She (Sohni) is standing on the river bank of Chanab saying " Kande Utte Meheraman Way, Menoon Tereiyan Udeekan"

It means, I am waiting for you standing on the bank of the River.

The river is at full Swing. Sohni tried to cross the river with the help of the pitcher, it dissolves in the water and Sohni drown in the river.

SOHNI=  A God-lover

GHARA(Pitcher)= Religious leader, God-father

Darya(river) = World

A God lover is looking forward to see his God but his godfather is not knowlegeable(strong) enough to get him through the tough ups and downs of this world. Thus causing him to waste his life.

My heart longs to see the face of my beloved.( In short Sohni tried to cross the Ravi River taking an earthen vessel as means to float, but perishes in the attempt).

@mubashir56 Hi, I am looking for the song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan about the commentary of the time when Sohni is crossing the river (Beas?) on the earthen vessel that was not fired ... (as the story goes .. her family members replaced it). In the song ..the vessel is telling Sohni that she should not have trusted it .. and it doesn't stand a chance against the current. But Sohni pleads it to stay intact till it reaches the other end .. she tells it that the corner is not far away but it fails!
