@mest4ever its an american soldier, the term was usually used in the revolutionary war, like the British were the red coats and the americans were the blue jackets
@CadeHacker No, it's the civil war. Columbus was where the majority of the blue jackets the Union Army wore were made. (Why do ya think their official blue is called "Union Blue"?)
so if ur playing a competitive sport wouldnt u try 2 win. rick nash has only been 2 4 playoff games so he should leave tha blue jackets 2 go win tha cup
@jackets298 if ulook up the attendace from this date, it's not a sell out. Though there was a lot of fans there for a columbus game on this day. You don't see that too often especially these days
@Tallah0 Oh wow, you can barely hear that. This is terrible commentating, they should make it loud and clear if the Jackets won or not. They should probably repeat it a few times too so everyone hears it.
Totally on purpose. As he turns back towards the centre of the ice he lifts his leg. LIFTS. It doesnt slide out from under him. He slows up when on one leg, fakes a bit, keeps the puck on his stick then fires high right when on the back leg. Its a planned and very successful move.
He didn't loose his balance, and it wasn't on pupose.
Watch the video again, and pay attention to his lower left leg. I found it very clear that Nash's left ankle began to buckle inward as he veered to the left, and since he was in the middle of placing a shot, he didn't have time to correct himself. I find it quite obvious that his ankle went out on him.
yeah i believe he does this move on purpose.. it actually doesn't look that hard...if you have good balance and stability...it looks like like he lifts his leg...does a fake and it throws the goalie off for a second...watch how carefully he still has the puck on his stick..
I'm a Wings but without question, the cannon fire when the Jackets score a goal is THE best arena celebration...EVER. Thumbs up for the tribute to the Union Army of the Civil War.
thats "OK" to what ive seen look at some of ovechkins breakaway goals like the one against the habs. or in phoenix watch that stuff that is some crazy shit there
Nash said afterwards that he "lost his balance" but being an avid Nash/CBJ fan, I really think he said that just so it didn't seem like he was showboating when he did it. I think he definitely did it on purpose. If you notice, he's carefully cradling the puck the entire time, even when he's supposedly about to "lose his balance". like "shortysapimp" said, no pro hockey player is just gonna lose an edge like that, especially when you're as good of a skater as Nasher is.
@run4fun07 Dude , it is so obvious he lost his balance , I play hockey for like 12 years now and I m pretty sure that he lost it. But thats just my opinion tho
@liammunky nah dude, your completely right. he lost his balance and regained it when he shot, its obvious. watch his right skate as he lifts his left, it stutter-stops, meaning he was off balance. if he didnt score, the same kids saying it was an intentional move would be saying its one of the biggest shootout bloopers ever.
that was clearlllly on purppose. any of you guys who think it was accidental are out to lunch. clear as day it was on purpose no professional hockey player is just goona loose a skate like that, its like an old walter peyton scissor step if anyone knows what im talking about. bight the leg go top shelf atta boy nash keep it up for canada,
I'm pretty sure that he did it on purpose, watching his reaction after he scored. He's covering his mouth, not to show everyone that he's laughing that he pulled it off!!!!!
@xxxRICKNASHDABOMBxxx Ya everyone knows that when you score a dirty goal in the NHL you take your mouthguard out shortly after!! true fact watch every goal it will happen
@Cheezwise He was not in perfect control. He almost fell backwards. Check out the Dennis Wideman shootout goal for what almost happened to Nash. Would have been funny.
LOL, apparantly, you have never skated or played Hockey. He lost his balance for sure. that was not planned. it still looked cool but it was not planned.
lol yea you're right about me not skating or playing hockey i was just saying that nash it so aweome that it would not surprise me if he did it on purpose.

@IvegotYou21 first of all. goalies don't block, they attempt to "make a save". and the "flap" is the very normal butterfly position. learn hockey.
