@TheBitch9970 Part of the ship. This clip shows it flying over NV, UT, AZ, & NM. When it flew over TX, it completely disintegrated, killing all aboard, and being one of NASA's worst disasters. This clip captures the beginning of the disaster with chunks of the spacecraft falling off. They were oblivious of the ship's fate when they were filming this. Very sad. RIP Columbia crew.
Great video footage, whch ive never seen on any tv show about this disaster, i for one am very pleased that you concentrated on the filming rather than watching it yourself. Well done from England !

Cool vid....except the guy filming it is SUCH a douche bag. His poor kids, he try's to make himself look so smart but just ends up looking like an ignorant jack ass
I'm the douche bag that recorded Columbia's last re-entry ...made the video. wiki-"A hot shock wave is created in front of the vehicle, which deflects most of the heat and prevents the orbiter's surface from directly contacting the peak heat. Therefore reentry heating is largely convective heat transfer between the shock wave and the orbiter's skin through superheated plasma"
just doing my best to inform, excite my son GOTO "chrisvalentines" video and go to the space section 4 more
the fwd fuselage with crew compartment fell backward flip and spin.. the Comander turned off apu and attempted to restart still thinking the orbiter was intact.... when the cabin had enough thermal breach there was explosive cabin depressurization exposing crew to near vacume conditions and thermal effects.. at this time of 3-4 seconds they were alive but lost consiousness fast and were most likely not suffering other than the stages before the final breakup
That live comment by my friend was simply his perception through a shaky unsteady binocular view.
Everything for the crew was normal until about two minutes after my video ends. Commander Husband's communications were calm and told of no issues up to that point. Then the orbiter lost attitude and quikly broke up.
Read the CAIB final report. It's ALL there.
Thanks for the comment, but the shuttle simply was not flipping whatsoever
i just right now as i write just finished reading the entire report page to page
started when endevour was entireing reentry.. i wanted to know if the astronauts survived to know thier fate
and sadly they did... the shuttle pitched 90up and at that time the left wing seperated, the RTS thursters compensated well for a while untill drag was too much... then the orbiter flat spun with belly to the wing and then banked left to the dammed wing and it ..
IT'S 7 PEOPLE IN THAT THING!! it's called a SPACE SHUTTLE young man

Great video, (horrible event), thanx for the important upload. Clearly, the shuttle was shedding debris well before it's catastrophic demise.

Chilling footage, can't imagine the shock when you heard the news of it's fate shorty after you filmed this.

The one guy was right: It was flipping over! Good footage.

No, it was not "flipping over"...
