@Sideler74 I've seen it a lot. A guy set the test and tune record at my track running high 7's at 191. Its actually easy to get a liter bike in the 9s if you can launch, even easier if its extended. I think I could get a high 9 out of it if i strapped it and raced it for a day

I'm pretty sure the car vs. bike battle was put to rest in the November 2009 issue of Super Streetbike. The stock ZX-14 owned everything, but they said the Viper would have caught the ZX shortly after 120 mph. If you haven't read that article, its a STOCK ZX-14 vs. a bunch of cars while doing a 60-120 roll. The fastest car being a Viper with 950hp and the bike still wins. Car lovers can talk all the shit they want, but in the end a STOCK Busa/14 will smoke 99% of cars on the road.

@greenmarine5 yea its rated at 185 but it averages out 160 more or less like my 03 yzf-r1 was rated at 150 dyno tested 140.....not all builds on bikes are the same thats y they all sound different after awhile
@streetdemon20 You are spot on. manufacturers record bhp at the crank. True bhp is measured at the rear wheel. My 10 has a pc111 and still only makes 160 on the dyno. (I mean only in the loosest sense. It's more than enough for me)

@fergus1494 No, the actual bhp that is getting layed down on the road is the rwbhp. A lot of power is lost through the transmission and drive shaft or chain. All vehicles have drifferent drivetrains so the only way of equally comparing like for like is at the wheels hence why we have Dynos. Check any car or bike mag and they will give you manufacturers claimed bhp and the actual bhp they tested at the wheels.
@vtwin77 ok, Cheers :) I always thought bhp was measured using an engine dyno from the flywheel and rwhp was measured at the wheels. But on that point i never really did think about it enough to get into smaller details like names. Calculating Hp at the crank will never be accurate like you said because different gearbox/drivetrains have different levels of friction or efficiency

even if there is a difference in the weight.....the hp is very different to a 1000 has a average of 160hp......the car has what 500+hp? and as for the biker needa learn to keep that bike down bro

@greenmarine5 yea its rated at 185 but it averages out 160 more or less like my 03 yzf-r1 was rated at 150 dyno tested 140.....not all builds on bikes are the same thats y they all sound different after awhile

@streetdemon20 You are spot on. manufacturers record bhp at the crank. True bhp is measured at the rear wheel. My 10 has a pc111 and still only makes 160 on the dyno. (I mean only in the loosest sense. It's more than enough for me)

@vtwin77 hell yea i like my 03 r1 it beats the new gsxr, and r1's they may have gotten a hp increase but the new cats system on them takes away the bhp plus the driver is a big reason for wins or losses ((driving skills)) but still i give props to this mustang for keeping up wish my gt could keep up lol

@fergus1494 No, the actual bhp that is getting layed down on the road is the rwbhp. A lot of power is lost through the transmission and drive shaft or chain. All vehicles have drifferent drivetrains so the only way of equally comparing like for like is at the wheels hence why we have Dynos. Check any car or bike mag and they will give you manufacturers claimed bhp and the actual bhp they tested at the wheels.

@vtwin77 ok, Cheers :) I always thought bhp was measured using an engine dyno from the flywheel and rwhp was measured at the wheels. But on that point i never really did think about it enough to get into smaller details like names. Calculating Hp at the crank will never be accurate like you said because different gearbox/drivetrains have different levels of friction or efficiency

i know... apples and oranges i suppose. And it's probably more like a 2000 lb difference at least. sorry, i must've been in an ornery mood last week. :) Any car that can hang with zx10 has my respect. i own a zx6r and love it. I used to be into cars until I discovered how much more fun bikes are...

@frorule you do know there is a good 1000 pound difference between the two and not to mention on a bike your about 1/6 the size of a car so its not a matter of who's more expensive in this case
