  • a secret shopper job is as follows: get the instructions of how to shop the paticular store, then break out your wallet with your money and buy whatever, then send in a report along with a receipt or proof that you were there. then you get paid but usually it is not very much perhaps a $20 movie night may be a pay of $30-$40

  • The bank set her up. There I said it. The bank sent her the letter using a fake return address. They needed to make themselves look good by catching a criminal, so they would get more wealthy customers to deposit their money into their bank.

  • Of course, I have to be careful. I must investigate the companies and find if they have a BBB logo and or certification.

If I go to jail and get a record, then I would feel bad.

  • omg, she was doing a good thing if you ask me, she was asking if it was legit. they could've found the persons trying to get her to cash it.

  • The police are stupid...the lady did the right thing. If you cash a check and it ends up being a fake check, the bank holds you responsible and you will be paying back the funds.

  • This just happened to me today! Seriously! I received a check for almost 2500 dollars and instead of goinq to a bank I went to a check exchange! It was fake and I'm thinkinq God that he was with me because I almost fell for it!

  • @girldaisha2011 just happened to me today and i still have there working phone number 18556750255.

    ext. 1

I never cashed the check. I told them that I cashed it and that I was going out on a shopping spree... spending it all. Sue me.

  • So they put an innocent victim in jail just cuz she wanted to know if something's fake or real? Stupid, very stupid. Hello Duluth ppl, thanks for the warning, would had been better to tell her that instead of sending her to the smelly jail. This is not forgery, this is racist. She was probably sent to jail cuz she's black, this kind of scam also happen nationwide and nobody was ever sent to jail.

  • I think you need to fire your job coach and send them a link to this video. Just because the BBB logo is on documentation that does not mean it is legit . . . anyone can go and steal the logo and put it on their documentation.

  • @ScamVictimsUnited Thank you. Did the girl in the newscast finally get the charges dropped? I know all other videos say to bring it to the bank to report it but man if you get arrested for doing the right thing, that sucks! Hope she doesn't get stuck with a record. I know the USA is typical of that..

  • How are they ever going to put a stop to this if they punish innocent people who fall victim to this scam (especially with how the economy is right now more and more people are falling for this scam and when my own job coach falls for it you know that it is something happening to even people who should know better!)

Thanks for sharing your story and warning others!

  • That is what my fiance is worried about. I suspect the secret shopper that my job coach encouraged me to apply to (because the Better Business Bureau logo in on their site) that it is reputable and can be trusted but I don't trust this as I got the job description in mail (not email) with a $1500 money order and am supposed to "evaluate the postal service" as my first job by sending money over to the UK? I was going to go to the bank to talk to security or to the police but my fiance says no.
