its been 3 months, in that time i found out 2 things for this subject, 1: lego's can be bought cheaply at (the Lego store) they got lego stores in ALOT of malls, and you go in and get as many of one kind, or color as you want for like 8 bucks. REALLY great deal. and 2: Task 4 from smooth on is the BEST plastic i have ever cast with. it will even cast warhammer figures, cause it uses a chemical reaction to get hard unlike most plastics that uses heat reaction (thus making small models impossible)
What set of Legos did you buy? i had this idea years ago but every time i go to Toys r us or anywhere they only got 60 dollar sets of like castles and shit lol
I tried this before with RTV silicon, but when I made the second half of the mold the two halves stuck togeather even though I used mold release! Is there any advise anyone can offer? I thought about using RTV Polyurethane. Please help!!!
How long did you wait for the the rubber to harden before you pulled apart the lego form? ANother question is does the rubber expand? It seemed once it had dried that it was alot of rubber for the one side of the mold.
awesome tutorial, thanks for doing this. I've been researching casting for a short while now, and I'm basically set on starting with that same exact kit from Smooth-On. Anyways, had a thought while watching this, could you spray the mini, and parts that you're duplicating with the mold release prior to pushing it into the clay? wondering if that would reduce the amount of clay sticking to the model when you separate the first half of the mold. Hope that made sense. thanks!
@XanderXereus how long do you leave the Plastic for because you have not stated it

Using the Lego for your form is brilliant is reusable and totally modular/ adjustable.

ever try using mold release on it before sticking it in the clay so it doesn't stick in it as much?
