I wonder if you got it working with a new battery. I have a Sony Clie TH55 and whilst it's a bit old now there are still things that I like to use it for. I find the Calendar, Tasks, Memo and Address book are still as good to use as say for instance the Blackberry PIM. If you sync with OUTLOOK you can then sync it to Google. The music player is okay too and if you use a micro SD card with a memory stick adaptor you can extend the memory to I think 4GB. Its best with a 3rd party app to view pics.
I just picked up the Sony Clie peg-t615c last week for $20. I'm still trying to figure it out. So far for the $20 it was worth it. I got the everything with it as well. Same as you it doesnt look like its ever been used.
Hey bbishoppcm I have the same one as yours mine is out of charge but I don't know how to turn it on again I bought a new battries but it didn't work it used to work befor my clie was out of charge any advices ! And thnx
My iPod Classic 5G has the same problem as that Cile. That device can no longer hold a charge as well. I tried to charge it up from my computer after not using it for quite a long time and the battery ended up stone dead.
Handsprings and Palms have replaceable batteries, just have to tear them down to do so on the rechargeable ones. If that Clie has a reset pin hole connect the charger and hit the reset and see if it charges.
On Handspring it depended on the model as to the case. The Visor and Visor Deluxe were monochrome with AAA batteries and came in graphite (black) or translucent ice, green, orange and blue. The Prism was similar to your Clie and was color with internal battery. Then they had other models. Palm bought Handspring and the brand belongs to them. When you were looking in 00/01 I was working for Jabil Global on the Handspring repair line doing Treo, Visor, Prism, etc. I have 4 Prisms & 4 Visor Deluxe
If that is a lithium battery, then those batteries will always degrade over time (they begin degrading after being manufactured). Keeping a charge in them (and a low storage temp) helps to slow down capacity loss, but it is inevitable. If you get a replacement battery try to make sure that it is recently manufactured, because if it is the same age as that PDA, then it might not hold a charge either.....if it is lithium based.
twist ending huh? thats a common mistake dumbasses make never charging the damn thing! even for electronics i now never use i still charge them once every 3 months not to mention every month when battery isint in operation it loses 2-5% of its total capacity! (that is if it is low on power) ussually batteries lose around 2-5 in about a year if taken good care of anyway hope you find a raplacement i woudent be too pissed off it was only 10 bucks :)
@geekforlifevandc Well, since it was likely never sold to anyone, I really can't blame anyone for this. I am considering replacing the battery, but if I do that, I'd have already invested six times its residual value...
I remember reading about the Handspring Visor PDA, and yes Handspring was the manufacturer, those PDA's from memory were known for their support of accessory add ons, I remember reading that there were lots of accessories slated and planned for release, things like Modems, digital cameras and MP3 players etc, I think one of the protocols Handspring put into place was that accessories should be used without additional software. I also remember these Clie units.
"Cheep Prick" I love that line dude ... I am so going to use that with a buddy lol. I was never into them handheld things, I have a game boy and up, ... much better.
