Salieri admitted to have lied to the Emperor of Austria about Mozart's improper behaviour with the teenager in order to prevent Mozart from being hired.
Really!? You cannot work that out yourself? Dad sounds too modren, too Americanised. Papa was and still is a common term in Italy and also the Royal establishment.
It happened to the greatest, most genius painters, composers writers that they could not buy food let alone clothes cos they were so poor. They are turning in their graves of how 100 of years later their work is in the spotlight of the modern area where ever we go.
One thing never changes, the damage a lie can do to another persons life. I speak from experience. Most people who haven't been a victim of this don't get it but it did actually end up killing Mozart. I can see why God made the commandment that we must never bear false witness...
Man, I never saw the uncut version before and despite his hatred against Mozart I still held him in high regard. But seeing him asking Stanzi to sleep with him, then humiliating her by sending her out half-naked and then ly about Mozart like that has made me lost all respect for Salieri (in the movie). and indeed I understand better why Stanzi hates him and doesn't want him to be near Mozart and the end of the movie.
@Dekirayne yeah, it funny but then again how many times do I hear things like the term chain reaction which was not known till Fermi or or other expressions which could not have been known at the time
Is there some reason why part 7 is missing? This uncut version has several scenes that were not part of the movie release that I saw back in the early 80's. I used to wonder why Stanzi was so rude to Solieri. Then I saw the uncut version where Solieri was asking Stanzi to come back later that night for sex.
@domingoreyesv I'm not sure about that... but the portrait of Leopold (seen in next part) - of course made to look like Roy Dotrice - has a very close resemblence to a real portrait. Do a Google image search of "Leopold Mozart" and you'll find it immediately.
So when he said teach another one of your dogs was he insulting the shy girl or her parents for being disrespectful because the girl didn't do anything...
@oliviarocker123 He wasn't really insulting anyone, he just felt insulted himself that the parents, while well meaning people, were making the lesson all about the dogs and treating Mozart like some kind of hired entertainment for them.
@IsaacTheGuitarist -- Summing up part 7: Saliari tells Stanzi that the price of his helping to get Mozart the job is for her to sleep with him. He prays to God to give him inspiration before she comes. She comes and strips down to petticoats (with bare breasts) before he stops her by summoning his manservant. She cries at home, Saliari tells God that he will do everything he can to hinder Mozart, then goes to the Emperor and tells him Mozart can't be trusted to be alone with women.
@IsaacTheGuitarist Mozart's Wife visit's Salleri to show him Mozart's work to convince him to get him the post of teaching the Emepror's niece, Salleri is struck with jealousy by Mozart's music and tells Stanzi to return that night. She returns that evening and strips for Salleri who furiously evicts her from his house, then Salleri ruins Mozart's reputation more by telling the Emperor that he's malesting young girl's and shouldn't be trusted alone with them so he's not hired for lessons anymore
None of us can imagine the smell on those streets...I've heard that wealthy Europeans would suck on oranges and lemons to take their minds off the stink. And this was Vienna, probably one of the cleaner cities.
Err...I just watched the full movie online, and part 7 has a nudity scene, maybe that's why they won't let it be put on Youtube. But yeah, Mozart's wife strips for the German composer, and they show full nudity for it.
@palalan would it have been worse in your opinion if he had slept with her and then refussed to help Mozart jus the same? so to a certain point it does show some integrety on his part. I really think that he did not even expect her to take him up on his offer so he basically made his offer not really believing it would be taken beyond just a way of saying no. Sort of like a man saying to a woman in anger "suck my ----" not thinking she will want to actually do it
@palalan - A lot of this Film is fictionalised, indeed its said that Mozart and Salieri actually got on very well for the most part and respected each other and that the alleged jealousy was merely competition, not much more. Regarding the Film, I think these were also left out because there might have been uproar over it. Whereas now, the Film is very well established, and these Cuts aren't talked about much I guess.

In part 6, Salieri tells Stanzi to come back that night. She comes back and gets naked in front of him. he stares at her and doesn't know what to do, so he rings a bell to call for his servant, to take Stanzi out of the house. The servant comes in and Stanzi stays petrified. Salieri leaves the room and Stanzi throws a thing with candles at him lol (I am sorry, my english sucks!)
@zoeichiblondegirl Salieri just said that so Mozart wouldn't get the post, he said Mozart had a lesson with Caterina Cavalieri, (I think it was her) and that he tried to molest her twice in the same lesson. so the emperor obviously doesn't want a molester teaching his fourteen year old niece, and he gave the post to herr zummer.
it is true that Mozart never did well economically, but he recognized young Hummel's genius and taught, housed him for 2 years free of charge. Hummel is definitely the most underrated composer in history. But, Chopin always loved Hummel and reguarly performed his piano concertos. Chopin piano concertos are so similar in style with Hummel's, just like how Beethoven's are with Mozart's.
in part 7 mozart's wife comes back at night. Salieri asks her to take some clothes off but after that he asks her to leave. Part 7 last like 2:00 minutes.
i do not blame the movie; my grandparents are not too crazy about that movie... because of the nudity, drinking, or the madness. the mozart laugh is the only part that thy like.

@zoeichiblondegirl Salieri just said that so Mozart wouldn't get the post, he said Mozart had a lesson with Caterina Cavalieri, (I think it was her) and that he tried to molest her twice in the same lesson. so the emperor obviously doesn't want a molester teaching his fourteen year old niece, and he gave the post to herr zummer.

never saw this scene before. mozart vs the dogs are a riot.

it is true that Mozart never did well economically, but he recognized young Hummel's genius and taught, housed him for 2 years free of charge.

Was some of this part of a deleted scene from the original? I don't remember Mozart taking any students in the original.
