This made things a lot easier for me. I used to manually enter notes, move them to where I needed them and then enter manual values for the wheel. Not anymore!
I have found that when people have strange problems like that, it is usually because of a wrong driver mode. For more info about driver modes, please see my video called "Sonar First Time Setup".
Compressing an audio track will make the loud parts quieter. This evens out the peaks and makes the whole track more uniform. To do this, right click in the FX bin of the audio track and select a compressor from the list.
See how to insert FX in the bin by watching @ the 2 minute mark in my video called "Sonar Fades and FX"
thank you.i got it.....it really helps me a lot....now i'm using my midi keyboard with sonar 7.if i want to learn more,i will ask you again...pls beg me.i know you're a kind person...thanks
i'm just a beginner and it helps me a lot.easy to learn because of you.please make a video on how to use my keyboard to record a midi.what will i do?pls.... thanks in advance....
Yes you can - it seems you need to set it on the SOFTSYNTH you are using instead of in Sonar. For example, Dimension Pro has its own setting called "Bend Dn/Up" and is set for just 2 steps by default. You can crank it all the way to 2 octaves up or down :)
It's a shame that there are not 3 separate tools. pencil, line, and curve. My prg, which is ancient, has all three without having to hold shift, ctrl or any other keys.
The curve tool, available to me, makes for much more realistic and natural sounding bends.
I appreciate your vids though. Seeing as my prg is no longer sold or supported, eventually I will have to move onto one that is.
I tried this technique to modify volumes of an event (ie crescendo) but I couldn't an instrument to become louder or software by holding down the CTRL during its event. Is there another way to do this?
This was helpful. Thank you. Do you also have a video explaining how to automate knobs from VSTis? I've tried to enable Automation Write, but the knobs and sliders in my VSTis won't automatically slide after arming and recording a track.
DustyPuppy really knows how to teach. There is not a second wasted in this tutorial and each step is clearly planned to be transparent and unambiguous. I hope he continues to turn them out. I am trying to master Sonar 8 right now.

@dustypuppy How do you load a track(recorded or live)into Sonar LE or Sonar 8?
Chicago10281 1 year ago
@Chicago10281
Open Sonar and highlight an audio track.
Go to File / Import / Audio to load an audio file into Sonar.
Or arm an audio track and record it live.
I hope this helps

@dustypuppy And how about compressing an audio track? What does that mean and how can you do that?

Yes - for that you would use and envelope. For more info on that, see my video called

I don't have a video of automating parameters in VSTs but I will try to make one sometime soon:)

I think that's pretty easy! All the producers(even big name producers)& recording engineers use it!
