hey there! I see u are a pc bf3 player, and I have a problem, I play on high and the ground renders in these cubes? Like bright cubes and the rest is dark :( can you help me or maybe somebody in the comments? If u want Ill post a video. thanks for reading :)
The turth is I'm a "Xmas noob" but I am not a Xmas noob I do not play like a noob I have played Past BFs so not all Xmas noobs are that. Well not me......
BUT the campy ones I hate but the main point I bought the game at Xmas but I play as a BF3 fan
my experience with x mas noobs forget to use team work running lone wolf and no squad communication to win in bf3 teamwork is key and to keep in mind that bullets have bullet drop meaning the farther it goes it arcs downwards so at long rage shot a bit up
Colin!! you can get the vehicle destruction challenge with the repair tool on any enemy amtrack. no enemy has to be inside for you to get it destroyed and still get points for it.
I Raged so hard today! i was playing my ASS OFF on a rush gamemode trying to arm the M-coms and i had 3 snipers as my squadmates, i couldn't even change squads coz the rest were full. those selfish Fucking Cunts didn't even bother spotting or laying down spawn beacons for us to deploy on. Motherfuckers!
If you are haveing trouble aiming or haveing problems with the controls, play campaign. Stick with your squad and communicate. Stay in cover and when moving from cover to cover check for enemies before u run and sprint to your next cover. Spotting and using the minimal will also help you avoid being suprized by enemies. .
oplim77 .. i was wondering i got my xbox but i have not been abel to connect to the online gameplay was wondering if u could maybe advise me in possibel ways to make it work ???
and or if it had to do with my counsel memory cap which is 4gigs
1. When playing conquest on jet maps, use stingers in the engineer kit to shoot jets.
Pro tip- when locking on to jet, don't fire the stinger until 3 seconds after the jet dumps out flares. What this does is when a pilot hears the tracking sound, he usually releases flairs. Scare him/her into using flairs so that when your really ready to shoot your stinger, he/she can't dump flairs, because it takes 10 seconds to regain flair capabilities. Good Luck.
1. play your class - each class has a role that they must play
- Assault: your medic/slayer he is good at killing but if team mates need health or a revive give it to them, but their is a catch if a team mate runs into fire and gets gunned down with enemies everywhere leave him OR clear the area and THEN revive
- Support: the squad slayer he keeps the enemies down and hiding he also drops ammo so that people can do their jobs but don't be a selfish bitch
Hey nice channel! Being a bit of a newb myself, I would like to see pro tips for defending charges (attacking) and disarming charges (defending).
It's would also great to remind newbs about the benefits of 'spotting' as there is no way they will not know what this is (admittedly, I only discovered this a few days ago on a random video).
Teach them the ART of Support or BETTER STILL Healing. Its not enough happening in game and Noobs run around treating BF3 like call of duty (gayest shit EVER)
i once joined a server and spawned nxt to an almost dead enemy tank and thought it was ours so i used my repair tool and destroyed it killing 2 enemies. sad thing is that i dont have the expansion -.-
My tip for players who want help and want to improve: USE YOUR HEADSET. I know why people don't use the headset. They may have have bad experiences from immature players in the past. But if you want better results, communicate with your squad. It makes a huge difference.
No spamming, here are my suggestions for all BF3 noobs:
1. Know the game type - Conquest is taking an area and keeping it/Rush means that you treat those crates like gold. Neither mode has an emphasis on K/D. Who cares if you go 4:1? If you lose the match, you LOSE.
2. Know your role/squad - If your entire squad is Recon then you are doing it wrong! Go heavy on assault on infantry maps, heavy on Engi on vehicle maps with Support and Recon used sparingly!
@idontgiveafork 3. Know your kits! - If you are Assault, you have a handy-dandy med kit. If support, you have the ammo box. Drop the hell out of them - but not in the middle of the street!
4. Practice vehicles before needing to use them in heavy combat. There are PLENTY of 1 player join low count servers to get skills on. Don't penalize the entire team because you want to fly the attack helo.
5. This isn't COD, we don't reward you for killstreaks. Respect your squad mates first, then your team!
@idontgiveafork 6.Don't get bent out of shape if a higher class kills you with a "leet" weapon. Most of the beginning level unlocks are very good guns. I still prefer the M249 to any of the other LMGs. The 870MCS is positively epic in close quarters.
7. Pay attention to the audio cues the game gives you. Turn off your music. Use silencers once you unlock them to stay off the minimaps.
8. Watch good commentors like the DCRU guys and a few others for map tips/routes. Learn the maps!
@idontgiveafork 9. Learn gun-skills on TDM and SQDM, not Conquest or Rush. (Advanced theory, try pistol servers for learning handguns and point of aim techniques)
10. Advanced theory - Engis, communicate early in a match about Javalin/SOFLAM/CITV/Laser designation. One or 2 recon and a handful of Engis CAN OWN a vehicle rich map!
Colin - preach on brother! I have found the last week or so of gameplay very frustrating due to fail teammates. I am not bragging, but I know I am carrying my weight (top of the map stats) and its very frustrating when those around you aren't following the game type!
other than PTFO, I've noticed a lot of people using the scroll wheel to change weapons and gadgets. I think it would be nice of us to tell them to learn to use the number keys instead. People want a defib and end up going through every weapon they have before finding it.
1:See who is the MAIN JET Pilot (maybe its your squad mate [JET ICON] ) or a guy in the points who has like only 5-6 kills but 4 or 5k points and no deaths. LET HIM HIS JET!!!!! iam bymyself on of the RUSH pilots who goes for its objective TJH TanksJetsHelis and enough people cann say a good Pilot on Caspian can save the teams ass
2: when you try flying, claim speed an alltitude and try to attack the enemy jets from behind in a small distane.
I played against a Hanauka nube the other night. His IGN was jewiam. He was at level 1 for 3 or 4 rounds. In each game he had only 1 kill and double digit deaths. My friends and I had some good laughs at his expense. When he finally hit level 2 we all sent him a Hooha msg on PSN. My tip to the BF3 Xmas noobs is go back to playing COD.
communications button, burst firing, spotting, proper usage of different gadgets and to help people realize you actually get more points for objectives than killing
Don't take a tank unless you are an engineer and also make sure you are an engineer if you are my gunner. Make sure you did with your vehicle so you dont hand vehicles to the enemy.
play your role . . . if you play assault, patch me up and revive me if I die, stay with me on the front line. If you're an engineer lay some mines or fix up my tank and for the love of god blow the Op's heavy armour up, that is your job. If you're a support, hand always hand out ammo, don't wait for me to knife you before you get the hint that I'm out of ammo. If you're a lil camping sniper bitch at least spot the Op for me, plant tactical insertions in tactical locations, not up a fukn tower.
Do not Rambo revive. Pick your moments. Make sure the area is clear and enemies have been killed before reviving your bro. Also use your kits, drop ammo and health kits.
I found that when starting out, it's good to play a bit of conquest and just run the outlying flags, and spot. B2K maps are great for this. DON'T WORRY ABOUT K/D.
@MrJoker9907 It depends on the range, but I'm assuming you're at long range since you can't see their character model along with the spot. I've found you generally want to aim just below the triangle. Anyone else have any thoughts?
@oplim77 yep it depends on range. i usually aim between the star and the triangle (don't forget to compensate the bullet drop at long ranges). probability to hit = 60-70%. that's my opinion. more suggestion, anyone?
@AKIOSHIMA619 oh? so it really depends on the range? I thought i got an sarcastic answer from Colin, him dragging me down in the mud for everyone to see. So if your not sarcastic i say thanks man. :)
@oplim77 If the player is squad leader (i.e. they have a star as well as a triangle, I find you have to aim just below the star and slightly to the left. p.s. I play on Xbox but I suspect it is the same on other platforms.
@oplim77 Colin: there doesn't have to be anyone in the vehicle to get the assignment. Just destroy the enemy vehicle and you'll be good. If it says vehicle destroyed then you got it.
Tip, if your an engineer and you get inside a helicopter that's on the ground disabled, fix it, don't sit in it waiting for it to blow up! It happens all the time to me
A load of my friends got it for xmas and I told them how revive and kills = the same amount of points so that made them team players. Then I always cam top of the board and they were all "how do you do that" i was all like "ptfo bra" and now we're all so competitive trying to get the most points all game. Playing rush is a breeze with those guys.
Cap some flags, defend Mcoms and flags, and take out the objective.
-When I shoot at your heli from the ground when you take off, that means I want to get in, don't leave without me !
-Repair stuff, give ammo, revive us.
When we are about to cap an objective or we are losing, revive your teammates to prevent the ticket coutn from reducing and helping us win. GIVE AMMO WHEN I SHOOT NEAR YOU.
Before or getting in any vehicle actually look up the controls for them. And when you get into the vehicle take things slow and get a feel for it, especially the air vehicles. Too many times I've seen someone get into the chopper go up, lean to one side, and immediately crash. Also, just because you can't be God at the game in a few days doesn't mean it is a bad game. Give it time and patience and I can guarantee you will grow to love it just as much as the rest of us more "seasoned" players.
1. Don't camp the vehicles 4 dudes camping the chopper (I've seen it) is a third of your team.
2. Don't waste the vehicles (example: take off in chopper, crash within a minute, repeat for the duration of the match). Vehicles in this game are too valuable, if you don't know how to use them find an empty server or co-op.
@cerealkiller103178 dude... Xmas noobs have nothing to do with colin, its a general term in gaming.. And really, how hard is it to figure by yourself -,-... 12 year olds.....
colin do you know you don't have to actually destroy the vehicle, i think you just have to deal 100% worth of damage, because i never and i got the challenge
Sorry to tell you this but the xmas noobs are very dumb and can't learn shit, i've been getting really mad in the last couple days thanks to ending up on servers full with ignorant earthlings that don't know what the fuck they are doing in the midle of the game, arrrrgrrrrr.......................
On conquest capping flags> killing people.. all though it doesn't hurt either if you can do both well :D. Learn to aim and always shoot first ask questions later.. last one is a philosophy i have adopted lately.. there is absolutely no reason to wonder if that bush or dark corner is a enemy just shoot it and you'll know.
whats an xmas noob? i havent seen one of Colins videos in a while soo i dont know if he said what they were or not, so can someone tell me what a xmas noob is?
@cerealkiller103178 due the price reduction during the holiday season, bf3 only costs i think 30 bucks, so many people bought the game but dont know how to play
RUSH (ATTACKER): spawn in the jet or chopper right at the start of the game, get to the objectives as fast as you can and arm at least one of them (both if you can). this will distract the defenders (usually) enough for your team to move up safely even if you have to sacrifice your self
CONQUEST: rush a flag near the middle of the map, this gives a forward spawn for anyone a little late to the game, and gives you a buffer zone for caping the closer flags
revive but be smart about it. that is to say, a) be aware of your surroundings b) remember the length of time between deaths since most people don't wait c) remember that you have the ability to save tickets. probably more reasons but those are the ones I can think of.
I find half the time the enemy isn't watching the objective and most of them won't make am effort to defend it, so it is very easy for 2 people to arm the m-com or take the flag. I guess what I'm trying to say is dont be afraid of going near the objective because only 3 or 4 at max people will make an effort to stop you
Hey Colin. I think if you wouldn't have jumped in that tank after damaging it with your repair tool, you would have gotten the destruction points after it blew up. It just takes a few seconds for it to die after being disabled. Just don't do any repairing after he jumps out and you're all set, I think.
Run towards the letters, especially the red ones. Stay back from the meat-grinder a little if you aren't confident, but try to help keep up the pressure. Ignore the grumpy assholes who yell at you for playing differently than them. Find a role you enjoy playing, but try to learn as many different things as possible.
Going into a game mode without knowing what the objective is, that´s just stupid. Do what the mode says you have to do in order to win, cuz your team is expecting you to do everything you can in order to win. If you wan´t kills and only kills, play TDM. Don´t sit in an AA gun for an entire match just because you got taken down by a jet once, play on and focus on the objective instead. Do what you´re good at and don´t try anything new when loosing, play safe. PTFO all the way!
how can u help them if no one ever has a mic. its so annoying cus i always try to be a team player but no one else will and they dont have mics so you cant discuss tactics (xbox 360)
ive not got many tips because i only play as recon but im pretty sucsecfull at it by following these rules 1 dont take wild shots its not cod so make sure u aim for the head and that u dont miss but with a semi auto sniper u dont need to exactly 2 once u kill someone move cause soon enough they will find u and murder u 3 use ur secondary its there for a reason 4 and i bitch about this alot watch ur distance bullet drop does ocour and also some some snipers have more of it than others so watch it
Don't snipe from days away. It doesnt help your team and gets people pissed. If You wanna snipe do it around the objective. Not from a hill 20M from your deployment.
Talk about Vehicles and how they should be used ? Also If you want your engineer task thingy, You could destroy a morter, or go into rush and destroy a amtrack, you cant repair them, you can only hurt them, No one even has to be in it :P
Start off as engineer. Easiest kit to play, shoot tanks and take out vehicles with your RPG/Stinger. Once you get confident at shooting and tactics move to Assault and support where you have to understand what you're doing more. Assault sits back and slays, he provides the spawn point and goes LAST into an area, Support provides the supression and should always push up first. But of course thats only when you need to play properly to win and not steam rolling over a team. Start with conquest.
I cant log on to battlelog because its gay. So if you wana play in a squad with me on bf3 that would be cool. I play on xbox and im 16 and live in da u.s. of a. My gamertag is blueSWAT 99
Don't fly jets/helis if you don't know how. When the team is loosing it's not time to go to learn how to fly. Let the experts handle the air vehicles at first spawn and during loosing games which can turn the tide of the battle. Once your team has a good lead, that's your time to start your flying practice.
dont think this is cod dont qwik scope

@oplim77 If the player is squad leader (i.e. they have a star as well as a triangle, I find you have to aim just below the star and slightly to the left. p.s. I play on Xbox but I suspect it is the same on other platforms.
SMaxPete 1 month ago
@oplim77 well if there running slightly aim in front of them not to much so the shots and him line up
mthicninja 1 month ago
@MrJoker9907 under the triangle. the star just means that he is a squad leader.

@robertt756 Thanks :) Im sensing some sarcasm from Colin so i wont answer his reply. I think hes still a bit grumpy :)
MrJoker9907 1 month ago
@MrJoker9907 Ya i tend to aim right below the triangle also and you can usually get the kill if you burst your gun a couple of times.

Spotting no one ever spots and drop the grenade launchers and use health packs ftw
summerdude9 1 month ago
Pro Tip: PTFO, it's called playing the fucking objective!
Wanna play assault, switch between grenade launcher, smoke and med kit for the situation.
Wanna play engineer, shoot down the choppa! or team up with someone in a vehicle.
Wanna play support, give ammo and C4 the sh*t out of those tanks.
Wanna play recon, fine just play it to help your team not to help yourself.
MGApcPro 1 month ago
@oplim77 Colin: there doesn't have to be anyone in the vehicle to get the assignment. Just destroy the enemy vehicle and you'll be good. If it says vehicle destroyed then you got it.

PTFO yea lets cap them flags and armed them M-coms level 43 waiting to get my service star
MrTwin100 1 month ago
Tips for Chrismass noobs :
When on my team,
-PLAY THE OBJECTIVE !
When on the enemy team,
LET ME WIN

Before or getting in any vehicle actually look up the controls for them. And when you get into the vehicle take things slow and get a feel for it, especially the air vehicles. Too many times I've seen someone get into the chopper go up, lean to one side, and immediately crash. Also, just because you can't be God at the game in a few days doesn't mean it is a bad game. Give it time and patience and I can guarantee you will grow to love it just as much as the rest of us more "seasoned" players.
laxlaxlaxx 1 month ago
1. Don't camp the vehicles 4 dudes camping the chopper (I've seen it) is a third of your team.
2. Don't waste the vehicles (example: take off in chopper, crash within a minute, repeat for the duration of the match). Vehicles in this game are too valuable, if you don't know how to use them find an empty server or co-op.

zetuga1969 1 month ago
Pro tip: Use the back button (select or what ever it is default on PC) to SPOT!
Rank up your guns in Deathmatch.
Don't stand directly in front of people on your team.
Throw med packs, the lack of ribbon is not an excuse.
You can set and forget the soflam if you point it at a vehicle spawn.
Wait before you spawn on team mates if you see gun fire, don't give a free double kill.
Lastly, shoot the enemy. Full auto if right next to you, burst if further away.
RabbitsRi 1 month ago
On conquest capping flags> killing people.. all though it doesn't hurt either if you can do both well :D. Learn to aim and always shoot first ask questions later.. last one is a philosophy i have adopted lately.. there is absolutely no reason to wonder if that bush or dark corner is a enemy just shoot it and you'll know.

on maps with jets or choppers:
RUSH (ATTACKER): spawn in the jet or chopper right at the start of the game, get to the objectives as fast as you can and arm at least one of them (both if you can). this will distract the defenders (usually) enough for your team to move up safely even if you have to sacrifice your self
CONQUEST: rush a flag near the middle of the map, this gives a forward spawn for anyone a little late to the game, and gives you a buffer zone for caping the closer flags
Snakebiteloo 1 month ago
Top Tip: shoot the people with red names above their heads
devilsrfun 1 month ago
If playing Rush always CLEAR the Area NEAR The Objective.
If playing Conquest. SPOT SPOT SPOT! And DON'T DIE!
StudiosXPS 1 month ago 16
revive but be smart about it. that is to say, a) be aware of your surroundings b) remember the length of time between deaths since most people don't wait c) remember that you have the ability to save tickets. probably more reasons but those are the ones I can think of.

first tips to noobs dont play battlefield 3
ohiorocks098 1 month ago
I find half the time the enemy isn't watching the objective and most of them won't make am effort to defend it, so it is very easy for 2 people to arm the m-com or take the flag. I guess what I'm trying to say is dont be afraid of going near the objective because only 3 or 4 at max people will make an effort to stop you

just destroy an enemy mortar or any kind of equipment for that matter with the repair tool, it also counts as a destroy vehicle ;)
Zinzuvas 1 month ago

PTFO all the way!

ive not got many tips because i only play as recon but im pretty sucsecfull at it by following these rules 1 dont take wild shots its not cod so make sure u aim for the head and that u dont miss but with a semi auto sniper u dont need to exactly 2 once u kill someone move cause soon enough they will find u and murder u 3 use ur secondary its there for a reason 4 and i bitch about this alot watch ur distance bullet drop does ocour and also some some snipers have more of it than others so watch it

Don't snipe from days away. It doesnt help your team and gets people pissed. If You wanna snipe do it around the objective. Not from a hill 20M from your deployment.
rockdrummer1226 1 month ago

LivingInTheCornfield 1 month ago
Don't fly jets/helis if you don't know how. When the team is loosing it's not time to go to learn how to fly. Let the experts handle the air vehicles at first spawn and during loosing games which can turn the tide of the battle. Once your team has a good lead, that's your time to start your flying practice.
