I would agree that the car needs just a bit more power>400hp would be nice...but that figure is easily attainable nowadays (aftermarket). However, for the guy knocking the NISSAN's...I have 29yrs of experience in automotive haven been brought into the business by my father who has been at it since the 60's and we think the Nissan 6 cylinder blocks are some of the best ever! If you've had that much bad luck then I would question what you've been doing......
Its a cool car. Not comfy for long trips. +4 hrs or so. Could use a bit more power to put it over the top say 400hp. That would give it enough of a difference from the regular model. Looks awesome. Looks better in person than in pics. Bottom line....its fun to drive, lots of fun.

The 370z Nismo is a great looking car. Tuned correctly,it is a threat to cars like Porshe. But not every Porshe,or every kind of car. Nissan builds good,strong-running cars and they do it with a v6. Most of the newer Nissan models like the Maxima and GT-R are powerful indeed,but now they need to work on fuel economy. They lack hugely on that. But overall,they look great and run great.
I just test drove this at my local Nissan dealership. After test driving it the salesman went in his office to fill out paper work. I snuck out the side door and went home.

@hithur All the american cars I have had experience with are long lasting reliable automobiles. The only reliable foreign cars are Honda and Toyota. Maybe where you live there is an American automobile hater in your neighborhood, and he sabatoges every American car he comes by.

Funny, the SRT-10 ACR decimated nearly everything at the Ring, as did the ZR-1. Both cars can handle, and the Viper is basically a raw race car for the street. You need a soft touch and real skill to drive it fast. But I guess it's easy to spew hate when you don't have all the facts.

My mother drives a 2007 Lincoln Town Car, some of the letters from the badge have already fallen off (they are held on with double sided tape), the chrome plastic (ABS) trim around the bumper is coming off with the chrome paint chipping, & some interior panels have came off from below the dash. American cars are certainly improving though, especially Ford.

i went to the store the other day and saw a nismo 370z parked sideways haha so i parked my v8 S4 next to him since i knew he wouldn't scratch my car if he was going to those lengths to make sure his car didn't get scratched. not gonna lie, its the sexiest 2 door you can get hands down. if you can't afford a lambo or porsche. shit i'd even take it over the GTR but, thats just me. very VERY nice and fast car :D

I second this. The RX-8 is a good technical improvement on the rotary engine's weaknesses, but its got anemic power delivery. A tuned RX-7 on the other hand will beat a 350z, but a tuned RX-7 always did go like a ground skimming jet figher.

I learned how to drive a stick on a Suzuki Forenza. But it didnt prepare me for when I bought my 350Z with a stage 3 clutch. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to it. And even over a year later I avoid stopping on a steep incline.

@yoitsyourdawg911 yeah like all the people said below its not hard. PLUS the syncro-rev match will help you downshiftinf which is a biatch to learn to double clutch or heel-toe on your own. The crappy thing about the Z is the synchros just like any other lower priced sports car so those might go out quick if your learning.
Or learn to drive a car with a manual transmission. These cars are the ultimate when driven with the manual transmission. For get SMG or shifttronic transmissions, they are good for track times but a traditional manual is totally awesome.
People who want to show off yet get it easy drive one of these in auto.
I dont like the front end or the spoiler... is was hoping for a nismorection but this just left me flaccid. I like the new head/tail light design but in alot of ways the 350z woulda been prefered (aesthetically speaking)
Agreed, the more I look at the 370z the less I like it. And to the average person they couldnt pick out the difference (if they've been in the 350 before) between the 350z interior and the 370z interior. But why fix something that isn't broken? Personally I like the looks of the 350z better but the 370z has a great aggressive look. Good job nissan!
@JGuarrera61096 Nismo 370Z is a track car. Imagine if it had leather in it on a hot day at the track. The driver will hate the leather. Plus the cloth grips the driver better through the turns on a track. Leather is for the regular civilized Z.
4.7 sounds reasonable but with a perfect launch and perfect shifts on the right surface. I think that on the street though a low 5 second runs sounds more likely for most.
I agree. It was only a couple years ago when the Z was definitely the poor mans sports car, popular because it was a lot of bang for your buck. They seem to have ramped up the price disproportionately to the quality in the last two years.

So i think you're getting far more than just a bang for your buck pal, so a GTI 30K 200hp i can get 132 more horses and a prettier car by getting the 370Z. Not to mention people respect the Z when they see it, whether its the 350 or the 370 hell even the 300ZX. So many cars out here that are truly over priced, even the tiburon, so is the base model mustang.

Does it matter the normal 370Z is just as good as any of the other GT cars as far a perfomace goes the only real competion is the 135i which is about $5,000 more. Upgades anyone Lol. The new 370 is a great performer, although I feel like the styling is, well, it's almost as if the car looks like it's trying a bit too hard. The back is so "busy" looking, too much is going on in terms of styling. The Nismo Z takes this to a whole new level, that rear end is probably one of the cheesiest, rice-themed rears I've ever seen. In technical terms, the 370 is superior to my 350, but in terms of styling, the 350 employs simple, sweeping, classic, beautiful lines, the 370 seems confused

If you want to really learn a car, drive a manual. Just learn on a cheaper car like an older civic EX. I learned on an old '85 prelude myself.

@yoitsyourdawg911 yeah like all the people said below its not hard. PLUS the syncro-rev match will help you downshiftinf which is a biatch to learn to double clutch or heel-toe on your own. The crappy thing about the Z is the synchros just like any other lower priced sports car so those might go out quick if your learning.

Or learn to drive a car with a manual transmission. These cars are the ultimate when driven with the manual transmission. For get SMG or shifttronic transmissions, they are good for track times but a traditional manual is totally awesome.
People who want to show off yet get it easy drive one of these in auto.

I dont like the front end or the spoiler... is was hoping for a nismorection but this just left me flaccid. I like the new head/tail light design but in alot of ways the 350z woulda been prefered (aesthetically speaking)

Agreed, the more I look at the 370z the less I like it. And to the average person they couldnt pick out the difference (if they've been in the 350 before) between the 350z interior and the 370z interior. But why fix something that isn't broken? Personally I like the looks of the 350z better but the 370z has a great aggressive look. Good job nissan!

@JGuarrera61096 Nismo 370Z is a track car. Imagine if it had leather in it on a hot day at the track. The driver will hate the leather. Plus the cloth grips the driver better through the turns on a track. Leather is for the regular civilized Z.

4.7 sounds reasonable but with a perfect launch and perfect shifts on the right surface. I think that on the street though a low 5 second runs sounds more likely for most.

I agree. It was only a couple years ago when the Z was definitely the poor mans sports car, popular because it was a lot of bang for your buck. They seem to have ramped up the price disproportionately to the quality in the last two years.

I disagree about the Z once being the poor mans sports car, and it sure isnt today. The Z has always been for the enthusiast, someone who loves nissan and loves the Z. Id say a Porsche boxter is the poor mans sports car. The Z isnt some luxury car trying to be fancy, its a true sports car. Price? please, why is the VW GTI also 30K+ and you only get a little over 200hp with a lack luster interior, I love the gti, but dont complain about the price of the Z b.c its worth its price point.

for 29K you get a brand new Z ,332hp 270lbs torque and thats the base model 370Z. So i think you're getting far more than just a bang for your buck pal, so a GTI 30K 200hp i can get 132 more horses and a prettier car by getting the 370Z. Not to mention people respect the Z when they see it, whether its the 350 or the 370 hell even the 300ZX. So many cars out here that are truly over priced, even the tiburon, so is the base model mustang.

For my students, I totally approve of this Nismo Nissan 370Z. This is a great sports car! It is a reliable car too. It is very fast, beautiful, gets good fuel mileage, and will destroy all amerikan cars on a race track. For you amerikans, this car is not the car for you. The trunk is small, the seats are not for the obese, and it has only a 4 speaker stereo for listening to rap music...definitely not for amerikan buys. Try the mustang, it will hold 2 overweight adult amerikans and 2 fat children

@hithur Toyota is in just as much debt as GM, and was way before the big 3 story came to light. Mitsubishi motors is being abandoned by Mitsubishi as they want no connection to the motoring section of their electronics. Nissan has been in debt for the past 3 years. I'm just saying, if people thought these cars were great and were so much better than American. They wouldn't be in so much debt and as much debt as GM. BTW, ford never took money, but guess who did? Nissan.

Does it matter the normal 370Z is just as good as any of the other GT cars as far a perfomace goes the only real competion is the 135i which is about $5,000 more. Upgades anyone Lol. Yeah there's the Mustang but it even losses in the 1/4 at least in the video I saw or the smackdown video on this page to the right. And let's face it until it comes to super expensive($100,000+) American cars get beat in handiling. Come on for every 1 good handling AMerican car there are 5 imports just as good.

The new 370 is a great performer, although I feel like the styling is, well, it's almost as if the car looks like it's trying a bit too hard. The back is so "busy" looking, too much is going on in terms of styling. The Nismo Z takes this to a whole new level, that rear end is probably one of the cheesiest, rice-themed rears I've ever seen. In technical terms, the 370 is superior to my 350, but in terms of styling, the 350 employs simple, sweeping, classic, beautiful lines, the 370 seems confused
