourself

  • @teEksis It would almost be worth it to be guaranteed that I never have to hear these 2 voices again.

  • is like dad and son... who is the dad?

  • Not the biggest Boss fan, but I must admit he rocked it at the end of this. Awesome

  • me fascina esta canción me lleva al cielo

  • THE BOSS!!!

  • Fucking EPIC!!!!!

  • @TheAnastasiaBeeverho AGREED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • these 2 guys are so different lol u can tell this is NOT a bruce way of singing song, I think he coulda added more of his own twist on it. felt more that he tryed to do eddies way

  • it's impossible to understand how can 5 persons say that they don't like this song

  • @1981zippo I was tempted because of the useless effects that were added, but the song itself was just too good.

  • Wow does Clarence add such a flavor to this song like no other, U are truly missed Big Man

  • That nigga dead, damn loved his sexaphone.

  • WHAT THE--?! When did this happen? EPIC.

  • i can see a young Bruce springdteen on Eddie Vedder

  • Clarence playing that solo.........WOW! r.i.p. big guy.

  • don't go! don't leave us big man! we miss you clarence!

  • it was already amazing, but when Clarence came in, it flew to new heights. Long live the Big Man.

  • sorry, but I really do not like Bruce Springsteen. Vedder blows him away, but thats just my opinion i guess

  • @gheffty93 Which of his 350 songs don't you like? How many shows have you attended?

Small minds seek security by seeing competition where there is none, and concluding, "what I know and like 'blows away' that about which I am ignorant.

  • @CPSJSMSUUMUGA no I haven't been to any of his shows, but I guess I just do not like his voice and his style of music. I understand hes popular though, just my opinion

  • I,m a very big Springsteen fan , but have to say that Eddie the singer blows Bruce the singer away

  • 4 dislikes? Those are the kids that grow up with Justin Bieber and Avril Lavigne as their heroes.

  • EPIC!!

  • I could never watch another video on youtube again and be happy. a perfect video

  • teen por que no vienes a meico,,te da miedo salir de tus etrellas???eres un nacionalista..pero aca en mexico te inoramos compadre,,ahi nada mas te mandamos fueras..jajajajja

  • I was at this show on 10-13-04. This was the true VFC Finale held at NJs Meadowlands . How surreal it felt to have Eddie come out onstage and belt out No Surrender, Darkness, & then a full E Street band Better Man . From the opening notes and the Professors Piano all the way thru till Clarences rich saxophone sounds. What a beautiful sound, and I'm so very glad this has all been captured on video so that I may relive that memory forever.

  • I was happy to see Bruce and the Big Man on my Bday in 03, I would have actually killed someone to be at this show, I've seen PJ over 25 times, and Eddie always pays respect to those who deserve it. I was so happy that this happened, cause it put 2 of my top 3 artists of all time together. The other one is Kris Kross

  • Freaking AWESOME!

  • Just too cool!

  • Cool version......like the sax

  • My head is about to EXPLODE.

    OVERLOAD OF AMAZING.

    cAN'T HANDLE IT.

  • At 4:16 Bruce gestures to the sound guy to TURN IT UP.

  • this is so good

  • Bruce Springsteen don't sounds like singing compared to Eddie Vedder.

  • Looks like Eddie shoes Bruce away at 3:13 lol.

  • This is fucking GREAT!!!

The Boss taking that guitar towards the end and just nailing that lead... going off!!!

  • two of the best ever in a great great song

  • Epic

  • My childhood love was Springsteen and Ive been borderline obsessed with Eddie for like, 15 years. Cool to see them together but this was not a good song for Bruce. Shoulda' chose a better song....oh can't find a better song.

  • Yikes... i m a big fan of both the boss and eddie, i had no idea this ever happened! if only i was there...!

  • wow, the sax!

  • Why does Bruce ruin every song he plays nowadays?

  • orgasm....

thanks for posting this...I love it

  • The jam at the end it the best I've ever seen. These guys go together perfectly.

It's the last Sprngsteen, Vote For Change, show. He couldn't be more gracious in the way he steps back and let's Eddie shine, and not just on Better man, a Vedder song, but on his own. No Surrender is incredible.
