Sirota is brilliant, but I just noticed he fails to remember that distrust of government was a left wing characteristic from the late 60s to the early 80s. He could write another interesting book about how the right wing stole the outsider label from the 80s until now? After all governments are by their very nature, conservative, especially now when even our democratic president is attacking the new deal.
