hi there, anyone know whats my chances of getting a job as shuttle car driver underground in austrailian mine ,i am a fully trained operator in uk .would appreciate any feedback . greg
I had to change my account. Probably because I kept trashing DonBlankenship. I'm the one asking about the noise and the lights, I couldn't pull up the video you suggested. would it have a name instead?
@Astrodan2600 Those are the lights from our battery lights on our head... Yea those are the only lights you get.. But all the equipment has lights also. Here's a good clip to watch that was taped at a local mine close by afew years ago. /watch?v=Bk-jrbCi7Sc
@Astrodan2600 Yea, Everything stays pretty loud underground.. Some wear ear plugs or are suppose to.. I never would though.. Mostly cause they make me feel like things are either closer then what they appear or further then they appear.. Weird i know, lol.... Some people end up with alot of hearing loss years down the road, But some don't.. Guess it just depends on the person and how much noise they were around.
@pintofhappinesslabel if you're interested in becoming a coal miner, then you can go to the Office of Mine Safty and Licensing and take courses in underground mining. That's how I got my underground mining card.

Where are those lights coming from? Is that the only light you get?

That's loud! Are coal miners hard of hearing after work?
