Well, even though this car doesn't get as good gas milage as expected from a hybrid, it still releases a significantly less amount of carbon emissions into the air. It's not always about the MPG's. It's about what comes out the back.
For example...My mothers old Ford Escort (25-30 MPG) has about 20% higher emissions than my Volvo S60 (18-20 MPG). This is because my Volvo has a significantly more advanced emission system / catalytic converter.

I had disdain for the IS300 the moment I saw it. It looked like a Honda Civic with Ugly Tail Lights. Lop-sides in the front. Doesn't look like a Luxury car.

If you actually have been driving both BMW 3 series and a Civic, you would not really see much of difference(both 2001~2003 models) when you look at the features. Does a power leather seat cost 10,000 dollars to make up the price of 3 series or something? Or, does a 6 CD changer make up the cost of 20,000 dollars for a 3 series?

Recalling means Lexus is taking things seriously. Mercedes and BMW, those junk brands that live off with their reputation don't even give a damn about the customers, so they do not recall even if there are problems. They do when it seems really serious.
Some of the reasons why Lexus has recalled, are minor issues and to be safe. They are now being very careful all due to the U.S. Gov't propaganda saying Toyota/Lexus gas pedals can get stuck when it happens to other cars too

Gas pedal problem, did you know this sort of thing happens to other cars, but the media just made it look like only it happens to Toyota/Lexus cars? You'd see something fishy there because Toyota thing became an issue when the Japanese were going crazy to get the US troops out of Okinawa. Gas pedal problems happened to Audi in the past, too.

We turned it quickly on a dime at least a good 30-40 times & not once did the steering ever come off whack or show even the slightest problem or strain. The front of the 2010 LS600 is REALLY nice, they should have that as an optional appearance package for the LS460. If I bought a USED LS460 I'd have the bodyshop make the front look like this!

I think this is a really classy car even though I dont really like Lexus at all. I've always been a big Mercedes fan but I love the way this car looks. Im not too keen on the new grille though, it makes it look kind of cheap.

Well, even though this car doesn't get as good gas milage as expected from a hybrid, it still releases a significantly less amount of carbon emissions into the air. It's not always about the MPG's. It's about what comes out the back.
For example...My mothers old Ford Escort (25-30 MPG) has about 20% higher emissions than my Volvo S60 (18-20 MPG). This is because my Volvo has a significantly more advanced emission system / catalytic converter.

@whazmanameletsgo It's as fast as an S550 but gets better mileage than a 3.0L V6 Cadillac CTS. It's also a lot faster than an S400 Hybrid, delivers a lot more power and matches it for fuel economy.

Mercedes has a premium name for an average car (130 Problems / 100 Car). Toyota has a average name for a Premium car (96 Problems /100 car).
So which one you buy depends on what you use it for: if you want for show, of course, BMW is the premium choice (like 70 years old brand name?), If you want it for drive go for Lexus, it will never fail you on the road.
Now, you tell me which one is the Luxury car.

Who said anything about power leather seats? If you actually have been driving both BMW 3 series and a Civic, you would not really see much of difference(both 2001~2003 models) when you look at the features. Does a power leather seat cost 10,000 dollars to make up the price of 3 series or something? Or, does a 6 CD changer make up the cost of 20,000 dollars for a 3 series?
Pay more for 3 series and yet, more unreliable. Great.

For example, the Germans try to put a lot of those new features into a car, even if it means to overdo it. And they usually overdo it. Due to this, their cars have lots of electrical problems.
And yet, the Japanese like Lexus, they do not put stuff unless they know it will be reliable. A Honda Civic and a BMW 3 series pretty much have all the same features and yet, BMW is somehow a lot more unreliable. Why do you think it is?

Like i told my friend 3yrs ago when toyota became #1 i said straight up TOYOTA grew way way to fast and i bet u theres gonna be some reacalls sure enough here they r now but these arent minor problems these r major problems u think if u were gonna have electonics controlling the gas u would have a backup system for just in case. GM had a recall about the wire harness but the company that made it folded b4 the 2nd recall.

Recalling means Lexus is taking things seriously. Mercedes and BMW, those junk brands that live off with their reputation don't even give a damn about the customers, so they do not recall even if there are problems. They do when it seems really serious.
Some of the reasons why Lexus has recalled, are minor issues and to be safe. They are now being very careful all due to the U.S. Gov't propaganda saying Toyota/Lexus gas pedals can get stuck when it happens to other cars too

It's interesting as to why they don't use Hummer, but not really a huge surprise. Land Cruiser is a very solid truck.
Gas pedal problem, did you know this sort of thing happens to other cars, but the media just made it look like only it happens to Toyota/Lexus cars? You'd see something fishy there because Toyota thing became an issue when the Japanese were going crazy to get the US troops out of Okinawa. Gas pedal problems happened to Audi in the past, too.

I am not honestly surprised by the fact that you like Mercedes better than Lexus, but man, you have to admit that the first model Lexus LS indeed changed the game.
Like, you know, the luxury mid size sedan. Did you know BMW 5 series and Mercedes E class take up 75% of the shares there? And then if you include Jaguar, and Audi A6, it would be even bigger, and Lexus GS and Infiniti M would barely fit in :\...it's no wonder why people prefer European :(

Also isnt the Audi A8 a luxry car also???? if i rember yes

My friend had a 97 mazda RX7 with a rotary engine and he had to get a starter for his car n they didnt have any in the auto parts store so he had to order 1 n it was $800 my other friend had a 96 maxima n replaced the CV Halfshafts n that was $1800 for both i priced that n a starter all for 150-220 now if i lived in japan then maybe i would buy a car from there n if i did it would be an INFINATI ithinktheirbetter

If u compare that to toyotas massive recalls and their problems its not even close to being a problem for hyundai. @globalk100 I just got in from driving with a good friend of mine, we took his brand new 2010 LS460 out to an empty parking lot to see what we could find. We turned it quickly on a dime at least a good 30-40 times & not once did the steering ever come off whack or show even the slightest problem or strain. This latest recall is a figment of people's imaginaton, they just want to cash in & exploit the latest issues by Toyota, that's all. Recalls can be a big money maker for certain people & Co.s.

The benz is one of the worst in reliability so is bmw there build and performance are top notch but once again its all in opinion what a person thinks is a nice car.

@globalk100: I will agree with you on that one. My last Mercedes was always being worked on, as well as the one before that. But I've never had a single problem with any Lexus I've owned.

@globalk100 One thing you have to remember, it is Governments & Government agencies (which is built up of many people who have never & will never own a Toyota or Lexus) who are saying Toyota/Lexus are poorly built & they caused the recalls. Toyota/Lexus Owners (who are the ones who actually own & drive Toyota/Lexuses everyday) stand by the cars & swear by them. The bottom line is Toyota/Lexus caused the USA & their citizens to lose money which everyone knows is a big no-no in this world!

@JaguarLexusCentral Lmao its not a conspiracy and there are people that complained about the acclerator problem way before the recall incident even in japan there are complaints about toyota and lexus as well as worldwide. Other car companys have recalls too but toyota knew about it and did nothing . Ford got exposed along time ago and they deserved it too because there were severe injuries and some died. toyota sells are based on reliability those days are long gone

@jamespaul45 i never said other car companys haven't had recalls but not nearly in the amount of toyota and lexus . Lexus LS recall is based on performacne like the alignment steering and toyota is on accleration, brakes << a real big safety issue. Toyota use to sell cars and still try based on quality and reliability but they are falling dramatically and u cant deny that because numbers dont lie and their RECALLS are proof they have poor build and reliability

@globalk100 Oh & just so you know, you talk a lot about Toyota being #1 in recalls when even with all the recalls they've had over the last year they still have recorded nowhere near the amount of recalls that any one of the 3 American car Co.'s have recorded over the years! It's not even close either, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, & Honda together have recorded less recalls than Chrysler who have the fewest amount of recalls of the big 3 Amercan car Co.'s!!!!

Ford recalled 6 million tires for thread seperation that sometime caused cars to rollover. Ford recalled 13 million more tires at a cost of 3 billion.The case dosent make forbes top 10 because it involves tires not vehicles . imo its still bad but now lets talk about toyotas

You should think about what's happening with your "incredibly" company which is exploiting people instead making good cars.

The front of the 2010 LS600 is REALLY nice, they should have that as an optional appearance package for the LS460. If I bought a USED LS460 I'd have the bodyshop make the front look like this!

k well i test drove one (OFC i wasn't buying it.. NO MONEY lol, only test drove it for fun) and the cabin was fucking quiet.. i didn't even know the engine was on.. and yes its that quiet... its such an amazing car. i would love to have it =D

I think this is a really classy car even though I dont really like Lexus at all. I've always been a big Mercedes fan but I love the way this car looks. Im not too keen on the new grille though, it makes it look kind of cheap.
