The king is King, though many "egg shells" u will find in road, but Amby is Amby, parts available in remote places also, wen u r in a amby u fell safe, thanx 2 the 3 box design and solid body....hats off 2 u amby n thanx 2 HM also for continuing its production, the new retro look is expected within aug 2011, R&D by a famous European firm.

in 1976 we had one, WMJ 5368 AND THEN IN 1983 ANOTHER, MMG 1357, NO A/C, NO PWR STEERING, NO PWR WINDOWS, BUT WHAT IT HAD IS A LOT OF CHARACTER, IN MMG, AS A KID I HAVE TRAVELLED ALL OVER RAJASTHAN, MP, UP, THE BEAUTY DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM MUMBAI TO SATNA (MP) WITHOUT A HITCH!!!!

Truly an amazing car. The HM has not changed it's shape since 1950 . but they still had added much facilities into the ambassador . I really love the ambassador.

i think car fanatics should start soupin up the ambassadors, follow the american hot-rod tradition, our country has good mechanics, its upto car aficionados, to trick out these traditional beauties instead of modern characterless rides.

Some people here Says it gives bad image, but the the thing is the Harley Davidson people crave for is also from past but its a phenomenon performance and the grundge of the engine is legend(don't care if old fashion).Hindustan motors should only take care of the enhancements in the technical performance, and emission norms, the look is good.I thgink HM is currently having financial Problems becoz of Sales.

@Shutkaroo if you check properly then VW is still manufacturing Beetle with new design & Ambassador is totally changed from what it was called Baby Ambassador which was i guess 1960's model or something. But now new design & engine under the hood is totally changed what it used to be. so if it is still an old bullackcart, then it seems that you are ignorant towards something. Yes I do agree that HM started modernizing late. But better late then never :)

but then i thought about it more and i realise there is no point trying to copy the modernity of the west. let us have our own style. this car isn't old, its retro :-)
