at one time, a response to a hard foul was a hard foul. if it went further into becoming a brawl, they would be a quick fight that would get broken up. professional players, NO MATTER WHAT COLOR, are lucky that the furthest it would go is a seedy fine and missing a couple games. if it was a person on the street, they might get shot.

i agree with dr boyce, there's no reason to fight in sports. sounds contradicting, but i love to see hockey fights, throwing down the gloves, all the equipment, a little shaking the hips, & fists fly, made for TV.
