While I disagree with the review I did enjoy it. I've only recently come across you on the internet to which is a disservice (only as recently as you AVP reviews on TGWTG). That said I enjoyed this movie but I will agree with some of your criticisms, I didn't mind Frank being hard as nails (he shows some of this in the comics) however the film is tonally inconsistent, trying to be moody, actiony and while being campy, it just doesn't work. Also, the little kid didn't need to be in this movie.

While I thought the review was funny and good I actually thought this was pretty good movie.  It wouldn't make too much sense for Punisher & Jigsaw to have a one on one fight without his lackeys. Frank is trained by military, Jigsaw's a pretty boy. I wouldn't see that one lasting long. lol. still great review though.

I liked Warzone. The Punisher is a guy who shoots and kills bad guys, and that's what he does. I liked the 2004 film and the Dolph Lundgren Punisher. Warzone felt like the 89 Batman meets Kick-Ass. It's like a homage to over the top 80's action movies.  However, your review of it was hilarious. good job.

My problem with this movie just was that everything was to easy for the punisher. And just one scene were we see he's actual suffering from his family loss.

The rest was a cool soundtrack. After all not that good like the Punisher with Thomas Jane.

I thought this movie could have been saved by some creative covering up. The villain should have been in a less stupid accident and received just a cut on his face from P and then because he's so crazy, lost it and seen the over the top Jigsaw's reflection in the mirror, but there is nothing wrong with him and his brother being equally as warped plays along with it just like how it happened. Problem solved. The handsome Jigsaw was a far more intimidating character for the five minutes we saw him

It was very close to the early Punisher stuff I've been reading in Essential Punisher and you're right the main cast are awesome.

As for the villains I thought Jigsaw always was a bit cartoony. His origin in the orginal was off pannel and stupid (he went through a window) so at least they cleared that up. Personally I think they should have made the plot of the Movie Liscened game from the first into Warzone. Including a RDJ cameo. "You're asshole Stark you know that!"

It's like the makers of this film thought, 'Hey, Punisher is A comic book hero, so let's have him do comic booky things like jump from building to building, and kill people in silly ways.' That's not how he works. Even thou he comes from the marvel comic book world doesn't mean he has some kind of enhanced powers. His lack of superpowers, and military training is what sets him apart from other Marvel super heroes.

I got no problems with the first Punisher movie I have to admit I liked it but what I didn't like was that the main baddie wasn't more badass, anyway this punisher movie has something called the Sam Raimi factor, you might ask what that is? Its simply the fact that the director runs out of ideas and he decides to kill off characters to avoid any brainstorm to add them in sequels

I remember that they even claimed that part 4 was going to be the final chapter and yet the kept going and going. The whole thing has become a big joke.

Can I add that the choic of Jigsaw as the main villain was a terrible idea in itself? In one of the Punisher comic books, Jigsaw 'returns' from some battle with Punisher (that I never saw) and Punisher doesn't even remember him. The writers made fun of how lame Jigsaw was! So why make him the main villain?

@MrThePandaman That's a fine point after all The Punisher's arch-nemesis is The Kingpin, but I guess I would have been illegal to have Kingpin in two marvel movies. Any hoo, the trailers promised us a more "Hard Core" Punisher. I though Jigsaw was a good choice for the particular tone they were going for....until I saw the movie.

@ERod2010 Dude, War Zone brought out the badass in the Punisher, he's suppose to be a dark merciless character using all the tricks of his trade to annihilate the criminals of the world. Sure it was action driven, because it needed to be. How sympathetic should Frank Castle be after losing everything against those who ruin his lively hood. Thomas Jane made the Punisher a wimp. Punisher War Zone isn't the best movie ever, but the best of the 3 Movies released thus far.

If they were showing War Zone on a plane, I would rather WALK OUT of the plane then watch this movie again. Biggest waste of 2 hours of all time. Maybe if it had a good plot it would be different, but it does not which destroys the only positive thing about it: the fact that it is based off of the comics, though like I said the lack of plot destroys any good of that. Punisher 04 was awesome and much better.

Agree'd on your review. The movie did suck and the 2004 version was much better. A lot of people say this movie is more like the comics.. as I've read some it's true that there is more likeness to the comics but they just flopped the movie. Ray Stevenson was a great Punisher, he looked a lot more like him then Thomas Jane did, but Jane was in an overall better movie.
