I love Mark Steyn, and agree with much of what he says, but he obviously doesn't understand global warming at all. I WISH his 57/56 degree comment was the way global warming works. Anyone who talks like that about global warming obviously hasn't studied what it actually is. Also- the main reason why we must deal with g-warming is BECAUSE of the global economy! The industries that will be affected by it are immense. If it weren't for economy there'd be no reason to care about g-warming.

Heh. Regards open borders. Steyn is right to mock the impotency of U.S Govt.on enforcing its territorial sovereignty and right to choose who enters. It's crazy. Change will only happen when a serious terrorist incident takes place when it shown that entry was facilitated through an open border. It's not racist (as far too many would say) to secure the border. It is in the U.S national interest. Steyn is right. That open border sends a message. It says that the U.S is weak.

I disagree with him on Global Warming in scient. terms, but in the end he is completely right as far as politics go. Global Warming is a force to be reckoned with and a very influential one, as even 1Degree diff. with the medium Air means zig-times the energy of the Hirosh.Bomb in an chaotic non-linear, inhomogeneous system. But the thing is we can do most about it if we actually sustain economic power and have smart politics.
