  • he really takes us on a journey, with this one.

    simply awesome!

  • wonderfilled -- top rock my friend

  • DIMEBAG RULES AND STEVE TO!!!

  • i always used to like stevens guitar playng and still toady i must say YES this dude is great on Guitar for sure.

  • I have always loved this, although it may appear simple to some, as one of his best songs.

  • i love this song!

  • Nuno Bettancourt is the most underrated player ever!!

  • as a child always loved the songs from Billy idol, now 25 years later i know why...

  • this is good...but it not great.... jus dont blow me away like satriani or vai...or dimebag

  • @pmay222 honestly i think dimebag may the most overrated dude on metal history.

  • @gre1990 Dimebag is an absolutely amazing lead player, what about Cemetery Gates?

  • @pmay222 I don't think this is one of Steve Stevens more elaborately composed pieces, but I think it's rather sweet in its simplicity. Steve is about width of style, really, from those freaked out solos of Topgun Anthem to the cute and laid back passages in Josefine, for instance. My favourite track of this record would be Small Arms Fire but he holds back even there.

  • @pmay222 dimebag blows you away? seriously?

  • @pmay222 This is so much more of a 'song' than Vai or Satriani usually write, it's beautiful. Those dudes sound like computers

  • @pmay222

I think your meant to view it it differently, don't compare and just enjoy ! it's not meant to be technically all over the shop just a nice melodic put together piece ! p.s. Satriani and vai end up doing exactly the same licks on almost everything with almost minimal feel IMO, listen to some some 'Bozzio Levin Stevens' you may like it

  • what a guitar player !

  • Amazing !

  • ...unbelievable and genial....

  • michael jackson is dead -.- wow can some one gain recogtinion playng with him?

  • MOE´´IS Mai lai jios

  • You'd think playing for Michael Jackson would give this guy a nice load of recognition... same thing happened with Jennifer Batten who played on the Dangerous tour.... she's an extremely good guitarist but she's relatively unknown... at least Stevens is as known as he is.

  • I let some of my friends listen to Steve, they say damn, how come I don't listen to Steve. We all play guitar, some of my friends say he is overrated I disagree!

  • @RhiamonMaxwell60 This site really has EVERYTHING! I'll remember your comment for a long time... God bless you and your keyboard :D

  • Well I think he never gets recognition cause of his work with Billy Idol, cause Billy got all the attention. Plus the Atomic Playboys was horrible, he was never apart of a great band that made great music like when Steve Vai join Whitesnake.

If he had done something like that he would've been even bigger. To this day his biggest hit was Rebel Yell with Billy and The Top Gun Anthem with Faltermeyer

  • @CavemanJesus4Life Both of which are REALLY REALLY BAD songs. Now, compare that to this track or any track from Flamenco Go Go...

  • @CavemanJesus4Life Even through all the Billy hype, I certainly recognized the amazing guitar talent behind Eyes Without A Face, and Flesh For Fantasy. Fuckin' GREAT riffs. Steve has said in interviews too, that anybody can wank out wicked lead solos, but to write really catchy rhythm pieces is what makes your music appealing and recognizable. Steve's a guy who's got 'em both ~ riffs AND leads.

Just a really great guitarist. Great writer, great player.

  • tops masterfull all of this dude work is simply masterfull

  • I MET HIM!!!! his PRESENCE. just amazing.

  • @3mouskkeuteuses ... so cool to be you! Yeah, from all the video I've watched of him, both during performances, and more personal stuff (interviews, 'lessons', and such)... I certainly have to believe that it's true-enough "amazing" to be in Steve's 'presence'. Nice. =)

  • Love this, was my profile song on MySpace forever and still there in my music player. He is one of the best.

  • Amen "MoCatt" ... I met him once ... so talented that he has EVERY right to have a Holier-than-Thou attitude but was a truly sweet guy and after we left Backstage and I saw him perform for the first time I was almost starstuck ... and I grew up around all the celebs in L.A. ... Steve is TRULY one of the ALL TIME GREATS ... in any language, in any Universe ...

  • One of the great's right here people!

  • Couldn't agree more!! Steve is probably THE most underated guitarist ever!! He and Billy= GOLDEN

  • 3 reasons to use candoms

  • @AeKsSkEay rather inappropriate for a music video response I think......

    .

  • there is no underrated or overrated guitarists, there is only what they bring to music...

nothing special with him, just a good craftsman

  • Man....... I love this guy.

  • Always been a fan since I saw him with Billy Idol...

  • Супер!

  • If you have nothing nice to say why Bother saying anything

  • Who the fuck cares if he's underrated or not? I thank God every day that I could realize his greatness, unlike most people. Everything thats TRULY special is not that well known. Same goes for Steve! He's my guitar hero! YOU OWN STEVE!

  • very nice

  • Man I wish I could find tabs for this song :(

Cause I'll admit it I'm not good enough to sound out something like this, someone make tabs! :D

  • @ctvyy u should listen with ur own ear not others

  • @Yeeeeeeeaaaaah Lol, I know it's actually not that hard to sound it out xD

I managed to sound out the song about 4 days after I commented, cause my friend kept bugging me to, but thanks for the advice anyways xD

  • Just amazing

    If you agree... Thumbs UP!

  • Unlike the slow songs in Flamenco A Go Go album.

  • Awesome!

  • chi sono i 3 a qui non piace????

  • This is for YOUTUBE in general. What a waste of time...nothing every spools completely on here. Time to go the way of the DODO if that's the best technology you can muster in this day and age. SHEEESSSHHH! WHAT CRAP! I really want to see a complete video of this amazing artist. Guess I'll just have to find a REAL video.

  • @ivsala79 Then get the fuck off the website if you don't like it...Youtube provides me with a chance to hear music I've never heard before as well as music I can't find elsewhere, and also to post my own music.....I hope someone you love dies today

  • @MikesMusicChannel1How sweet. SEE YA' SOON.

  • @ivsala79 hmm that's strange,..what service do you have? maybe it's your connection rate....if you have cable and it's still stopping,..then that strange,.. but totally stinks.. hope it works out for you Ivsala79,.. :)

  • This is for YOUTUBE in general. What a waste of time...nothing every spools completely on here. Time to go the way of the DODO if that's the best technology you can muster in this day and age. SHEEESSSHHH! WHAT CRAP!

  • What a tune!

  • Actually the genius Quincy Jones called Stevens to do Dirty Diana for Jackson (just like VanHalen on Beat it), and I think Stevens should work with George Lynch or Greg Howe on his shred technique.

Andy Taylor of Duran Duran calls Stevens one of the top five guitarist in the world!

  • He's brilliant!

  • 1 dumbass fucker missed the like button:)

  • @dangit124

    hahahaha

  • billy idols guitarist and hes awsome

  • I hope he's plannin to continue with his solo career, I'm so pissed when I finish listening to this album, and all I can do is start over again. Memory Crash amazes me everytime!

  • I hate when people say he's under rated cause he's not under rated. He won a friggin Grammy! You are all just behind on shit!

  • Great player.

  • look look the best man

  • i just love his misic...this is some kind of state of mind and soul...it mesmerizes me all the time...

  • mi potete dire il titolo della canzone che prenso da emule??

  • At this level of guitar playing, you can't compare the styles of guitarists and say with any real truth which is better. You may prefer the sound of one guitarist to another, but better? You would have to be better than both of them in order to honestly judge their skills. Rhoads(r.i.p.), Malmsteen, Lynch, Stevens, LaRocque, to name a few, are all incredible to listen to. I've played for 24 years, but I'm not good enough to say who is better.

  • My god, his tone is jaw dropping. Very underrated indeed.

  • Well i know why Michael jackson choosed him. Just listen to the man! He is fantastic!

  • @KonChul for what?

  • @1locojoko1 For "Dirty Diana".

  • I love this man...the sound !and just listen to him talk on one of his interviews. He is so intellegent and he is not cocky about it either....I enjoy listening to things like this...he really has flown under the radar....he belongs aknowledged for his work

  • I have always Liked Steve .Because he's Like a Loner Guitarist!!!!!! Soundtrack Wizard and Great Studio Musician Also!!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the greatest and most underrated guitar players

  • I Absolutely Agree 1000% @ BONGUSTHEDOG

  • @BONGUSTHEDOG ...A-men brother.Very few guitarist can combine "classical, flaminco and rock" into one theme as Steve's..."Water on Ares". It simply DOESN'Tget any better than this! I love the stereo "panning" back and forth at 2:48. I would love to see him be a "guest guitarist" with"Trans-Siberian Orchrestra". Just simply "delicious"!...

  • @jagdwerksdraago He also deserves to play with G3

  • @BONGUSTHEDOG the underrated guitar players are the greatest....

  • He never got the recognition he deserved IMO. Steve is a killer.

  • @MoCatt

Steve is my favorite player of all time. but I'm not entirely sure what you mean got the recognition,...I mean he always deserves even more praise I say,...however,... if you talk to any guitar player out there,.. and mention his name,.. they will tell you of his amazing skill, simply beautiful composition, and flashy style. Everyone knows Billy Idol songs,... you think the guitar player in there wasn't like the wuasabe on the sushi, or the gravy on the turkey or something?....lol

  • @guitargup Meaning that he didn't get the kind of recognition that more mainstream players got. Guitar players know who Steve is, but the average person that listens to Billy Idol is not going to know who he is regardless of the fact that he is really the backbone of that band and responsible for making those songs shine.

  • @MoCatt :) out of fairness,... if the way to the light was shown to those who walk in darkness,... then just anyone would be able to see it. those who search for the source of the light will find their way to him. It's a gift to even be able to know his existence to me,.. he is my directional Angel,. and my Master, I found him because I ran down the Top Gun creators... and stumbled across his Majesty. :) so I agree,... mainstream doesn't know like they should,.. but they shouldn't. :)

  • @guitargup I hear ya, the true lovers of the instrument know who he is, and I agree. I would still like to have heard ( back in those days ) your average person say "the guitarist in Billy Idol's band - Steve Stevens - is just amazing" and appreciate what he did. Of course his work since then has been fantastic anyway, so either way, I'm glad he's around.

  • @MoCatt hey MoCatt,..... I got IT!!. you and I are gonna steal the delorean,.. and go back to 1985,.. driving around with a bullhorn saying "if you wanna feel good,... give Billy Idol a listen,....." then we can get Huey Lewis to promote Steve as well,..and then we will go back to 1971 and give Forrest Gump a Billy Idol tape.. :) how bout it MoCatt?? Lastly we have to track down the Top Gun producers because they shure could use someone like him for the score... what a great idea! ;)

  • @guitargup lol Hey whatever you say man! :)

  • @MoCatt well,.. since Forrest Gump was at the source of a whole mess of idealistic events that changed humankind....maybe giving him a Billy Idol album would work magic for past promotional future recognition....anything to help dear Steve,... not that he needs it or wants it but I know we would love to MoCatt and that's what makes us grand :) Peace be with you!

  • @MoCatt finding light at the end of the tunnel is where the fun really is. he is SPECIAL,.. and Special people should be hard to find,... because they are SPECIAL, and do SPECIAL things SPECIALLy for SPECIAL people. he is to dynamic, angellic, and far too Universal, softspoken, and flashy, to be compared to the likes of "MAINSTREAM" players like Slash, and Kirk, Cantrel, Morello, Page, Yuenger, Laiho, and such... because he is NOT MAINSTREAM. he is a VIRTUOSO :) Unique and Universal

  • @guitargup that's like saying more mainstream people should know him,... yes go out and buy the records,..lol but seriously,... do you know what the aliens are up to in their labs on their home planets? no,.. of course not,... does that mean the greatness going on there isn't happening? if it means enough to someone,.. they will look deeper,... and that's just what faith is,.. following a feeling even if you aren't seeing anything yet. :)

  • @MoCatt Yes I totally agree 100%!! Him and Alex Lifeson to me are the 2 most underrated guitarists.

  • @MoCatt Steve got the recognition and made a great career since then! I remember when I saw Top Gun in the theaters with all my best friends. That guitar solo rang so loud! I become aware of Steve over the next few years, but I remember that awesome guitar solo he played in BIlly Idol's "To be a Lover". That one really screams. Then add insult to injury w "Eyes Without a Face" and "Rock the Cradle of Love". He is a refined individual to those who appreciate talent, blood, sweat and hard work.

  • @MoCatt You are Damn Right!!!!! My Fav. has always Been George Lynch, But Steve is Awesome and To be honest they are Bad asses,I'll tell you who is very Quite and Never Seeked out alot of Attention But is a Great Solo and Song Composer, and that's Mick Mars.. If you think back to all the Songs Motley Crue has Done.So many Songe he Wrote Kicked Ass,and His Name isn't up there like it should be,So to speak..

  • @MoCatt

    Neither has Vicktor Smolski.

  • @Easleytee Amen to that! Victor is a beast - especially when it comes to riffing - I remember how I was blown away when I had seen his work for the first time. \m/

  • Magnifico excelente

  • What does it matter if he isn't shouted out as some guitarists? He is great guitarist, and he is kicking ass. Thats all it counts :-)

  • sure, but he deserves more recognition for his ass-kicking. He's better than most guitarists.

  • Absolutely @thegreekmatt, IMO I think he Smokes Paul Gilbert as Far as Style and Feel!!!!!!!! I Can't Stand Paul Gilbert I don't know Why Poeple Flatter him So much,To Me George Lynch Smokes them ALL!!!!!!!!!!! He's a GOD to Me on GUITAR!!!!!!!!!ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • @chadmbedwell

Listen to Chad...he is 100% correct about LYNCH.

Looking forward to another Lynch Mob tour.

  • @MrNemusator well said,..if you like him,..then you are fortunate like me, to have called to the Lord long enough from your heart to see an Angel,.. blessed are those who got to listen

  • Awesome guitarist, he is a tone master. This guy is way up there with the best in the world. Such beautiful playing on this track. Goes to show that you don't have to be a shredder in order to be great.

  • Steve Stevens...one word: Awsomeness. It is quite amazing how he is so unheard of.

  • talent is often overlooked by the masses for those who are pretty

  • Isn't it so strange how guitarists like Stevens are so under rated and unheard of... i just got Vince Neils solo album "Exposed" and his guitar work on that album is absolutely INCREDIBLE, but i still think... y'know... Steve Stevens and Jennifer Batten, both amazing guitarists, you'd think playing behind Michael Jackson would give them quite a popularity boost wouldn't ya.

  • I wanted to say something BIG about Steve Stevens, but fuck it, I can't say anything that could explain his greatness.

He's my guitar hero! My favorite! \m/

  • Steve Stevens' version of Action is the best. I don't think I've heard any song by him that I didn't like. He's amazing.

  • OMG I just love and adore HIM...He is the MASTHER of the sound...HE is number one on my playlist...Thank you for uploading...

  • awesome guitar player... beaufitul song...

  • amazing. how can somebody do something like that? it's a gift.

  • this guy can play so many stlyes, he really is under-rated. i seen him play over the hills and far away, and it was amazing. and he sounds like satriani when he does the top gun theme, this guy is so talented.

  • Beautiful...feel this to the bone.

  • awesome yet beautiful

  • Un gran guitarrista de los mejores del mundo!

  • he should be so much more knowen then he is

  • If you like Steve so much get Jerusalem Slim, hes on it and Michael Monroe to.

  • absolutely amazing most underrated guitarist STEVE STEVENS !!! !!! !!!

  • Great song!

Post Prime Mover if you get the chance!

  • one word...LUSH....this guy is so well rouned its scary....Great CD!

  • hey I wonder who had this look first, steve or nikki, ? anyone know

  • Chriss Angel steal Seve's Image and look.. LOL

    5/5 to Steve !!

  • agree !!!!

  • Very nice.

  • there is no video? steve is highly under rated

  • just lovely(= love it

  • I just love Steve's playing! He has it all....touch, tone feel and above all melody!

  • yeah its like a combination of Brian May and Steve Vai.

  • I would say it's pure Steve Stevens, no mix of nobody else's. Listen to Bozzio, Stevens & Levin first cd, he is jumping out of his skin there - he can't be copied, just like Vai can't be.

  • Yes i agree, i just meant this song.
