Sorry I was a bit angry when I wrote my last comment not like me. Constructive critcism: On the start many of the athletes are understriding. Staying low is useless if your front foot strikes the ground in front of your knee. Second, on the stand up phase many of the athletes are overstriding their frequency is very weak and the BIGGEST bad habit of sprinters is overstriding. Think about your arms not your legs when runing, once you think about your legs you start kicking and you get burned.
@Mattu190 Well probably you are right. One of the sprinters are/were a little better than the others, especially in the start. Two of them were qualified and competed in the European championship 60m that year (Birmingham -08), and one of them Q for the semi, and his starts are far better than the rest of the group. After Norwegian national and european standard he is a good starter, but his transition phase and top speed was not good enough, when he competed international.
This is not very impressive sorry. Only one guy has the right idea on the drive phase, but his standing top speed turnover is slow the rest are stutter steping the start.
personally, i think it'd be best if u told them to lift their knees up a little higher when sprinting.. proper form and technique most certainly increases speed: doing A-skips repeatedly would probably help.
@FreePcGamesCentral SLOW!!?? SLOW? Do you know anything about track? All of these guys who just ran there have run a sub 6.80 on the 60 meter. Not the fastest in the world but still super fast for the average human.
the problem with these guys is that they are doing what some people call a "sitted" run where they arent really using their hips. the hips are important for driving them forward. thats just imo as an experienced runner. they do have a good frequency there though
Thanks for interesting comment. I think you are right for at least some of the runners. In parts of Norway this group has been criticized for too much strenght training, espescially squat training. From my point of view I think the quickest of this boys were quit strong in benchpress, high pulley and abs. But if you look at a more international level, I think many of the quicker boys are even stronger, as you suggest.
I see, their upper bodies seems weak considering they are sprint training, but this could be due to genetic limitations and or poor diet.
Along with abs, chest and back, arms are actually very important for upper body as stronger and heavier arms create more of a push to leap you forward, it's hard to explain but I think you get what I mean
At the time the video was made 3 of the bays ran 6,74. 6,80 and 6,83 at the 60m. All of them were better in the start than in the finnish. I can`t remember the times at the 30m right now, but I can check it out. We have times with contact-mat start and times with reaction on sound, and there was also some progress at some of the athletes.
Its almost as running outdoor, the spikes penetrate the surface a little, so it is not hard. Thought is is a little slower than a mundo/tartan. Some sprinters can have shin troubles, but not worse than outdoors, as i have notices.
Sorry for late reply. It is spikes. Almost as running outdoor, but the floor is a little slower, doesn`t give you the same reachtion force as mundo/tartan.
Its not hard. It is Pulastic Sportsfloor. A multisport floor for indoor only. The spikes penetrate the surface, but doesn`t harm the floor or slow you down.
are they wearing suction-cup-shoe technology?

Most of the runners need to work on their upper body, seems as if the power from the legs get wasted an upper body that cant keep up
