Thanks very much wardy10 for replying. Yeah, I've been doing my fair share of research on the internet and it doesn't seem to produce anything valuable enough. What I mean, is that I need some sort of example that is realistic and slowed down. Mind you, I looked at a science paper and started looking at hexapod robots (i.e. 6 legged robots). What I got from it was it goes L1,R2,L3,R1,L2,R3 and each leg lifts as the last is placed on the floor. Hope it helps us both!!
Hi there! I am currently trying to do the same thing, only hand drawn animation. I'm trying my best to find information on the internet that might tell me how the offset of an ant walk works. I've animated the legs pretty similarly to yours, however, its too regular for the moment and have no idea WHERE to start with the offset of them!? Is it the middle pair of legs that go faster than the rest, or does every leg land on the floor one after the other in succession?? The mind boggles!?
@cjmoultrie Hey. I had a bit of trouble finding good resources on the net about how ant's walk, and a lot of the ant cycles on youtube are quite poor. I ended up finding a really helpful post on some forums, cant remember which ones (some old school freeware 3d sofware) which explained it really well. I didn't end up adding any offsets after posting this, but try offsetting three or fout of the legs by one or two frames, the legs move so fast that you'll get away with a lot.
