I think he could be competitive with Anderson Silva (he's too small to fight Lyoto at LHW). I certainly wouldn't say destroy. Cung has stated that he plans to pursue a movie career after fighting so he is taking advantage of the opportunities he's getting. I understand his logic but 1 year is too much of a layoff. Strikeforce has decided to make an interim belt because Cung is too busy doing movies. He is losing respect from fans. Fighters need to fight.

Cung has world class striking and wrestling. Anderson has world class striking and BJJ. I think it would be an interesting matchup. Silva does have a height and reach advantage but I think Cung's style poses some interesting challenges for him. For instance Cung could break Silva's clinch with his throws and keep Silva out of punching range with his kicks. Either way this fight would be very exciting. You've got two fighters with perfect timing and creative striking.

Cung has shown interest in competing in the UFC but still has atleast 4 fights left on his Strikeforce contract. He says the only way a fight with Anderson Silva would happen any time soon is if Dana allowed a champion vs champion matchup between them. I highly doubt that will happen. Dana would not risk a fighter from another promotion beating his champion. Cung would need to sign a multi-fight contract to ever compete in the UFC.
