@MightySaxKid I'm just jealous that we didn't have the stuff you have when I was your age...You're very smart to use it and play very well...check out CBC3 you might like the music. (Bass pedals are over priced when you get off food stamps and someday have a job in a band).
I'm in the market for a bass combo and am pretty well decided on the Scout over a MarkBass/SWR combo...in your guitar center review you mention the overdriven sound made by high gain/low master - is that the setup you used for City of Delusion? In Uprising it sounds like you used less gain...also is this DI or are you miking the amp?
Wow, I forgot I did a review. At first I wanted a MarkBass combo, but after getting this there was no competition. Actually no, I used a fuzz from GarageBand. In Uprising I used only pedals. I was thinking for Exo-Politics and Time is Running would sound nice with the synth sound. But definitely get the Walkabout scout combo, because you could turn it into a stack. it is line in from one of the 4 ohms port. From now on I'm gonna use DI.
thanks for the info Demetri,,,ordering the amp next couple days- been sick so been quiet - you heard of Jean Jacque Burnell? being pretty old (compared to you!) i got into bass cos of his bass work with the stranglers- -kind of uncool music but he owned that Fender Precision,,,hear the intros to 5 minutes and no more heroes to see what he was like "School Mam - The Stranglers" sweet bass fills..plays like guitar fills.
@daytonacameras Just a side note, i got a new distortion pedal, the ebs multidrive, and I can get a synthier tone with that, not to mention a fuzz tone like this and an overdrive tone as well.
Sounds so full, Demetri. What a stout bottom end you get from the Mesa. Your playing is so dialed in that I watch you over and over. You feel every note.
