well, as tragic as it is, it is a good thing Jane didnt end up running off with Mr. Lefroy for if she did, we would never have had the chance to read her wonderful books...
love so strange bewitches us all: heals and hurts, soothes and screams, but touches every heart, no matter how hard or broken, guarded or torn, love is the life or death of every creature; great or small.
I have a problem: I can't see the 5th part. The page tells "This video has Sony Music Entertainment containeds. It is not available on your country. (Italy)"
I thought she did love him! Didn't they part because he was not succesfull yet and had depts, and that it would have destroyed their love, being poor?
Jane loved him. They couldn't get married because his family depended entirely upon him and the income he brought. If they were married his uncle would disown him and they could not afford to send money to his family. In turn they would be poor an eventually that would lead to trouble between them. Therefore Jane makes the decision that they shouldn't be married. So in fact, their parting shows that Jane loves him too much to destroy his family.
The Loss of Yours is just so heartbreaking. I can always see this part in my head. When Tom is looking at Jane through the back of the carriage and is walking after it as it pulls away... the look on his face destroys me every time :( If I didn't have finals coming up, I would so watch this tonight haha
lol yea i think personally that if you steal music it stealing from the artist :P but although not everyone has the money to pay for such a thing that adds up in costs. so i guess what i am saying is that you should buy the cd if you can or not its only a matter of how much of a passion you have for the music
what's the song that anne hathaway plays in the piano in the end (particularly the last played in the piano)? The one where her mum is comforting her and stuff for leaving tom??? please tell me!!!
The most interesting thing is that Jane's life might have not been as tragic (I mean her relationship with Tom Lefroy) as it was depicted in the movie =) But it was awesome! Great acting =)
Are you serious? You think it's okay when a woman cannot earn her own money or have property? She's at the mercy of other people, and that's not right. Not to mention, she is draining her parents' money, which--if there's little to start with--would bother me if I were the daughter.
Is it just me or is the beautiful dance scene from the movie not in the soundtrack? Specifically, the ball scene where Tom suddenly pops up in the dance and Jane is totally happy and blushing.
I heart Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy - such talented actors!
That's because it's not a part of the movie score composed by Adrian Johnston. It's a 17th-century piece by H. Purcelli called "Hornpipe (The Hole in the Wall.) It's a shame it's not in the soundtrack, though, isn't it? I can't find the same slow version anywhere on YouTube - without the scene going on, that is.
I love love love this soundtrack! :)

I love all Jane Austens books. I particullarly love the happy endings all her characters get. It is so sad she didn't got one of her own!
I do think she made the right decision though, by not getting married to someone she didn't love. That would probably have destroyed her.

isn't that when they get the letter that cassandra's fiance has died..??? i think..
cheesedoodle1234 2 years ago
@potcfansyd It's the guy in the horse that's delivering the message that states that Cassandra's fiance is dead.

Adoring Heart is so simple yet poignant--I can just see how Cassandra was crying with this background music.

Goodbye Mr. Lefroy and distant lives are the most touching off all the songs. Runaways and Rosegarden take second.

A poor, unmarried woman, dependent on her parents all her life in early 19th century England? I dunno. Sounds kind of depressing to me.

did i say things like that? no.
i just think it's a pitty that you focus so strictly on superficial circumstances.
by the way what was she supposed to do? get married to be dependent on some stranger?
judge about the behaviour of someone during the 19th century out of 2009, yeah.
you just don't get what i mean but that's no reason to accuse me of having dumb opinions. you just don't know. :)
