may i ask what engine braking is? and what are the advantages to having one of those shifters, do you prefer it to an h-pattern?

Engine breaking is where you down shift early and use the engine to slow you down.

The advantage of a Sequential box is that there is no clutch on the upshift so there for alot faster to change up than your normal box.

Also if fitted with a flat shifter (a senser built into your gear stick) you dont need to clutch on downshft and no letting off on the upshift.
