@MrGibstrat rap may seem a lot less complex than the doors or other bands, because it's less about the music and mainly about the lyrics, the flow, and the wordplay...and not every beat is sampled.
this movie should have been directed by individuals that were similar philosophically to jim in explaining the burden of having to interface with the mainstream that could not respect nor understand his poetry, his integrity, his very being that drove him to drink
jim shouldered the doors; and mainstream could never possibly understand his philosophical differences of opinion & it was a shame that jim even had to try

yeah im part of the generation he talks about here, i wasnt born when jim died and i knew about the door when i was 19 years old and since then i guess i am the number 2 fan of them....from dominican republic...
@BigRockMusicFan your the cooolest 14 year old!! That's awsome!! Koodos to you for not listening to the Jon-Ass Bros. and actualy expanding your mind to intelectual music. Thanks to the Doors for shareing Jim with us "New" fans that weren't born in the 60s.
Krieger looks horrible but has been for a awhile,Manzerek looks good for being freakin 70 years old thats awesome im glad they're still doin it,I just finished reading the book "riders on the storm",Great book i love John Densmore,The oliver stone movie is ridiculous
Jim is rock mythology, and a good documentary is the right medium for this band. Legendary as they were, one must remember that they packed alot of great music and crazy life- especially jim -into less than a decade! The books will have inconsistincies and personal shit. i've read and re-read both "no one here..." and "Riders" and on their own merits they are informative and entertaining. Stone"s film and V.Kilmers characaturesque portrayal were part of the limitations of the form
theres definately new generations of doors fans! im 15, and the doors are my favorite band! they keep me from listening to the piece of shit new music! im going to meet Ray, Robby, and John some day! and ill meet Jim when I get to the other side. and read NO ONE HERE GETS OUT ALIVE! AND SAY FUCK YOU TO OLIVER STONE!
yeah high five to you to man, i even want to start a tribute band! alot of people say i look and sound alot like jim, but theres too many haters out there who would just cuss and shit at me me! i think val kilmer is part of the reason, he did horrible acting like jim!
Right on for reading, No One Here! however the Oliver Stone film was never meant to be a historical documentary of Jim Morrison and the Doors, more so a caricaturization; or rather play on the mythical IDEA of the Doors, the LEGEND of Morrison opposed to solid truth. Oliver Stone's films are always like that lol.
But you could say the same for No One Here, a lot of the information isn't acurate and greatly exaggerated; much like Oliver Stone's film. Read Riders On the Storm by Densmore.
Oliver Stone my have created of load of hogwash in terms of truthful fact. But he definitely delivered a new audience and a truckload of keen fans to the doorsteps of desperate Doors shareholders. Will we see the impact both in fan base increase, and box office earnings from When You're Strange? Not if the TRUTH has anything to do with it. Keep your anecdotal truths and precious Doors facts; I'm going on the ride.
I don't appreciate that "Hollywood" made him out to be some kind of hero. Val Kilmer completely over-acted. I think he was a good man with some serious flaws. If you're really interested in the man, check out some of Ray Manzarek's interviews. He's a great storyteller, and he seems to be somewhat grounded in reality.
read the books. Riders On The Storm, Light My Fire, and No One Here Gets Out Alive. forget the Stone flick, i keep telling people that and they dont seem to get it
I'm sorry guys but what I think we should be interested on is on his music... I don't care if we was self-destructive, I just know that he was a genious and I love The Doors music
Fuck me? For pointing out the sad truth that Mr. Morrison, as talented as he was, was self-destructive and abusive to his bandmates, Pamela, and the other women in his life? Sorry if the truth hurts.
I dont believe that pam killed jim:( Your wrong Korky94!!!!! Pam loved jim and jim loved pam:( I think your theory is Insane:( Excessive alcohol consumption and drug use killed him!!!!! the theory i believe is that jim was sick and should have been in hospital but he wasn't.... so he was drinking with an old mate of his and later met up with pam.... later that night they snorted heroin and thats what killed him!!!! Now His friend and pam should have talked him into going to the hospital
Anyone interested in finding out what really happened to Jim Morrison should go to erichufschmid(dot)net and enter, "The Strange Death of Jim Morrison."
Pallindrom27 says I am an insane anti-semite.But there is nothing wrong with holding Jews accountable for their actions. The entire Zionist crime network is coming down and criminal Jews like Pallindrom27 don't know what to do with themselves anymore. He can be found on any youtube board about Jim Morrison's death. It is possible that some of the Zionist Jews told him what happened to Jim Morrison so he knows how to lie to people and send them in the wrong direction when investigating his
Time and dementia has mellowed the remaining Doors to such an extent, they only reminisce the Morrison era with nostalgic romanticism and times forgotten rhetoric. Check out previous documentary interviews by the remaining Doors pre Oliver Stone and you will find during the anecdotal individual interviews, they did nothing but bitch about Morrisons antics and behaviour. Great musicians but contradicting tossers.
Although starfiref94c (who also goes by Stephen90040/Paddledome as well as Sockpuppet2012) is an insane Anti-Semite who drools out his racist lunacy like he's paid to(Probably IS since he spams for that sucky website everywhere) and blames "Jews" as he calls them for literally ALL bad things including destructive natural weather like tsunamis, the ONLY place that I ever see him is on Jim Morrison pages. And what makes that as crazy as he is is the fact that he's not even sure that he's dead.
For more information about the murder of Jim Morrison go to erichufschmid(dot)net. Enter, The Strange Death of Jim Morrison. You also have to consider that Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robbie Krieger have been threatened not to talk about what they know regarding Morrison's death by the people who killed him. The Jews own and control the record and entertainment industry but they have never been fully investigated in his death. They just killed Michael Jackson and now they can't get out of it.
@glennfryenpie GLENN, you beat me to the punch. I was just thinking that Ray could've been a radio announcer. In fact, I think -- if he hasn't already -- he should do the narration for any future Doors documentaries.....Although it was pretty cool having Johnny Depp do the voice over for the PBS Doors documentary.
Sometimes I feel the remaining Doors tend to live and thrive off the carcass of what was one James Douglas Morrison, and exist off the remnants of an era of turmoil, which occurred more than forty years ago. They have romanticized Jim Morrison to such mythical and multi-dimensional proportions; it is difficult to recognize that he was just a singer/songwriter. Dont embarrass and belittle yourselves by continually flogging this dead horse for your own selfish agendas.
thats weird you think that because from all ive learned, it seems to them jim was souly a friend and it went deeper then that because of the essence jim held, which affected most of who he was close with, but i dont think its necessarily jim that they thrive for 40 plus years later, in fact, jim usually pissed him off majority of the time. and also, he wasnt a song writer, he was a poet.
Well, this is a really stupid statement. The Doors consisted of 4 incredibly talented young men...not just Jim Morrison. The remaining 3 members contributed just as much to the sound of the Doors as Morrison himself. If they want to continue on paying tribute to their own band...they have every right to. By the way, Morrison would be insulted to be known as just a "singer/ songwriter. He was foremost a poet. Kreiger was a songwriter.
Honestly, 98% of the Doors doco created by Tom Dicillo could have been downloaded from Doors archival video footage off YouTube and edited by an amateur undergraduate filmmaker. The film implies Doors 101 for dummies, and is creatively incompetent.
That is exactly my point. Robbie Krieger is in fact a Jew, so the Zionists may have approached him first and then the other two band members and said, "we know someone in Paris that is very good at helping people get off of alcohol, but he's a little rough, I don't know if you want to hire him or not." All three of them may have thought it over and agreed to pay this man some money only to find out
Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain...those few iconic images aside, the list really does go on and on. Of course he was murdered. Perhaps for the obvious, as well as for something more obscure that we may never know. When will we wake up?
and the guy you hired and Morrison was killed. You all are an accessory to a
murder so it's best if you keep quiet about this. We won't say anything, either." In this
way the criminal Jews could have set up the three Doors and they could have threatened to kill them if they reveal anything about Jim Morrison's death.
We also have to ask what was the motive
for the Zionists for doing this and many other musicians as well?
Densmore have been threatened with their lives not to talk about what they know concerning Jim Morrison's death. The Jews control and own the record and entertainment industry but they have never been questioned in Morrison's death. Why is that? Who murdered Jim
"Jim Morrison is not portrayed by Oliver Stone, Jim Morrison is portrayed by... Jim Morrison." : ) Man I LOVE the Doors! People say how they Doors changed their lives... the Doors brought out of me what I held within me innately when I fell to earth 26 years ago. When I found the Doors it was a massive leap in discovering who I really was. And I can't believe how much great things I have heard from these guys in my lifeltime. And I got to see them live when I never thought I would. LOVE you guys
I feel The Doors made a huge mistake allowing this guy to direct a movie with this type of intimate and historic film footage. The result of When Youre Strange has come off as little more than a DVD supplement; Oliver Stones version of Jim Morrisons life may have had its flaws, but it was by far, better researched and more creatively directed by Stone.

Stone"s film and V.Kilmers characaturesque portrayal were part of the limitations of the form

lindensteinc 2 years ago
Right on for reading, No One Here! however the Oliver Stone film was never meant to be a historical documentary of Jim Morrison and the Doors, more so a caricaturization; or rather play on the mythical IDEA of the Doors, the LEGEND of Morrison opposed to solid truth. Oliver Stone's films are always like that lol.
But you could say the same for No One Here, a lot of the information isn't acurate and greatly exaggerated; much like Oliver Stone's film. Read Riders On the Storm by Densmore.

i mean the other movie was good. just wish it was true
RogerRabbit94 2 years ago
Oliver Stone my have created of load of hogwash in terms of truthful fact. But he definitely delivered a new audience and a truckload of keen fans to the doorsteps of desperate Doors shareholders. Will we see the impact both in fan base increase, and box office earnings from When You're Strange? Not if the TRUTH has anything to do with it. Keep your anecdotal truths and precious Doors facts; I'm going on the ride.
Rusty0555 2 years ago 2
I don't appreciate that "Hollywood" made him out to be some kind of hero. Val Kilmer completely over-acted. I think he was a good man with some serious flaws. If you're really interested in the man, check out some of Ray Manzarek's interviews. He's a great storyteller, and he seems to be somewhat grounded in reality.

korky94 2 years ago

It is possible that some of the Zionist Jews told him what happened to Jim Morrison so he knows how to lie to people and send them in the wrong direction when investigating his
death.
starfiref94c 2 years ago

Pallindrom27 2 years ago 2

JohnnyTRex99 1 year ago
Sometimes I feel the remaining Doors tend to live and thrive off the carcass of what was one James Douglas Morrison, and exist off the remnants of an era of turmoil, which occurred more than forty years ago. They have romanticized Jim Morrison to such mythical and multi-dimensional proportions; it is difficult to recognize that he was just a singer/songwriter. Dont embarrass and belittle yourselves by continually flogging this dead horse for your own selfish agendas.
Rusty0555 2 years ago
thats weird you think that because from all ive learned, it seems to them jim was souly a friend and it went deeper then that because of the essence jim held, which affected most of who he was close with, but i dont think its necessarily jim that they thrive for 40 plus years later, in fact, jim usually pissed him off majority of the time. and also, he wasnt a song writer, he was a poet.
korbrit 2 years ago 2
Well, this is a really stupid statement. The Doors consisted of 4 incredibly talented young men...not just Jim Morrison. The remaining 3 members contributed just as much to the sound of the Doors as Morrison himself. If they want to continue on paying tribute to their own band...they have every right to. By the way, Morrison would be insulted to be known as just a "singer/ songwriter. He was foremost a poet. Kreiger was a songwriter.
ajjmacnab 2 years ago 4
Honestly, 98% of the Doors doco created by Tom Dicillo could have been downloaded from Doors archival video footage off YouTube and edited by an amateur undergraduate filmmaker. The film implies Doors 101 for dummies, and is creatively incompetent.
Rusty0555 2 years ago
when is it coming out????
windycityrebel 2 years ago
That is exactly my point. Robbie Krieger is in fact a Jew, so the Zionists may have approached him first and then the other two band members and said, "we know someone in Paris that is very good at helping people get off of alcohol, but he's a little rough, I don't know if you want to hire him or not." All three of them may have thought it over and agreed to pay this man some money only to find out
out several weeks later that Morrison was
dead. The man may have said to them,
(1)
starfiref94c 2 years ago
Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain...those few iconic images aside, the list really does go on and on. Of course he was murdered. Perhaps for the obvious, as well as for something more obscure that we may never know. When will we wake up?
whatsyournameuser 2 years ago
As far as Morrison being murdered, who knows, but I doubt it. There is no way to find out, so that's that. Same goes for the rest of the 27 Club.
mussman717word 2 years ago 2
(2) "well, there was a fight between Jim
and the guy you hired and Morrison was killed. You all are an accessory to a
murder so it's best if you keep quiet about this. We won't say anything, either." In this
way the criminal Jews could have set up the three Doors and they could have threatened to kill them if they reveal anything about Jim Morrison's death.
We also have to ask what was the motive
for the Zionists for doing this and many other musicians as well?
starfiref94c 2 years ago
We have to ask ourselves if the the three
remaining members of the band, Ray
Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John
Densmore have been threatened with their lives not to talk about what they know concerning Jim Morrison's death. The Jews control and own the record and entertainment industry but they have never been questioned in Morrison's death. Why is that? Who murdered Jim
Morrison and what was their motive?
Go to erichufschmid(dot)net and enter,
The Strange Death of Jim Morrison.

When I found the Doors it was a massive leap in discovering who I really was. And I can't believe how much great things I have heard from these guys in my lifeltime. And I got to see them live when I never thought I would. LOVE you guys

Ray is just a lovely guy. I know I am projecting, but he is just a warm, paternal figure. He must have been a soothing presence for Jim.
bertinotti 2 years ago
I feel The Doors made a huge mistake allowing this guy to direct a movie with this type of intimate and historic film footage. The result of When Youre Strange has come off as little more than a DVD supplement; Oliver Stones version of Jim Morrisons life may have had its flaws, but it was by far, better researched and more creatively directed by Stone.
