people.. when new migrants like me have come to australia.. if we behave in a good manner that fits the majority of the population here... and if we are willing to contribute to this society, would you,, like in your heart, sincerely accept that this person has become an Australian?( well let's assume that he/she has already got the citizenship) thumbs up for yes and thumbs down for no? just asking out of my curiosity?

Australia needs fruit pickers & waitresses, preferrably attractive ones, our youth house share & surf close to centrelink offices. Forget high paying jobs coz there aren't any, you won't be able to afford the rent nor a mortgage because all houses are $1 million, the air & beach are free that's one benefit but the rest will be a struggle also our spiders are the size of your hand so if you can bear that come on over, oh, bring lots of money, we need it coz Gina Rheinhard has ours.

Not only Australia needs migrant, even my small hometown (Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia) needs migrants or (transmigrant). The worst part is there are a lot of transmigrant who's from Java and they seem don't like church. Not against the religion, but the behavior of the people.

Remember Australia is a country full of immigrants and migrants. It's been that way since 1770 and it will always be that way.  That is what has made Australia great!

@m3ekag We NEED migrants! There are too many jobs for our population, so productivity in Australia is decreasing. Housing is overpriced and the cost of living is high because Australians are per capita the highest paid people in the world. You CAN get jobs in the mines, it's NOT a mates only industry! No cities are in a GFC, the Australian economy is the best performing and fastest growing economy in the developed world in 2011! And rent does not cost 1200 a week! It's somewhere around $300

Bullshit, we don't need 2.4 million migrants at all, there are no jobs, housing is overpriced and the wildlife will kill you quick, you cannot get jobs in the mines it's a mates only industry, you'll pay $1200 week in rent in the desert, the cities are having their own GFC and many people are suffering mortgage stress, leave any thoughts of coming for another 10 years at least, you won't get a visa anyway unless you have $500k cash.
