The best way to format a Symbian phone is holding *,3,green key and power key together. This is Hard Reset.

The guy is just doing a soft reset.

it should be the same code. or try this step

1 turn off your phone

2 hold Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad Together

3 Turn your device on while you are pressing the three buttons.

4 You should now see "Formatting .." on the Screen! Leave the buttons now.

because the firmware on the n80 sucked, i have flashed mine to n80ie firmware, there is very few differences , google it, n80s are stupidly slow,

I agree they messed up the 4.07 firmware but the latest is ok, the only 2 things i don't like about this phone is the lack of ram and size of the phone, i might get a N82 or similar but right now im skint lol

me too haha, kinda over it, just want it to make calls, and in australia our networks are shit so cant use alot of the features, 4.07, that rings a bell, is your phone flashed by your operator, with a shitty startup sequence? if so change the product number with an international product number, i think the latest firmware is like 5, admittintly it runs much better

Yep all up to date, i changed the product code via NSS to the N80ie and flashed it using Nokia software updater, all unbranded but still has an operator service lock :(, same date and FW as yours. Just brought a 1Gb memory card for it. Looks like us Brits are beating ya at the medals in the Olympics lol.

this is not the best way to format your phone if u want the virus that located in your local C phone memory will be remove... If restore factory setting so that the virus still in ur phone .. Switch off ur pphone and press use * 3 and call button (in green ) then Power button (HOLD) .. after a few second, FORMATTING will appeared on ur phone.. wait until it`s automatically done .. if u have problem send msg to me here..

There is no solution as far as I know, all the information inside the phone is removed, so the time and date are also affected.
