cool i will do just been out catching mackeral ready for a trip we got tommorrow on spindrift off holyhead we are hoping to get some tope n that shud be gud fun
sounds cool mate we are off on a evening trip today breaming then off to the reefs looking for tope conger, and hopefully some skate. i had a 34lb tope last sunday my biggest yet a nice fight regards bob
when conger fishing if its not being eaten we always cut the line to release the fish, it will not take long for the hook to rot and fall out. at the end of the day its the sport of bringing a big fish from the sea bed to the boat is what the sport is all about. and the release so the fish can live to fight another day. plus and there is always a chance of a free meal.
We fish mainly off the north wales coast and always net and weight sometimes tag the fish and release it back especially tope, spurdog and smoothies.. conger we normally weigh and release. If the fish is good to eat then thats fair enough. Conger 10-15lbs are ok for eating but anything over that its a waste really. Where do you normally fish?

the only reason the fish was gaffed. was because the fish was to be eaten
