the whole series kinda had a bit of Stepban King Vib going a bit. I watched it when I was a kid and man it was one of the creepiest and weirdest of the third eye series.
I remember watching this when I was a kid in the 80's on Nickelodeon, a show called the Third Eye..I thought I'd never see this again, thanks for posting!
@CatAngelheart That guy come across as elitist and the type of guy who thinks everybody is beneath him and calls them all 'oiks'. No wonder he still made the older lady make tea again like this was Upstairs Downstairs or something.
am looking for the name of a TV programme or film shown on British TV 1968- 1974 with... A dress in a tall glass case in a rear corner of a Victorian old ladies bedroom , she is sitting on a chaise lounge in the foreground, and warns a young girl who is admiring the dress, at the back of the room, on the facing left "not to open the case" .
But the girl does when the air rushes inside in a of basic technique of film animation /time frame - the dress dramatically and rapidly falls to pieces
I used to love this show but can't remember much about it. I am 40 now ! There was one programme a bit earlier that is bugging me. It was a creepy show where there was a round piece of plastic on a window and it was somehow magic ? Does anyone remember that show ?
@hartnell The program youre talking about, it wouldnt be " sky", also on you tube, or maybe "timeslip ", both around that time. im also trying to find the names to some creepy kids tv of the seventies. one was a play and it had a mute dwarf, in a flat and a man gets trapped for ever with the dwarf cause the lift collapses and he`s stranded forever(dwarf could have been David Rappaport), also a victorian doll that walks into a room at the end .these two have been torturing me !!!
@mackenzie77777 there was a series in the late 70's called Chiller, that had some pretty creepy stories. I seem to recall one with Freddie Jones in about a man who murdered his wife and then woke up to find it was a dream, then murdered his wife in a different way, then woke up to find it was a dream, over and over, like he was in hell for murdering his wife. I don't think it was a kids programme though
I have a feelng the red car that Gareth Thomas, is driving in this series which I have got on dvd is a wolseley it is one type of car which is not seen these days. This series is pre-Blake's 7 and seeing Gareth Thomas as Professor Adam Brake in this is excellent in many ways.

I'm pretty sure it was an Alfred Hitchcock story - I think it used to be a different story each week - on around lunchtime. I'd forgotten all about it until I saw your post. Must have had an effect on me!
Re Hitchcock Half Hours. Thank you for that. Have gone through a half dozen on here I cannot find it. I guess there were so many made over the years. Will keep on searching. I must have seen it 1968 - 1974 ish these were repeated on British TV in the 80s , but not sure about earlier
does anyone remember a sci-fi kids show called skye [?] that was on around the same time??? about an alien who's looking for a juggernaut otr something???
Can anyone remember the name of a children's serial that used to be on BBC once a week around 1974-76 similar to COTS? I seem remember there being pylons and these strange noises from them. Always pylons though and the strange effect they had on people. The programme was on once a week. Very eerie and strange. Not sure how I come to remember this! The programme must have given me nightmares lol.
@ShimaKiyoshi Thank you so much - seeing it again on here brought it all back! Changes-I knew this word had something to do with it! I used to live by pylons so they became something quite menacing to my 9 yr old mind.
Didn't think anyone would remember this programme so thanks again!
The Children of the Stones seem to know the right way to handle a bully, not to mention being brilliant & content. "Going back to our innocent days when we were one with Nature" doesn't sound that bad to me. Happy Day, everyone!
Nah, total free will is highly overrated. Sacrificing one's ability to do evil in the world is a good trade off for peace, contentment, law & order. Imperfect as it is, that's what civilization is all about.
Nobody has complete free will, but we have a certain amount of it within limits. That's what civilization is all about: those limits. The people in this story have their own personalities completely eradicated in favor of Hendrick's idyllic vision. The implication is that they become Hendrick drones, and he controls them telepathically. That's why they're all good at math, and how Hendrick knows things he shouldn't (Matt's breakfast order, the Brakes' plans to leave, etc.).
When I first saw this on Nickelodeon in the early 1980's I thought the kids were like 18 or 19. After watching it recently I can see they are closer to 13 or 14.
This was my favourite TV series from the 70s. Patrick Dromgoole (Executive Director) made some great TV programmes for kids. 'Sky' was another one. Who could produce television programmes of this quality these days? And to think it was put out for kids! I still love it all these years later.
"Blake is Alive" yip, that's him. Great actor. Great show too. This and Blakes 7. They knew how to make good shows back in those days. we only had 3tv channels and no one had even heard of video recorders.

Looking for the name of a TV programme or possibly a film where a wedding dress features.
I have tried to find out what this scene was for over 30 years. A wedding dress in a tall glass case in a corner of a Victorian
old ladies room, she is sitting on a sofa and warns a young girl who is admiring the wedding dress, not to open the case .
But the girl does behind the old lady, and when the air gets inside the dress falls to pieces..
It is NOT Mrs Haversham in David Copperfied PERPLEXED too long!
