  • could i just use a mic on this?

  • I perform live frequently with headline artists, rising stars, infamous djs, and all in front of various crowds. I bought this and it put music on a whole new level. I even let people rent it for their studio sessions. 1 week and this paid for itself. I've had numerous inquiries about this product, everyone from the guy next door to someone that tours the world. All i have to say is thanks.

  • I LOVE MY TC HELICON!!!! ONLY ONE WORD!!!

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEESOOOOOOOOME!

  • does this unit cause much feed back during live use? thanks!

  • cn this give off a realy autotuned effect ? like will.i.am or t.pain ? i need live autotune and cant decide weather to get the tctelicon c1 single, or this ? help please,

  • Im no singer, and i cant play guitar!..... but using it in the studio(like this) is what i want it for. Im a gear freak with an oldschool setup(no pc,just outboard and multitracker recorder) Could i patch out a pre recorded vocal to this thing, or do i have to 'sing' live through it? Can the input for the vocal side be mic and line level?

    Cheers.

  • @Electromachines Hiya, Yes - you can definitely send a pre-recorded vocal out of the VoiceTone Synth as you would do with any other outboard effects processor. The input on the unit is mic level only.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon Thanks for the swift reply! This is now at the top of my list for the next bit of gear.

If only all companies took the time to listen and reply to customers comments.

    Cheers!

  • @Electromachines You're very welcome, glad I was able to help :). Thanks so much for the lovely comment - we really value our customers.

    Best wishes,

  • Does any one just want to donate one of these to me? Im sure if you check out my music on my channel you will understand that i could really do with one of these :P

  • LMAO at the CHIMPMUNK CHICK! haha, Killer petal!

  • do you have to plug in a guitar if you want to just sing? i want to sing without and guiters or anything.

  • @danny9guzz Hiya, You could set a key/scale - this would give you the freedom to use the VoiceTone Synth without anything else attached (you will need your mic/speakers etc of course).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon thanks soo muchh!

  • can you just use the pedal by istelf? do you have to have a computer attached to it?

  • @danny9guzz Hiya, No, you don't need a computer attached to use the VoiceTone Synth (in the video above, a computer was used to record with).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • does the voicetone synth have a real harmony sound on it...or is that only on the harmony m pedal. I want the real sounding harmonies but i also want the hard tune pedal. Do both come on the one?

  • @xxxiamfreexxx Hiya, The VoiceTone Synth doesn't have any harmony functions. If you're after natural sounding harmonies and the hard-tune effect working in conjunction with guitar, you have a few options....

    1) You could pair up the VoiceTone Synth with the Harmony-G XT

    2) VoiceLive 2 and VoiceLive Touch have hard-tune and harmonies in the same unit.

VoiceTone Synth however is the only product we make which contains an actual vocoder.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • Hello, do I need an amplifier for my classic/electric guitar to use the Voice Tone Harmony -G XT?

    Thank you so much.

  • @1mom2james Hiya, You don't have to have an amplifier specifically for your guitar. With the VoiceTone Harmony-G XT, you could simply plug your guitar in and use the guitar effects built into the unit. Then, your guitar and vocals can easily come out of the same PA.

  • I Had A Question, Is there a Bypass Signal for this Voicetone, If there is how is it enabled, is it possible if you turn off the vocoder and a few other things it will give a complete 100% bypass signal?

  • @SoraFatality HIya, Yes - you can bypass the pedal simply by switching it off. The dry signal will then go through the unit unaffected.

  • can you make a video with out any inputs?

  • where can i buy this voice tone synth?

  • @danny9guzz What country/city are you from? You're local dealer should be able to help you... or, you can find a list of TC-Helicon dealers via TC-Helicon's website.

  • @tchelicon thanks soo much!!

  • this was easily the best video showcase of this pedal. this sealed the deal. i am DEFINITELY saving up for one now.

  • Would this pedal work well for a hardcore/electronica band? if so what settings would you recomend?

  • @CoryNevils depends hat your looking for.. alot of bands are using just a simple hardtune with a bit of distortion.. check out attack attack "stick stickly". perfect example from the guitarist

  • it's monophonic or we can used chord like a real vocoder from EMS.

  • Great vid! i was just wondering whether the auto/hard-tune needs a carrier? could you just use your voice as the carrier?? thanks :D

  • @novadavies Hiya, Yes you can. Simply set a key and scale.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC-Helicon

  • @tchelicon

thanks alot, it sound worth getting!

  • this awesome shit is more usefull than a tone corrector (antares autotune like), this one can be used as a kind of talkbox or vocoder effect.

  • I haven't bought this unit yet...I was wondering if in a live performance if I do Cher's Believe would I have to set the key everytime or can I save a song as a preset?? Any help would be great...

  • Hiya Johnna,

You can save the key and scale with any preset.

    Hope this helps.

  • hi i am between boss ve 20 and voicetone synth.I prefer the synth but i am not really sure about the distortions you can get.

I need it for extreme vocals (black metal).

  • @efo355 i advise a tube pre-amp and a processor with light reverb. the tube pre-amp will go a long way

  • great stuff...always good to see a demo with such enthusiasm, and agree with what clasher said ...5 stars!

  • Great demonstration.. I like when you're telling your female singer to go high with the singing and she doesn't get it for a while. thanks!

  • hi there

I am getting some really dissapointing latency with my voicetone pedal! Is there any chance this can be solved with a software update? When I play live with my electro band the latency becomes very noticeable.

Also when i go to download the BUILD26 1.0.06 update the progress bar seems to stay on 0. I have left it for a few hours and still nothing. Could you shed any light on this?

    Thanks!

    Owen

  • Hiya Owen,

The best thing to do is to get in touch with our support team via the TC Helicon website (sorry, YouTube doesn't allow me to post the link). They'll be able to troubleshoot with you and get to the bottom of it!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • I love how Robbie always gives really genuine shout outs to his musicians and their band's etc. What a guy :)

  • AMAZING DEMO!

  • Hello TC Helicon,

My question is if you know how many bands the vocoder has. I am currently using a rack mount unit that has 24. I would be interested in this if the intelligibility is not sacrificed.

  • Hiya,

Most Vocoders that list how many bands they used do their processing in whats called the time-domain. VoiceTone Synth does its processing in whats called the frequency-domain. What do you get in real terms is much more intelligibility and what youd perceive is hundreds of more bands when comparing it to classic vocoders. However, by turning the Rez knob to the lowest position you can emulate even lower than 24 band classic vocoders.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • how do you send an instrument part from your computer to the voicetone synth?

and how can i record vocals onto a computer using it?

  • that really depends

  • Hiya,

You can feed the instrument input from a seperate output from your soundcard if you have one capable of doing this. To record into the computer you will need to attach the outputs of the voicetone synth to the inputs on your soundcard.

  • hi people of tc helicon i got a little question...

can i have autotune ( hardtune) with the voice live 1 floor pedal?, cuz im really new on this and i dont know too much in this field of voice tunning.

  • Hiya,

Unfortunately VoiceLive 1 doesn't contain any Hard-tune effects. You'll need either VoiceLive 2 (has a few of these type of effects in it) or VoiceTone Synth (which is especially designed for this type of effect and also contains the vocoder not found in VoiceLive 2).

Give me a shout if you need any more info :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • With this pedal doing autotune (hardtune) do i need to plug in an instrument to give it the key center, or is it adjustable?

  • Hiya,

VoiceTone Synth will read the input from an instrument or you can manually select the key and scale type from the pedal also.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon

  • Now do you already have the presets?

I'm thinking of purchasing this in the near future, and would like to know the autotune(hardtune) effect presets

  • Hiya,

It's easy to make presets with this pedal and they are created by selecting the options that are viewable on the front of the pedal. The best thing to do to get more info and understanding on this pedal and how it works is to check out the manual that can be downloaded from Helicon's website.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC Helicon
