Only a boring no life geek would take the time to edit that, and after all that you missed the most obvious part of all! When he walks out of the building in supremacy it's a sunny day, but in ultimatum it's a snowy winter! Either way I don't give a shit! This trilogy will never be matched!
Funny how, in the "Bourne" movies, seasoned spy chiefs like Pamela Landy always work in office buildings with giant glass windows with no shades or blinds drawn, allowing any schmuck with a $20 pair of binoculars to observe them from afar...
@alancats It's just a film [movie] friend!! If we all took exception to poetic licence in the 'movies' half of American war films would have to be remade to take out all the bits they've credited to the US Army which would truthfully have otherwise been credited to the allied forces as a whole - but it's just Hollywood being prosaic; we (mostly) don't mind. This is my favorite scene from both movies. Its awesome- and you did a great job with comparing them! Thanks for posting :) Bourne and Landy are my fave characters too. :)
Love the ending of "the bourne supremacy",when he says she should get some rest and she realises he's watching her, again. And then the music kicks in.Great cinema!
I don't understand why they didn't just use the same footage from the old movie. By filming it over, they were bound to have some inconsistencies (no matter how minor), and some guy was bound to make the video I just watched.
Just using the exact same footage would have been cheaper and more consistent.
@Purushadasa Because Matt Damon looks much older 3 years on. Don't know why, maybe he's been partying hard. This means viewers would have noticed the difference straight away. If they wanted to achieve consistency with Supremacy footage, they would have had to get him to look like he did in Supremacy all through Ultimatum, which would have meant LOTS of make up, and would have looked unnatural. So they did the best they could.
@Rokkoko Gotcha. But is this supposed to be the same conversation in a flashback, or is it supposed to be the same two people repeating the same conversation that they already had?
If it was supposed to be a flashback, they could have used the old footage without continuity problems. If it was supposed to be the same conversation, then that is simply bizarre.
@Purushadasa It's not a flashback neither a repeat of the same conversation. It is exactly the same conversation. Only this time we also know what happened between Moscow and the time the conversation took place.
@Purushadasa didn't I explain that to you 3 posts ago? "they couldn't do that because the seasons were different, in supremacy it's summer and in ultimatum it's winter and as a consequence of that the lighting would be different, so replaying the same scene would actually mess it up even more(consistency wise)"
@Purushadasa no they couldn't, becouse they couldn't fix the same equipment and clothes (or it would have been hard to do it). If they would have used the old videos they would have needed to make sure bourne and Pam had the same clothes, same office, same haircut etc. otherwise you can notice if such things changes. So taking the old scene and try to suit everything up after it, is much harder then just doing the scene again. Some years between them also. Probably changes their cameras etc too.
@Purushadasa of course it is, it's the logic way of thinking. The filmmakers considered it too hard to use the old scene, and filmed it again. You couldn't tell them from eachother if you wouldn't put them together, like in this video. :P
@Purushadasa they couldn't do that because the seasons were different, in supremacy it's summer and in ultimatum it's winter and as a consequence of that the lighting would be different, so replaying the same scene would actually mess it up even more(consistency wise)
The best way to watch the trilogy is by skipping the last scene of Supremacy, makes more sense and feels better dramatically. That scene being at the end of Supremacy is the one flaw in these films.
As per prodigalsunscreen's comment, I thought it was fairly obvious as well why the endings are seemingly "identical." Pam tells Jason his birthday in Supremacy, and a fake date that corresponds to the address code in Ultimatum. Its not a fluke, mistake or even a coincidence; very much the opposite.
i always thought it was dumb having the same scene in both movies even if it was on purpose..still great movies..bourne looks too different in the last on..like hes alot bigger and it doesnt match as well
the birthdate given in the two calls are different. in the second call, pam and jason both know the call is being monitored! :P nd so they try to keep it the same as before to hint each other that they both on the same 'side'.
would you please, please put together a medley of the various ways Pam Landy answers her phone? After all the hot dead agents, it is my favorite thing about the Bourne trilogy.
if you remmber in hte bourne supremacy he was looking with a sniper rifle on a roof.........these scenes are from the bourne ultimatum with cut scene from supremacy..........find the facts iam true i watched all f the movies.....

none of the bourne movies are really built on a solid base around the books. even identity its pretty much just the amnesia that links the film to the book. still good movies however.
Ahh, I prefer how the scene plays out in Supremacy, however Matt Damon is right on the mark with his timing in Ultimatum, heh heh. Also, there never was meant to be a third one, that scene at the end of number 2 was to add some closure to the film.
That's what I naturally assumed as well, it was just some trivia I read on a movie site somewhere but I suppose the info could be a little dubious ha ha. I'm glad they made a third one though and I hope they do a good job of the fourth one.

The two scenes are completely different from each other, taking place in two separate timelines. Why bring up differences? You should be bringing up similarities. The writer used a technique called parallelism.
To be honest I'm not even sure that you could even call the films 'loosley based'. When I read the books the stories were so far away from each other that all you could say that the screenwriters just used the characters from the novels.
people in bourne ultimatum is a continuation of bourne supremacy thats why the calls are the same because it shows everything he did before he got there..
None of you are right. The reason the scenes are the same is so bourne can pick up the difference in the number to jog a memory and telling him where to go. She knew she was being watched, have you people even scene the movies or just youtube clips?
You're not right either. The scenes are replicas of one another because Ultimatum takes place between the final two scenes in Supremacy. Thus, the final scene in Supremacy (the Landy call) takes place some amount of time after the scene before it.
The Final scene in Supremacy is an epilogue. The events of Ultimatum to this point are what lead up to this phone call. The scene before this one is the actual ending to supremacy, per say. You honestly think they had the same conversation twice, and all their mannerisms were exactly the same? Even the director has explained this, although it's not all that hard to figure out. Use some logic next time.
@torontotoker Well id rather hear all day a tree hugging whale protecting pussy than your fuckshit dumbarse football talking cheese for brains fuk boyfriend girlfriend dipshit tough guy beer drinking slobwave brain diveledging shit that i could hear from some arsehole on a bus or train or pub or church or some workers reuinion. In fact if someone gives a shit enough about the whales to show they do then how fucken Brave is that dipshit. Coz witch burners as yaself coward the fact love of fear./.
Can you please list the bourne series in the correct order i.e 1st, 2nd, 3rd,.. I just bought a collection but dont know which comes first.THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY.
Wait i'm not quite understnding this, I didn't think Pam told him his name in the second one. And did they mean to shoot booth of those scenes the exact same?
All three of the Bourne's rock so hard. But I did notice this myself at the end of the 2nd yet middle(ish) of the third, I never figured out why this happened, but as it has been pointed out, they have been shot seperatly. Even still, WiKiD films =D
There's supposed to be a fourth Bourne but it'll be an all original script. It won't be based, even loosely, on the fourth book. That came from Wiki. It can't be like the books since they killed off Marie. :(
Because the story wasnt finished, the writer of bourne serie. made a third part. Where he finds out the whole truth why he became the soldier (just watch the third part, you will understand then)
I also read all 4 books and I must say that in the books there is more deepness of bournes dilemma and problems. but the action scenes of course are "better" in the movies. damons way of fighting is amazing :-)
Ultimatum is great fun, but I always felt this was a narrative twist too far. You get 2 thirds into the 3rd film... only to get to the last 2 minutes of the 2nd film.
Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the Bourne trilogy, and Supremacy is one of THE greatest films ever made (love story, character study on assassins, a tale of revenge/redemption... and an amazing action movie)
I think the story in Ultimatum is possibly thr weakest of the 3, but the action scenes make up for it
Same goes for Ultimatum when the one chick is watching the news they say that they didn't find bournes body then she starts to smile and then that awesome song starts and shows Bourne swimming away.
I'm sorry, but this is a bit irritating that you took the time to point out the inconsistencies in the Bourne series. The Bourne trilogy is the best trilogy in the history of movies, and you're trying to find fault with it? Use your time doing something more productive, please. And be sensitive to those of us that want to view the Bourne series as it is--basically perfect.
Well, duh, I knew that she gave him a code. What do you think I am, stupid? I never said the director made mistakes. I just said that the person who uploaded this video pointed out other miniscule inconsistencies, such as the different lamps, etc.
nice vid ... apart from showing some inconcistencies, it shows very well the big work to keep both scenies the most similar possible. Great work on the movies !
It's true, they are different each other, but I think this fact is not rellevant for script of the movie, we could understand this difference like a different point of view, simply that. I love the 3 movies.I'm reading the first book in spanish at this moment (el caso bourne). bye.
Both are the same scenes happening at the same time. In the 2nd movie, this is meant as a final closing scene between Landy and Bourne. In the 3rd movie, we find that it is really Pam giving Jason a code in the form of a Birth-Date to lead him to where everything started for him. The final scene in Ultimatum does not lead back to the 1st movie, he would have had to drift over 5000 miles for that too happen.
Not too complex... I noticed a few of the inconsistencies when I first saw Ultimatum.
It's the same scene... The Ultimatum starts after the car chase scene in the Supremacy. Then, at the end of the Supremacy, it shows this scene, which is a bit in the future, as the Ultimatum show's all that was leading up to it. It's the same scene, they just re-shot it. Thus 'visual inconsistencies'.
Ohhhhhhhhhh......... I get it now! Thanks! So in supremacy they showed something that was going to happen in ultimatum! Huh, I wouldn't know cuz I only saw ultimatum, not the other too. But I have a friend who saw all three and he told me about it, but he didn't tell me about what you said, though. Thanks for helping me figure that out.
WTF!!? Are you telling me that they did almost the same exact thing in both movies!!!!!?? What a fcking rip off!!!!!!! I can't beleive they would do that!!! >:(
Pam said in Ultimatum: "Jason, your name real name is David Webb and your were born 4-15-71.
But a few minutes later you see the RIGHT birthdate on a screen: 4-15-70! So the conversation in Supremacy was real, the conversation in Ultimatum was just set up by Pam and Jason. It's all code what Pam says because 4 15 71, is a street in New York. They can't talk with common word etc. so they talk in code language.
Sorry for my fucked up english, but this is the solution =]
i noticed right away when watchin these films that they had used these scenes twice, but never understood why they did ?? do u think they were tryin to make the ending of the 2nd one look like a glimps into the future when they decieded to bring out the 3rd 1 ?? grrr i duno ={
Pam said in Ultimatum: "Jason, your name real name is David Webb and your were born 4-15-71.

ahh ok, i mean i realised at the end of the film it was the street, but did'nt realise the convisation had been set up, maybe because they knew volson would be listerning?
Anyways, awsome trilogy. apparently there making a forth... even though there wasn't a forth book
Yeah Jason and Pam are talkin about his "birthdate" 4-15-71. But his real birthdate is 9-13-70. 4-15-71 is just a code to meet eachother, and they're talkin like this beacause Noah Vosen is listening.
In bond movies bond just kills allt he bitches and blows up citys. Borune just fucking takes out who hes asked to take out and then just dips and beats the fuck out of who ever comes after him.
bonds all old fashion and relys on his fancy crap, bournes got his hands and a pistol and he does everything so planned out and ALWAYS knows wats goin on. BOND just tries to make big explosions and be a hunk.
The event being depicted is meant to be the same thing. In Supremacy, its purpose was to give closure to Bourne from Landy. In Ultimatum, it was revealed that the birthdate she gave him was really a code for an address he was meant to go to. They are the same thing, yet very different. Just shows how great the films are, how well made they are. Great Vid.
Why did they bother reshooting this? Couldn't they just cut the new stuff around it?

whatever idiots think it's ment to be exactly the same are fucking wrong.. the guy 2 comments below this one is right.
jayboy2kay7 2 years ago
To be honest I'm not even sure that you could even call the films 'loosley based'. When I read the books the stories were so far away from each other that all you could say that the screenwriters just used the characters from the novels.
BrilliantBobbie 2 years ago
people in bourne ultimatum is a continuation of bourne supremacy thats why the calls are the same because it shows everything he did before he got there..
musicmix09 2 years ago
None of you are right. The reason the scenes are the same is so bourne can pick up the difference in the number to jog a memory and telling him where to go. She knew she was being watched, have you people even scene the movies or just youtube clips?
torontotoker 2 years ago
You're not right either. The scenes are replicas of one another because Ultimatum takes place between the final two scenes in Supremacy. Thus, the final scene in Supremacy (the Landy call) takes place some amount of time after the scene before it.
prodigalsunscreen 2 years ago
The movies are in sequence how could it take place before? Tu esto loco?
torontotoker 2 years ago
The Final scene in Supremacy is an epilogue. The events of Ultimatum to this point are what lead up to this phone call. The scene before this one is the actual ending to supremacy, per say. You honestly think they had the same conversation twice, and all their mannerisms were exactly the same? Even the director has explained this, although it's not all that hard to figure out. Use some logic next time.

youre just sounding stupid right now...

Thanks, it's a lot better than sounding like some tree hugging whale protecting pussy like you.

In fact if someone gives a shit enough about the whales to show they do then how fucken Brave is that dipshit. Coz witch burners as yaself coward the fact love of fear./.
Nevawake 2 years ago
they meant to shoot these at the same time because of something that happens in the ultimatum. watch and find out.
sun17701 2 years ago
The reason Paul Greengrass put this scene is because the epilogue in Supremacy takes place during Ultimatum
pazuzurising 2 years ago
Why didn't they just take the footage from Supremacy and cut it together with that from Ultimatum?
Chingachgook12 2 years ago 2

Wait i'm not quite understnding this, I didn't think Pam told him his name in the second one. And did they mean to shoot booth of those scenes the exact same?
DanceWithYourSoul 2 years ago
All three of the Bourne's rock so hard. But I did notice this myself at the end of the 2nd yet middle(ish) of the third, I never figured out why this happened, but as it has been pointed out, they have been shot seperatly. Even still, WiKiD films =D
19SJM88 2 years ago
i just watched back to the future part 1 and 2 today. I dont get why they have to reshoot exact same scenes in movie sequels.
DarthAlSadr 2 years ago
i can't imagine what they'll put in the forth bourne movie if there is one
zxcvbmnbsbs 2 years ago 2
There's supposed to be a fourth Bourne but it'll be an all original script. It won't be based, even loosely, on the fourth book. That came from Wiki. It can't be like the books since they killed off Marie. :(
FricksBabyGirl 2 years ago
Man, to say the first three were loosely based is making loose look really loose.
bagOprions 2 years ago
agreed, im reading the books now, and so far they are not matching with the movies.
omxpablo19 2 years ago
I never had a clue how as to how similar those scenes were. god I swear this movie has the best theme song ever!
ams914 2 years ago 5
In one movie her phone was on vibrate in another her phone rang, I noticed that myself as well. But man you just can't beat Jason Bourne!
MatteisMaximus 2 years ago
Get some rest Pam, you look tired...
You can't beat that with a stick.
mfrofadventure 2 years ago 7
Dude if he already knew his identity in The Bourne Supermacy, why did they even bother to make a third movie?
gyrotuffjonykirby 2 years ago
Because the story wasnt finished, the writer of bourne serie. made a third part. Where he finds out the whole truth why he became the soldier (just watch the third part, you will understand then)
VicDeat1 2 years ago
Watch the third movie, you'll find out !

I also read all 4 books and I must say that in the books there is more deepness of bournes dilemma and problems. but the action scenes of course are "better" in the movies. damons way of fighting is amazing :-)
kletterkajo 2 years ago
you guys should read the ORIGINAL Bourne novels...the movie does not even come close to it in terms of being a thriller
emraancoolers 2 years ago
Ultimatum is great fun, but I always felt this was a narrative twist too far. You get 2 thirds into the 3rd film... only to get to the last 2 minutes of the 2nd film.
Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the Bourne trilogy, and Supremacy is one of THE greatest films ever made (love story, character study on assassins, a tale of revenge/redemption... and an amazing action movie)
I think the story in Ultimatum is possibly thr weakest of the 3, but the action scenes make up for it
iampaulrus 3 years ago
the ending of the supremacy was awesome, i just love hearing the beginning of that song
bordsox13 3 years ago 5
Same goes for Ultimatum when the one chick is watching the news they say that they didn't find bournes body then she starts to smile and then that awesome song starts and shows Bourne swimming away.
Deathofblades 3 years ago 10
I'm sorry, but this is a bit irritating that you took the time to point out the inconsistencies in the Bourne series. The Bourne trilogy is the best trilogy in the history of movies, and you're trying to find fault with it? Use your time doing something more productive, please. And be sensitive to those of us that want to view the Bourne series as it is--basically perfect.
spaciousgalaxy 3 years ago
Don't watch it if you don't like it?
He didn't "fault" anything, we still enjoy it as much as you do, kissass. You make no sense whatsoever.
kamalovjava 3 years ago 8
They were talkiing code. Thats why both scenes are a like. She gives him an adress instead of his real birhtday duu. So no director didn't fuck up.
godsbasterdchild 2 years ago 3
Well, duh, I knew that she gave him a code. What do you think I am, stupid? I never said the director made mistakes. I just said that the person who uploaded this video pointed out other miniscule inconsistencies, such as the different lamps, etc.
spaciousgalaxy 2 years ago
nice vid ... apart from showing some inconcistencies, it shows very well the big work to keep both scenies the most similar possible. Great work on the movies !
Yorgat 3 years ago
It's true, they are different each other, but I think this fact is not rellevant for script of the movie, we could understand this difference like a different point of view, simply that. I love the 3 movies.I'm reading the first book in spanish at this moment (el caso bourne). bye.
CES86 3 years ago
thats not enough to nit pick over...i've seen worse things in movies.

Great video. Although they did a really good job keeping the scenes similar.

it ended the film brilliantly, as did the ending of Ultimatum.

I've always wondered about these two scenes... nice job here. Very good comparison, GREAT MOVIE AS WELL!!!!
bluethunder121 3 years ago 5
Both are the same scenes happening at the same time. In the 2nd movie, this is meant as a final closing scene between Landy and Bourne. In the 3rd movie, we find that it is really Pam giving Jason a code in the form of a Birth-Date to lead him to where everything started for him. The final scene in Ultimatum does not lead back to the 1st movie, he would have had to drift over 5000 miles for that too happen.
Not too complex... I noticed a few of the inconsistencies when I first saw Ultimatum.
poetgirl 3 years ago 4
maybe they planed all that inconsistencies.
plumlove1995 3 years ago 3
I agree with you
darknightfan16 3 years ago
they can't just be that stupid.
plumlove1995 3 years ago
thats not stupid
darknightfan16 3 years ago
It's the same scene... The Ultimatum starts after the car chase scene in the Supremacy. Then, at the end of the Supremacy, it shows this scene, which is a bit in the future, as the Ultimatum show's all that was leading up to it. It's the same scene, they just re-shot it. Thus 'visual inconsistencies'.
Zorko43 3 years ago 4
Ohhhhhhhhhh......... I get it now! Thanks! So in supremacy they showed something that was going to happen in ultimatum! Huh, I wouldn't know cuz I only saw ultimatum, not the other too. But I have a friend who saw all three and he told me about it, but he didn't tell me about what you said, though. Thanks for helping me figure that out.
AnonymusNoOneUnknown 3 years ago 2
WTF!!? Are you telling me that they did almost the same exact thing in both movies!!!!!?? What a fcking rip off!!!!!!! I can't beleive they would do that!!! >:(

jst look at the above comment. ^
bubezz 3 years ago 2
fuck no thats not the solution! in supremacy she says 4-15-71 too! FUCK
JordiHagens 3 years ago
I mean: The code was 4-15-71, but his real birthdate is: 9-13-70
JordiHagens 3 years ago
I KNOW WHY IT IS!
JordiHagens 3 years ago 4
i noticed right away when watchin these films that they had used these scenes twice, but never understood why they did ?? do u think they were tryin to make the ending of the 2nd one look like a glimps into the future when they decieded to bring out the 3rd 1 ?? grrr i duno ={

ahh ok, i mean i realised at the end of the film it was the street, but did'nt realise the convisation had been set up, maybe because they knew volson would be listerning?
Anyways, awsome trilogy. apparently there making a forth... even though there wasn't a forth book
apophis84 3 years ago
Yeah Jason and Pam are talkin about his "birthdate" 4-15-71. But his real birthdate is 9-13-70. 4-15-71 is just a code to meet eachother, and they're talkin like this beacause Noah Vosen is listening.
JordiHagens 3 years ago
But why is Pam telling Bourne his real name and birth date TWICE ???
JordiHagens 3 years ago
But even the way Pam switched her hand on the phone at 1:44 is the same!

In bond movies bond just kills allt he bitches and blows up citys. Borune just fucking takes out who hes asked to take out and then just dips and beats the fuck out of who ever comes after him.

i watched the supremacy last night and i recognised this part from ultimatum WHY? im so lost
they're both good movies but do they both have the same scene? -angst-
harryeden123 3 years ago
The event being depicted is meant to be the same thing. In Supremacy, its purpose was to give closure to Bourne from Landy. In Ultimatum, it was revealed that the birthdate she gave him was really a code for an address he was meant to go to. They are the same thing, yet very different. Just shows how great the films are, how well made they are. Great Vid.
