  • Thank you very much, you solved my problem creating a complicated positioned website!

  • Why don't you use em instead of px, so that handicapped users can do full-page zooming without having an issue?

  • W.O.W... that's all I can say, man! Thanx!

  • this is was i was looking for,Thank u man.

  • Old video at this time, but no less helpfull! Thanx a lot!

  • Awesome vid man. First net resource I've found with a basic, concise explanation of positioning.

  • this is so helpful, thank you! just one question, how would i get a gap between the two columns so they're not touching?

  • Many thanks Ralph. I've been on the verge of getting down to learning HTML and CSS for years. Your clear and straight forward tutorials really did the trick for me.

Please can you tell me if there's a tutorial which shows how to get the text in the 'leftcolumn' to wrap around the top and left of the 'purplebox', instead of padding out the text from the entire right side of the 'left column'?

  • Clear and easy. Thanks for your time to explain this.

  • sir, is your name nicholas cage?

  • thanks a lot for the videos, it would be great if you set up playlists of your videos segregating videos by what area of web development they are targetting, eg- UI, DB, server-side JS etc

  • Thanks it took me a few trys I got my links to where I wanted them with this technique I still find css hard to get the positioning exact.

  • Thanks... Totally off topic... how do you edit the windows GUI so it will have the black bar like you have?

  • rrphillips u r god!! u've just solved my prob thanks alot m8.

  • I've spent a few hours trying to figure out what's going wrong with my usage of relative & absolute in CSS positioning. You've just solved my problem.

    Thanks a lot! 5 stars.

  • thanks so much for this rrphillips! This really helped me sort out the issues i had with my page. i was trying to position things inside a table but the table itself wasn't positioned relatively! So now everything is absolutely positioned inside my relatively positioned table! VOILA! it works! thankyou!!!!

  • I quite like you tutorials on CSS -nice and strait forward :)

The only thing what kind of confused me is the fact that u put a "relative" to the leftcolumn and keep the "absolute" in the purplebox.

I would rather think (the point of my logic ?:)) to put an "relative" to the purplebox??

..nifty CSS logic (..which i have to get used to :))??

  • ur very clear. Thanks a lot.
