I'm a mythology and folklore nut and have never read anything on that, and Kappa get's mentioned on sites that talk about goblins (nature of some goblins) and vampires (the whole ass thing). Eating the souls of children, that's a new one for me.

There's nothing mentioned of eating a child's soul. I've read that once before. An additional read through has brought the same results. About the only thing new to me are one of the things Kappa are compared to, which would be the Näkki. Though, I'm surprised there's no relation to cryptid articles. I've seen Kappa get mentioned on sites that normally mention bigfoot and chupacabra.
