I'd never really thought about our shared kinship until 9/11. I can assure you that in the U.K. we were all felt like 'Americans' during those sad days.

I was running a small, village shop at the time, but everyone on the town square stopped and observed the 3 minutes silence, along with our brothers and sisters in the U.S. We were all with you then - and we still are, today.
