(continued) out yes but this is a tough one to choose drug dealing low life scum of the earth or a ski slope hmmmmmm lol i am powerless over this decision and what ever happens happens but theres my 2 cents
ya know i live in aquebogue and have to drive through riverhead every day and i must say it is getting very congested by all the new shopping centers and every thing else there building i would like to say that it does look very nice and i know i would enjoy some of the luxuries this project had to offer but on the other hand it is already getting bad enough with the population here,i would like to see riverhead clean up by pushing the scum
Destroying this preperty to build such a monstrosity would be a tragedy. The last thing LI and needs is something like this. It will detract greatly from the nartural beauty of the pine-barrens ecosystem, cause pollution and runoff and create traffic and congestion. The last thing downstate NY needs is to lose another one of its grasslands. These ecosystems are not only beautiful and increasingly rare, but they harbor NYS endangered and threatened species like short-eared owl.
I couldn't agree more. I talk about this all the time on my channel, how this project would destroy many of the fragile ecosystems in the area by pollution of ground and air, as well as from all the traffic. The Politicians in charge of Riverhead should be held in contempt for trying to ram this project through against the will of the people.
How are they going to maintain a snow making ski slope in Riverhead where the weather is inconsistant, considering it takes Hunter Mountain quite a lot of effort to do it in the upstate NY environment. BTW, anyone been to Hunter or Tannersville lately? In order to stay in business Hunter Mountain needed to steal all the businesses from these towns and now the towns are DEAD! Good luck Riverhead! I agree with the above poster, we need to focus on revitalizing Riverhead's downtown area.
As a Suffolk County resident who is already irritated by Hamptons traffic cloging the roads every summer, I stop and wonder if anyone has given any thought to the fact the Long Island is essentially a dead end street with one way on and one way off. How everyone is going to get to this luxury resort?
Sickening. Snobby classical music to go with it. Ski mountain and Riverhead Resorts will bring traffic and pollution to the area. Who needs a faux resort when nature has provided a natural resort? I'd rather have native trees like pitch pine instead of a fake landscape(no doubt maintained by illegals). Not to mention the ugly ski mountain that will dominate the landscape. This project must be stopped at all costs, and I will do everything in my power and join the fight to squash this project.

It seems downtown, which is the area where re-development is sorely needed languishes. The town seems to be a haven for illegals and undesirable people. I see very little traffic there. Instead of approving harmful projects in the pine barrens, Riverhead should focus on cleaning up the town of illegal rentals and bodegas and redeveloping it into a smart growth community. Bring in resteruants, bookstores, markets, and workforce housing for citizens.

You are powerless. Quit your bitching, and do something useful with your time. Like losing weight.

Is Riverhead ready for this project? Is there any interest in completing a plan in down town Riverhead?
