  • That isn't the problem. I think you shouldn't be so quick to judge. The issue is the fact that when Dexter was elected he promised to lower and to regulate tuition fees, the other issue is that we already pay the highest fees in the COUNTRY and it is time that the increases stopped! A survey done concluded that 33% of youth are being denied post secondary education because they cannot afford it and today was about telling them that this wasn't right. It was time to take a stand.

  • Students discontent with an annual $150 increase? How materialistic western society is. People around the world are being killed fighting for freedom, yet you radicals, taking freedom for granted, are bothering others for a measly 150$. The time you spent protesting you could have made half of that tuition raise. Some advice: Go Study some math(because clearly you can't calculate the tuition raise), don't vote for the NDP(they've never done anything positive), or get a job and make some money.

    It was a good way to spend the day when the University is closed. If the legislature wont hold the premier to account, we will at least attempt to. I don't know your background so I won't say much about what you SHOULD do. I don't know. Next time you should be a little more considerate when posting such bogus remarks.

    It's not just the tuition increase; there is a funding cut of 4%. The universities rely on that funding, 4% is actually a lot of money, so on top of tuition going up we are going to see the quality decline.

  • @TheCrayonMaster

    your mistaken - it's going up because there is a 4% funding cut

  • @KrewProducti0ns

    that doesn't make sense. How is the quality of education going to go up with a funding cut?

  • @TheCrayonMaster

    Wow buddy read the entire conversation

    it's = tuition

  • @KrewProducti0ns

    I was at the protest. These are the issues. Yes it's tuition but it was also the budget cut. And yes we are discontent with a $150 increase for the first year. By the end of the third year tuition will have gone up by more then $500 and with the amount that NS students already pay, $500 dollars is a huge amount. Personally I have a loan, AND I have to work a part time job to be able to pay rent , tuition, food, art supplies and other things.

  • @KrewProducti0ns

    We found out last week that the government has let the tuition increase go ahead. So after the three years are up tuition will have gone up almost $1000.

    Oh and some of us DO work while going to school. I work at least 16 hours a week to pay my rent. And I have a student loan. I also don't go out and party. Some of us don't have an extra $1000 to spend.
