That mindset is just f'd up for me, they applaud their god killing people to make a point, while, if he would just show himself, you'd have nearly every "faithfull" converting, with just a % of atheists still opting out, needing to kill not a single soul.
As for the % of atheists part, If a god reveals himself, I'll tolerate him to the point he leaves everyone to live their lives, the sec he tries to push or punish, I'll take up arms against him/her. And I think I'm not alone feeling that way.

They are generally much more interested in "selling" the story then in whether or not its actually true. In democracies this can become an real thread to the public as clearly shown by the direction the US has taken over the last 50 years but similar trends have begun to manifest themselves in Europe as well and I fear for the consequences.
