  • Y'all teach Thai speech really clearly. I appreciate it. Thanks.

  • สวยจัง

  • How would I say father in Thai? I know it's spelt phor but I have no idea how to pronounce it

  • @prodigiesrule The vowel sounds like when you pronounce the word "law" in English, you just change 'L' to "P" and make it falling tone ;)

  • @LearnThaiwithMod Thanks:)

  • Dee jai na kap

  • @learnthaiwithmod

chok dee is good luck so can i say dee chok as lucky?

  • @marnimarien

Choke-dee means both good luck and lucky. dee-chok has no meaning. Choke-dee ka:)

  • @learnthaiwithmod ive seen several thai movies that have used lak gorn na krap or ka and then sometimes followed by sawatdee

  • @nocturnalserpent

I think they say words that make it sounds dramatic sometimes. I never heard anyone say la-gorn in real life. Sawatdee krap/ka is used by younger person to say good bye to the elder.

  • Kruu Mod,

Thank you for teaching current Thai.

Can you say sawasdee to say good bye? . You did not mention sawasdee in you video. Is it too formal? You stated above that people do not use "la-gon" anymore. Why is that? Is it too formal? It is interesting that 3 of my books still teach "la-gon" for good bye.

By the way, in last video, you said your sister was going to be in the following video. I did not see her :). Was she unable to make it because of the floods?

    Thank you.

  • @latira100

Sawatdee ka, I explain about using "sawatdee" for goodbye in my website, please see the link given under the video. For "la-gorn", it is obsolete, sounds very old-fashion.

My sister cannot make it because of the flooding. But I'll go back home to see her myself next weekend, so please stay tune:)

  • hi, how are you typing words with their tones (like in pob gan mai na: the up and down arrows above 'a' and 'o')? just curious

  • @sushantap

Sawatdee ka, I use Microsoft Word and select insert symbols, then copy and past on my video.

  • @LearnThaiwithMod khob khun krub : )

  • cool!

  • la gon Khrap or sawadii Khrap is also a farewell

  • @josch978

Kop Kun Ka Joschua. I don't think anyone uses "la-gorn" anymore ka.
