Women are gorgeous no matter what size and shape, whether petite or curvy, pear shaped or apple! People make such a big deal on weight nowadays and it annoys me. So long as people are healthy and happy, it doesn't matter.
My sister was very thin at one point... Size 0. She had a hard time finding clothes since most "small" clothes were still too big for her. Luckily she's gained a bit of weight and is at about a 6 now. She fits clothes much better and has an easier time shopping for them. My point? Just because one is thin does not mean that it's easy for them to find clothes that fit. I got your point though.
Well, for starters " 7,8,9x" is SO unhealthy honestly . Theirs a difference between not being skinny, being chubby, being fat, and being obese. Honestly no ones making you be " skinny" you can stay theway you want to but you have to deal with people laughing / talking abo you and not being able to find clothes . Although I am a 1x top and 20 bottom.... I will have to say... many of the stores do not go past 3x. I would love to shop at old navy, gap, or other stores, but unfortunately they only go up to size 14, some size 16, and on rare occasion 18. It is unfair. I have to agree. Fashion does not cater to obesity. I feel ya girl! I only hate shopping, especially with people I know because we wind up being divided. They shop at their stores and I have to shop at my own. they dont cater to morbidly obese people because economically it would not make sense. Yes nowadays there are many overweight people, but there are not millions of morbidly obese people running to shop at old navy, so it would not be smart to mass produce these sizes which potentially will not sell.
Target, macy's, dillards, jcpenney, and even forever21 carry extended sizes! So I think you need to do more research before you did this video. Also Aeropostle carries plus size online so does oldnavy
@xcutegirlx25 Did you know that those supposed plus sizes in stores such as Target, Forever 21, Old Navy and such are meant for people who are basically on the low end of plus sizing? Did you also know that sizing charts have become smaller and smaller and designers are tagging clothing that are just extra large or large as 2X, 3X, knowing full well they are not true to size? Also, did you know that anything today over a size 8 is considered plus size?

If you're happy the size you are, that's awesome. I don't think anyone should have to have low self esteem for their size. However, being overweight isn't like being black, or gay, you CAN change it. I'm not saying you have to be a size 6, or even a size 14, but if you can lose enough to get into a 3X, you can stop bitching that major chains don't carry your size. If it's such a huge problem for your budget and fashion sense (which I like) change! instead of asking chain stores to cater to you.
I'm sorry, but if you had any understanding of economics, you would understand the concept of supply and demand. Honey, there isn't a big demand for your size. Look around. Do you see a lot of people as large as you? I'm not trying to be mean, but please realize that stores will take a net loss in revenue if they have a ton of clothes your size. I'm very petite and can't fit into clothes because I'm so short, but I learn to work around it. Stop complaining or do something about your problem.
A lot of companies don't sell "fat clothes" because it actually costs more money to buy the resources to make the final product. Why do you think baby clothes are cheaper than adult clothes. Its because of less material. So companies cater mostly to normal sizes because most of the consumer are normal size. That's just how it works. However, with the population of overweight people exponentially increasing, many companies will be pressured to make bigger clothes. Cross your fingers, I guess.
The whole world is backwards. People say "lose weight" and all of this but sometimes it's not always the case. You can't tell somebody to do something about it, if they are happy with who they are, let them be. Clothing should be made for all shapes and sizes. Clothing should make us feel good about ourselves and feel confident to go out in public, not just for some people but for everyone, no matter who they are.
A mate of mine has this trick where he goes into a clothes shop & tries on a really expensive suit in the changing rooms, only to urinate in the trousers.
He then replaces it towards the back of the rail, where it probably won’t be picked out again for several hours/days. Sometimes I’ve gone in there a few days after he’s been in and the stink of piss is nauseating!
I don't have any sympathy for larger people. You CAN lose weight. You must eat a lot to be able to maintain that weight. It's simple, if you don't like the clothes made for larger women then do something about it. Good luck.

But to get a gastric bypass surgery, you are on a looooong wit list, at least here in BC, Canada where I live. My friend has been on the list for ages, we only have one surgeon in BC ! That sucks... but well, you could go somewhere else. It is not a plastic surgery, it can actually saver your life. it isin't healthy to be a size zero as much as it isint healthy to be a size XXXX or whatever. not because of looks, but because it's just plain dangerous for your body. But people are these sizes and if society will make size zero clothes available freely, they should make size XXX clothes just as easy to obtain.

Why don't you start losing weight instead of expecting people to make bigger size clothes? I mean if i became too big to fit in size 4, i'll just go work out and get on diet so I don't have to go buy size 6. This helps me keep track on my weight too.

If you're happy the size you are, that's awesome. I don't think anyone should have to have low self esteem for their size. However, being overweight isn't like being black, or gay, you CAN change it. I'm not saying you have to be a size 6, or even a size 14, but if you can lose enough to get into a 3X, you can stop bitching that major chains don't carry your size. If it's such a huge problem for your budget and fashion sense (which I like) change! instead of asking chain stores to cater to you.

I'm sorry, but if you had any understanding of economics, you would understand the concept of supply and demand. Honey, there isn't a big demand for your size. Look around. Do you see a lot of people as large as you? I'm not trying to be mean, but please realize that stores will take a net loss in revenue if they have a ton of clothes your size. A lot of companies don't sell "fat clothes" because it actually costs more money to buy the resources to make the final product. Why do you think baby clothes are cheaper than adult clothes. Its because of less material. So companies cater mostly to normal sizes because most of the consumer are normal size. That's just how it works. However, with the population of overweight people exponentially increasing, many companies will be pressured to make bigger clothes. Cross your fingers, I guess.

The whole world is backwards. People say "lose weight" and all of this but sometimes it's not always the case. You can't tell somebody to do something about it, if they are happy with who they are, let them be. Clothing should be made for all shapes and sizes. Clothing should make us feel good about ourselves and feel confident to go out in public, not just for some people but for everyone, no matter who they are.

But to get a gastric bypass surgery, you are on a looooong wit list, at least here in BC, Canada where I live. My friend has been on the list for ages, we only have one surgeon in BC ! My ONLY problem shopping is for bras- I weight around 130, 140(I fluctuate) and love my body so much.. so does my husband. but I DIE looking for bras- I'm a DDD to an F cup depending on the brand. I've had my breasts since I was 9 years old, and I HATE that all the sexy, pretty bras are for skinny-ass flatchested NOTHING 'babyprostitute' 12yos.. not even victorias secret in my mall sells bras bigger than DD's.. I eat very healthfully now, and this is where my body is comfortable. I didn't say anything about her weight being "normal," I just want to make the point that there are reasons people gain weight that are out of their control. Good for your Mom, but there are tons of people who try and are unsuccessful.
