  • The Doors was my first concert. 9th grade. 1969. Seattle Washington. Great show.

  • i would like to consider myself a "New Generation Doors fan"... i grew up listening to them on vinyl when i was drinking out of a baby bottle, b4 i even knew what music was...but now as i grow older, i appreciate music more and more..and The Doors will always be a staple - Jim Morrison was a true poet...and i know for as long as i live, i will always remember him

  • I wonder if I'm the only person that thinks that ray has a voice for like a sports arena or Something ? The Doors really did change my life I remember my uncle showed me it for the first time and I was amazed...

  • I don't get why people are calling Ray an ass. He seems like a nice dude, what am I missing?!

As for "When You're Strange", I watched it a few weeks ago and it was amazing! Then I watched 'The Doors' movie and didn't like that at all. Val did a great job, but I don't believe Jim was horrible like the movie portrayed.

  • @sunrise242 He always seemed cool to me also? I've watched tons of stuff over the last 30 years and he seems like the true spokesman to me?!

  • manczerek is a fucking idiot

  • @SullenMorbius You dont know great music players!

  • Man i think Robbie is just way to Cool im serious that guys is AlwaYS chilling laid back guy. I just wish i could meet him and when i see him smile NO HOMO i smile 2:06 to cause i can just imagine all the crazy shit he and JIm did back THEN.

  • THE DOORS ARE IMMORTAL

  • 11minutes LOL duh

  • Notice how Robbie didn't mmention John Densmore's book 'Riders on the storm?' Wonder if he didn't like it for some reason?

  • you should ask yourself whether you changed someone's life..into good

  • Comment removed

  • Robbie, you did change my life. Like if you feel the same

  • i wanna see this documentary! please tell me it's available on dvd or something..

  • Robby still has that hair :)

  • I was at the Clemency Board meeting on Thursday. Please watch the 3 part video I have put together on the way the Pardon happened.

    Thankyou.

  • that guy is actually giving them all blow jobs!!! lol ass kisser!

  • Jim died from stress and worry of been raped in jail, as his trial was still standing over his head, always on his mind, hidden by king ALCOHOL...

and all this myth of his death, John Densmore saying the grave was too small for Morrison..

    these myths might be true.

  • Jim died from stress and worry of been raped in jail, as his trial was still standing over his head, always on his mind, hidden by king ALCOHOL...

and all this myth of his death, John Densmore saying the grave was too small for Morrison..

    these myths might be true.

its simple, did up the grave, d.n.a samples if theres bones, case closed.. let him rest after that.

  • shit! look what all the acid did to krieger!

  • Robby Krieger ¿FREDDY KRUGER?

  • i agree miley cyrus is a joke, and so is lady garbage, and all rap and hip hop.

    rap is short for crap.

isnt it obvious that the reason rappers and hip hoppers sample other bands music is because they cant write anything decent , its all garbage.

  • @MrGibstrat rap may seem a lot less complex than the doors or other bands, because it's less about the music and mainly about the lyrics, the flow, and the wordplay...and not every beat is sampled.

  • these two are great musicians, but they should let john speak for the doors. he was like jim's little brother.

  • the DOORS man! yeah

  • this jim mockumentary broke my heart

this movie should have been directed by individuals that were similar philosophically to jim in explaining the burden of having to interface with the mainstream that could not respect nor understand his poetry, his integrity, his very being that drove him to drink

jim shouldered the doors; and mainstream could never possibly understand his philosophical differences of opinion & it was a shame that jim even had to try

  • Amazing Film!

  • HI! THIS IS MONTGOMERY SHRAPP! HAVE A LOOK ON OUR SONG "JIM" (DEDICATED TO JIM MORRISON&THE DOORS)!

  • I disagree with robby about the doors music not feeling old, sure, it's still relavent today, but it has many quality's you wouldn't find in any other time period, or for that matter from any other band.

  • @Mileycyrustruelove

Why did you even...I mean REALLY? Did you know every band nowadays takes their style from a former great artist? And don't argue lady gaga...ever heard of Madonna?

Just...just let us have our music and you can have yours.

    Have a nice day.

  • robbie krieger esta hecho una tortuga

  • Comment removed

  • @jagarf finally, the voice of reason.

  • damn robbie looks young as fuck

  • Ray's a great musician and I love the doors but he's a little bit of an asshole

  • People that come here to bash the Doors, and claim that Hannah Montana, and Justin Beibler are better than bands in the 60's need some help. You are blind to what real good music is. Open your ears!

  • The Oliver Stone movie was never ment to be a documentary, don't aprecciate Ray disrespecting it.It was a great movie, allthough not biographical Kilmer was incredible, should have gotten an Oscar.

  • @edstone1

But people take it as a documentary. Did they say when it came out, "Oh sorry this isn't the true story", No they didn't. Say someone brings a movie out and the title has your name. In the movie that is not suppose to be you, You do a lot of things you never did. How would you feel? And don't say who cares. lol

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove You've got to be fucking kidding me. I pity anyone who doesn't know what real music is & what it's really about & clealry that discribes you. Everyone has their personal prefence on music .. but to say music from the 60's is shit compared to lady gaga? pussy cat dolls? the jonas brothers? oh man you really need to wake the fuck up. Music from that era had heart & soulful depth. What's around now-a-days are just catchy little tunes made for only one purpose . . to sell.

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove OMFG you really know nothing about anything, you have the musical knowledge of a baboon. I feel so sorry for you! growning up in such mediocre times has made your brain 'very' mediocre. The hahaha greats you mention, btw who? LMFAO have absolutely zero talent, none of them are even close to being rock n roll nor can they even be mentioned in the same breath. Thats by far the weirdest thing that ive read on you tube. It honestly makes me fear for the future of mankind!!!!

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove Are really old enough to have been able to smell them? Your ignorance of facts is pretty incredible so I'm hoping your just kidding about the whole "geniuses like Lady GAGA." And the Doors weren't even a hippie group anyways that makes no sense you idiot. Just go keep telling yourself that miley has the most beuatiful voice and that Gaga is a brilliant performer and how well the jonas brothers autotune their voice

  • @noobpowner901 Wow, are you ever messed up in the head.

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove I dont think I'm the messed up one, little girl.

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove Go back to the playground little kid and leave the REAL music to the adults. "Lady" Gaga, the Jonas brothers...geniuses? Wow, you've got alot to learn.

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove hey we should call you the little hoe snob fuck off i am 14 and i hate the hell out of the modern music i am basically stuck in this hell hole along with you fuck tards the classics is where the real shit was modern music isnt music just hit they call music the doors is what made it happend now go run off and play in the sand box or what ever you little fucking girls do

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove If i could i would probobly have killed you, you're fucking retarded.. There is no modern music that you could even compare with the doors so just shut the fuck up, Miley cyrus shouldn't even be called an artist, she is a joke.

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove

How did you type that and not felt completely embarrassed? Lady Gaga and the Jonas Brothers? Like they say, there's one born every day.

  • @MileyCyrusTrueLove You can't possibly be serious; you just can't. And if you are... then by god I pity you.

  • will this be coming out to all theaters or certain ones and if its only certain ones could i possibly buy it?

  • i am the biggest doors fan you guys are so lucky to have met them

  • @RipcordStudios i met them in ny at the nokia theater

  • @DJJindo1 ur so luky

  • Ray Manzarek has such a great voice.

    It's Stan Lee-esque, only cooler.

  • I think they should all stop squeezing this lemon and simply enjoy the royalties .................

i love the doors but its nice to know there might be some pics out there all of us fans have not seen.

  • Ray legit hates The Doors movie, the one directed by Stone. And I honestly don't blame him all that much. He and Krieger and Densmore know whats up, and they should be heard.

  • che tristezza vederli così vecchi :(

  • ray, john and robbie's musical contributions post jim were not lizard king quality

  • robbie says, "they hear the records" ...lol @ records...before you time, children

  • A Doors Rock band game would be hot!

  • @Thechamp180 lol It be better than Beatles Rock Band

  • @Thechamp180 no it fucking wouldnt... that would be fuckin bullshit... seriously. havent you even noticed any bands that hav a guitar hero/rock band are overrated. and if they did this with the doors thin it would kill the pasion and the music and let a bunch of fuckin wannabe musicians think they know all about the doors just cause they hav the game.....

  • Manzarek is really stupid ... he is a corrupt -.-

  • @foxarchitect88 ,funny you should say that, I got to meet him after a show not to long ago and when i walked up to him to say great show, love your music, thanks,He looked at me and said "what?are you one of robbie's golf buddie's?"in a very condisending way.And i had met him before too.And he was way cooler that time.I think he probably is a nice guy,but he acted like a bit of a punk that night,But I love the Doors no matter what, and robbie is a very very nice guy,I know him personaly. peace.

  • My first time ever viewing a Doors album was in early 1981 when my dad (after my parents had divorced) had 1980's "Greatest Hits" and "L.A. Woman." I remember my mom and I being over at his rented house and my mom put on "L.A. Woman" and told me how she screamed over Jim Morrison. I was only four at the time. At about age 10 I bought "Greatest Hits" on cassette and so began my love of The Doors. One of THE greatest rock bands to have ever walked the face of this earth!

  • Ray looks even better as an old man! Love you guys! XOXO

  • And he walked on domn the hall, yeah!

  • Narrated by Johnny Depp, American Masters: When Youre Strange is the first feature documentary about The Doors, premiering nationally Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 9 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings)

  • @champsinger HELL YEAH

  • Ray has a prison record 0.o

  • @polerbear1000

not too surprising, axl rose was arrested about 20 times fore he became famous

  • yeah im part of the generation he talks about here, i wasnt born when jim died and i knew about the door when i was 19 years old and since then i guess i am the number 2 fan of them....from dominican republic...

  • is everybody in? is everybody in? is everybody in, the story is about to begin..

  • yeah,i wouldn t be me if it wasn t for you.memorable.

  • keep rock n in rolling were all get to hear them in heavan. the doors live in heavan all 4 together

  • I wish Ray was my grandpa

  • @209116032 me too hed teach me so much

  • @209116032 Ray Is Just as old as my grandpa, 1939 It Would be cool

  • @209116032 ray is my grandpa

  • @BigRockMusicFan Nice!!! (im 13) and love that classics, hate rap, cant wait to see this MOVIE@!@#!@#

  • @champsinger you know.. you can like several genres of music without being a chump.

  • READ LIGHT MY FIRE BY RAY MANZERAC

  • Ray has such a great voice. He should be in radio or something.

  • I'm glad to see Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger still doing well.

  • @ThyCakeConsumed doing well or looking like extras from night of the living dead?

  • Hey , Does anyone know of a torrent for this film?

    Cheers

  • GO AND WATCH IT!!!

  • Where are we supposed to watch it? There isn't a theater with it playing within 500 miles of my house.

  • @NotQuiteAKnave

hopefully it will come out on dvd soon! because there all in the major cities and i live in a small town.

  • MUST WATCH!!!

  • Listen to 0:40 to 0:50 you stupid oliver stone fans.. that movie sucks!!

  • @ilovetheramones

the movie didn't completely suck, i think the first have was amazing( before they were famous)

  • @ilovetheramones THAT MOVIE IS FUCKN RAW the story socks thats not jim at all but the movie it self is cool

  • @ilovetheramones totaly, it fucking sucks, so does oliver stone and val kilmer.

  • @ilovetheramones completely agree. half the parts in tht movie didnt happen

  • @ilovetheramones

Oliver Stone always screws up EVERY documentary he does. He's an idiot.

  • @ilovetheramones Yeah. And stupid "XXI century doors" fans take heed also.

  • @ilovetheramones I thought it was okay, but nothing like what really happened. It was just a stupid movie.

  • Krieger looks horrible but has been for a awhile,Manzerek looks good for being freakin 70 years old thats awesome im glad they're still doin it,I just finished reading the book "riders on the storm",Great book i love John Densmore,The oliver stone movie is ridiculous

  • @ilovetheramones

I read that Robbie had skin cancer. Now he has recovered.

  • Jim is rock mythology, and a good documentary is the right medium for this band. Legendary as they were, one must remember that they packed alot of great music and crazy life- especially jim -into less than a decade! The books will have inconsistincies and personal shit. i've read and re-read both "no one here..." and "Riders" and on their own merits they are informative and entertaining. Stone"s film and V.Kilmers characaturesque portrayal were part of the limitations of the form

  • Val Kilmer did at least looked like Jim.

  • i wouldn't be me if it wasn't for you.

  • ahhhhh ya lo kiero ver!°!!!!

  • where can i find this movie?

  • who knows when this film is available?

    blu ray or dvd

    i can't find it ...

  • dude im 11 and the doors are my favorite band

  • @musicislifeforever23 HIGH FIVE DUDE!

  • theres definately new generations of doors fans! im 15, and the doors are my favorite band! they keep me from listening to the piece of shit new music! im going to meet Ray, Robby, and John some day! and ill meet Jim when I get to the other side. and read NO ONE HERE GETS OUT ALIVE! AND SAY FUCK YOU TO OLIVER STONE!

  • @lindensteinc HIGH FIVE! Im 20 and a fan

  • yeah high five to you to man, i even want to start a tribute band! alot of people say i look and sound alot like jim, but theres too many haters out there who would just cuss and shit at me me! i think val kilmer is part of the reason, he did horrible acting like jim!

  • Right on for reading, No One Here! however the Oliver Stone film was never meant to be a historical documentary of Jim Morrison and the Doors, more so a caricaturization; or rather play on the mythical IDEA of the Doors, the LEGEND of Morrison opposed to solid truth. Oliver Stone's films are always like that lol.

But you could say the same for No One Here, a lot of the information isn't acurate and greatly exaggerated; much like Oliver Stone's film. Read Riders On the Storm by Densmore.

  • i mean the other movie was good. just wish it was true

  • Oliver Stone my have created of load of hogwash in terms of truthful fact. But he definitely delivered a new audience and a truckload of keen fans to the doorsteps of desperate Doors shareholders. Will we see the impact both in fan base increase, and box office earnings from When You're Strange? Not if the TRUTH has anything to do with it. Keep your anecdotal truths and precious Doors facts; I'm going on the ride.

  • I don't appreciate that "Hollywood" made him out to be some kind of hero. Val Kilmer completely over-acted. I think he was a good man with some serious flaws. If you're really interested in the man, check out some of Ray Manzarek's interviews. He's a great storyteller, and he seems to be somewhat grounded in reality.

  • read the books. Riders On The Storm, Light My Fire, and No One Here Gets Out Alive. forget the Stone flick, i keep telling people that and they dont seem to get it

  • Break on Through is good too, i am reading it now

  • I'm sorry guys but what I think we should be interested on is on his music... I don't care if we was self-destructive, I just know that he was a genious and I love The Doors music

  • what movie r they talking about ???!!!! lve never seen that movie... fuck...!

  • Indeed. As creative as Jim was, he was a junkie and it killed him.

  • Fuck You!!!

  • Fuck me? For pointing out the sad truth that Mr. Morrison, as talented as he was, was self-destructive and abusive to his bandmates, Pamela, and the other women in his life? Sorry if the truth hurts.

  • No, truth doesn't hurt. There is nothing bad in way he lived. I would live like him if i had chance.

  • alcoholic... not junkie

  • As I understand it, he died overdosing on Pamela's heroin....although I am sure the heavy drinking didn't help either.

  • well theres a few theories, some people believe hes still alive (i don't).

  • pam may have gotten him killed..

  • I dont believe that pam killed jim:( Your wrong Korky94!!!!! Pam loved jim and jim loved pam:( I think your theory is Insane:( Excessive alcohol consumption and drug use killed him!!!!! the theory i believe is that jim was sick and should have been in hospital but he wasn't.... so he was drinking with an old mate of his and later met up with pam.... later that night they snorted heroin and thats what killed him!!!! Now His friend and pam should have talked him into going to the hospital

  • Anyone interested in finding out what really happened to Jim Morrison should go to erichufschmid(dot)net and enter, "The Strange Death of Jim Morrison."

  • Pallindrom27 says I am an insane anti-semite.But there is nothing wrong with holding Jews accountable for their actions. The entire Zionist crime network is coming down and criminal Jews like Pallindrom27 don't know what to do with themselves anymore. He can be found on any youtube board about Jim Morrison's death. It is possible that some of the Zionist Jews told him what happened to Jim Morrison so he knows how to lie to people and send them in the wrong direction when investigating his

    death.

  • Time and dementia has mellowed the remaining Doors to such an extent, they only reminisce the Morrison era with nostalgic romanticism and times forgotten rhetoric. Check out previous documentary interviews by the remaining Doors pre Oliver Stone and you will find during the anecdotal individual interviews, they did nothing but bitch about Morrisons antics and behaviour. Great musicians but contradicting tossers.

  • W T F happened to robby...

  • jesus robby looks scarilly old almost like that villain outta star wars whats his name the one with the hood lol

  • Woah, it's hard to believe how old Robby Krieger has gotten to be, and he can still play the guitar like a god.

  • Manzarek's voice sounds a lot like Casey Kasem or some other DJ, it seems like he'd be apt for that position.

    (I know, 'twas random, indeed.)

  • Manzarek is such a tool.

  • There is an interesting article about

Jim Morrison's death at erichufschmid(dot)net. Enter, "The Strange Death of

Jim Morrison." While you're at it, help

educate the police and military about

world Zionism so these people can be

arrested and dealt with with by the authorities.

  • Although starfiref94c (who also goes by Stephen90040/Paddledome as well as Sockpuppet2012) is an insane Anti-Semite who drools out his racist lunacy like he's paid to(Probably IS since he spams for that sucky website everywhere) and blames "Jews" as he calls them for literally ALL bad things including destructive natural weather like tsunamis, the ONLY place that I ever see him is on Jim Morrison pages. And what makes that as crazy as he is is the fact that he's not even sure that he's dead.

  • Makes Me Wonder whos out their killing these great people everyone says its this or that bullshit i think its some kind of cult.

  • For more information about the murder of Jim Morrison go to erichufschmid(dot)net. Enter, The Strange Death of Jim Morrison. You also have to consider that Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robbie Krieger have been threatened not to talk about what they know regarding Morrison's death by the people who killed him. The Jews own and control the record and entertainment industry but they have never been fully investigated in his death. They just killed Michael Jackson and now they can't get out of it.

  • Comments like this nut only show how many crazy people there are living in America.

  • how can i see this?

  • Lat year I met Ray and Robbie and they are the coolest and nicest guys on the planet.

  • haha i agree, he does have a nice radio voice

  • Manzarek has a nice radio voice.

  • @glennfryenpie GLENN, you beat me to the punch. I was just thinking that Ray could've been a radio announcer. In fact, I think -- if he hasn't already -- he should do the narration for any future Doors documentaries.....Although it was pretty cool having Johnny Depp do the voice over for the PBS Doors documentary.

  • Sometimes I feel the remaining Doors tend to live and thrive off the carcass of what was one James Douglas Morrison, and exist off the remnants of an era of turmoil, which occurred more than forty years ago. They have romanticized Jim Morrison to such mythical and multi-dimensional proportions; it is difficult to recognize that he was just a singer/songwriter. Dont embarrass and belittle yourselves by continually flogging this dead horse for your own selfish agendas.

  • thats weird you think that because from all ive learned, it seems to them jim was souly a friend and it went deeper then that because of the essence jim held, which affected most of who he was close with, but i dont think its necessarily jim that they thrive for 40 plus years later, in fact, jim usually pissed him off majority of the time. and also, he wasnt a song writer, he was a poet.

  • Well, this is a really stupid statement. The Doors consisted of 4 incredibly talented young men...not just Jim Morrison. The remaining 3 members contributed just as much to the sound of the Doors as Morrison himself. If they want to continue on paying tribute to their own band...they have every right to. By the way, Morrison would be insulted to be known as just a "singer/ songwriter. He was foremost a poet. Kreiger was a songwriter.

  • Honestly, 98% of the Doors doco created by Tom Dicillo could have been downloaded from Doors archival video footage off YouTube and edited by an amateur undergraduate filmmaker. The film implies Doors 101 for dummies, and is creatively incompetent.

  • when is it coming out????

  • That is exactly my point. Robbie Krieger is in fact a Jew, so the Zionists may have approached him first and then the other two band members and said, "we know someone in Paris that is very good at helping people get off of alcohol, but he's a little rough, I don't know if you want to hire him or not." All three of them may have thought it over and agreed to pay this man some money only to find out

out several weeks later that Morrison was

dead. The man may have said to them,

    (1)

  • Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain...those few iconic images aside, the list really does go on and on. Of course he was murdered. Perhaps for the obvious, as well as for something more obscure that we may never know. When will we wake up?

  • As far as Morrison being murdered, who knows, but I doubt it. There is no way to find out, so that's that. Same goes for the rest of the 27 Club.

  • (2) "well, there was a fight between Jim

and the guy you hired and Morrison was killed. You all are an accessory to a

murder so it's best if you keep quiet about this. We won't say anything, either." In this

way the criminal Jews could have set up the three Doors and they could have threatened to kill them if they reveal anything about Jim Morrison's death.

We also have to ask what was the motive

for the Zionists for doing this and many other musicians as well?

  • We have to ask ourselves if the the three

remaining members of the band, Ray

    Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John

Densmore have been threatened with their lives not to talk about what they know concerning Jim Morrison's death. The Jews control and own the record and entertainment industry but they have never been questioned in Morrison's death. Why is that? Who murdered Jim

Morrison and what was their motive?

    Go to erichufschmid(dot)net and enter,

The Strange Death of Jim Morrison.

  • he dumb ass how is this the "jews" fault? you are coming off as an ignorant asshole and i hope you realize robbie krieger is jewish.

  • Wow...my friend, it is you who is sounding ignorant. Please open your eyes, just a little.

  • THE DOORS PWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Jim Morrison is not portrayed by Oliver Stone, Jim Morrison is portrayed by... Jim Morrison." : ) Man I LOVE the Doors! People say how they Doors changed their lives... the Doors brought out of me what I held within me innately when I fell to earth 26 years ago. When I found the Doors it was a massive leap in discovering who I really was. And I can't believe how much great things I have heard from these guys in my lifeltime. And I got to see them live when I never thought I would. LOVE you guys

  • Ray is just a lovely guy. I know I am projecting, but he is just a warm, paternal figure. He must have been a soothing presence for Jim.

  • I feel The Doors made a huge mistake allowing this guy to direct a movie with this type of intimate and historic film footage. The result of When Youre Strange has come off as little more than a DVD supplement; Oliver Stones version of Jim Morrisons life may have had its flaws, but it was by far, better researched and more creatively directed by Stone.

  • awesome, cant wait to watch it. On a side note, Ray has an AMAZING radio voice.
